I’m sure you can agree that one major problem is we don’t have a “rational” person in the White House.
Our President is certainly unpredictable and easily provoked.
I don’t think he’s advocated violence. He does get some people stirred up and that can be dangerous. He certainly draws extreme reactions from the far left and the far right.
All the times Trump has called for violence at his rallies

He really has thrown quite a bit of money into advancing pro-democracy and globalist movements in Eastern Europe since the fall of the Soviet Union. He’s long been an easy punching bag for right and populist politicians in the area with. His involvement inside Russia’s traditional security zone has made him enemies that have a much louder voice.
He’s a popular target for Russian disinformation efforts. Once a Russian troll farm or two puts your name high on it’s list of targets getting blamed for amazing things isn’t all that amazing.
That’s what I don’t understand about the hatred of Soros; he was trying to establish democracies in the former Soviet Union and elsewhere. I would think that would be a popular idea.
And is anyone surprised to hear that the authorities have traced the bombs to Florida?
Put yourself in Vladimir Putin’s shoes. Before you came to power the advance of Western liberal ideas about government and globalization pushed a number of countries in your traditional security zone to join NATO or the EU, mostly both. The domestic political movements in Eastern Europe where those ideas were most popular also tended to look West for engagement. The world’s largest trade zone and most powerful military alliance are pushing ever deeper into your traditional security zone. Are those ideas that popular with you now, President Putin?
Once you get past that it’s just a matter of unleashing the trolls. Within the US those that oppose globalism/globalization are fertile ground for those messages. Soros was already a political adversary for right based populist movements. They disagree with him about how the international system should be structured. Add hyperbolic disinformation, stir, and see what confirmation bias helps stick.
I would have guessed Texas.
Ten bombs and no explosions. I read there seemed to be no trigger device on them, although explosive powder was included. Some sort of weird warning?
Seems #11 caught in Florida, it was addressed to Senator Booker.
The streetside mailboxes have a notice that packages over thirteen ounces must be taken to a staffed location and can’t just be deposited anonymously. I think this restriction was put in place after the Unabomber incidents. So how were these packages mailed?
It was put in place after the anthrax attacks.
The Failing New York Times speculated that the Proper Authorities could use cel phone information to see who was at post office A, B and C on certain days, leading to a short list of suspects.
Or not.
Okay, I was wrong: Trump hasn’t blamed the dems (yet). But all the righty cockroaches have wasted no time in claiming these are false flag attacks. I really hope they’re not, as the howl from the right would become earsplitting.
The Feds in Florida have arrested a suspect and a press conference is scheduled for this afternoon.
Wonderful!
Sheesh.
Good idea to keep a low profile.
There were bombs sent to Cory Booker, James Clapper, and Kamala Harris.
Very happy to hear they caught the package bomber before anyone got hurt.
Now if they can catch the persons sending ricin maybe the mail will be safer (for awhile).

They did catch one guy. The person that mailed Senator Collins is probably a different perp. She’s not mentioned in this case.

Trump’s response: “We must never allow political violence to take root in America.” Really, you tone-deaf, stupid asshole? FUCKING REALLY? Look in the goddamn mirror, for fuck’s sake!
