So… Ten so far.
I’m waiting for the 1st amendment to be repealed so journalists can be lined up and shot.
Oh, you really don’t think that’s what they want?
This from the party that can’t even repeal Obama care. And you think they’re gonna repeal the 1st Amendment? Please.
Voices within heads.
That’s what I thought, I was going to post the same thing you did.
They don’t have to. They’ve put enough firebrands on the Supreme Court who can interpret the First Amendment out of existence. Someday, only Fox will be allowed to survive, the others will be shut down as “enemies of the people”.
Violence directed at political opponents is bad. Sad that that is not a universal sentiment and is actually disputed even on these boards depending on the target.
There seem to be contradictory narratives. I keep hearing about authorities intercepting unopened packages and I’m seeing x-rays of unopened packages, but it seems like everyone is wondering why they didn’t explode.
Maybe some were opened and some weren’t. That must be what’s happening.
But it seems like the initial ones were intercepted at special remote facilities where there are trained people who wouldn’t just carelessly open something suspicious.
Then, once those were in the news presumably nobody would open anything suspicious they received.
Far sadder than the views of random internet people is the fact that the President has encouraged violence against progressives and celebrated violence against a journalist.
I concur that there’s little candlepower in that noggin, but he’s at least one doorhinge away from the top spot. Until he retires, nobody has a chance.
Hey, I tried putting the Cheeto-Faced ShitGibbon on my ignore list, but people keep quoting him.
I’m guessing that none of the recipients open their own mail. In fact I’d guess that some of them have their mail vetted routinely before it’s opened.
I’m not going to check on that because I really want it to be true.
One of my darling co-workers referred to the caravan as an army this morning, and implied that we’re now being invaded, but it’s ok because the Orange Numpty (my words, not his) is sending the military to the border.
I’ve been informed by various family members that some of the Hondurans are genuine, and are just coming to vote illegally and steal our jobs. Wonder if they got invited to the party too?
Thanks!
Unfortunately I’m related to, and Facebook friends with, enough loons to achieve that authenticity. I could just defriend them, but then how would I find out who got married or who died?
Your clarification is no less outlandish. Seriously, do you actually believe this? Because, if so, you’re the poster child of the fringe college student everybody says isn’t representative of the democratic party.
Honestly, if you actually believe the supreme court is getting ready allow all reporters to lined up and shot, that’s a call to action to a nutter to do something about the supreme court, just as much as anything anybody else said.
It is true, I tried it. Obviously the line is recognized by the translator, even though it is otherwise gibberish. It is one of them Easter Egg thingies.
(I can get a quick translation with a pop-up menu on selected text, but that one does not say “[fatal error]”.)
The Vox article says:
So the tweet** eschereal** quoted was right. Also, either Vox misspelled git or the bomber did.
I discussed the false flag hypothesis in post 109. We can’t rule out anything, because this is the work of an individual wacko. But I think it’s reasonable to conjecture that the perp is familiar with the right wing lizard brain Breitosphere. If it’s false flag, the guy has done his research (smart!) and doesn’t realize that terror attacks tend to benefit the more authoritarian party (stupid!).
Individuals can be both smart and stupid: it happens. But generally speaking they are one or the other. I vote for stupid Breitbart influenced psycho. Let’s not forget: the alt-right has killed over 100 Americans. Over the past several years lefties have killed about 2. The propensity to violence is not distributed evenly on both sides.

Trump regularly jokes about violence against his opponents. Words have effects. Incivility is a red herring: the normalization of violence and the refusal of the President to police his language to the extent of every previous seated President is the issue. Civility and Decency are a Dodge to Duck What’s Really Happening with Trump - TPM – Talking Points Memo

Don’t bring an Occam’s Razor to a bomb fight.
I don’t think either of those incidents resulted in any deaths (edit: other than the shooter in the second incident, so not really a leftist killing)
Good point, I should have said incidents. But then I’m comparing incidents to fatalities which isn’t apples to apples.
Let’s try setting some odds. The background probability for leftie violence is about 2/100. Round that up to 8% given the preceding. Assume 80% of lone perps are either dumb (more likely) or smart, but not both at the same time. That reduces our 8% probability to 1.6% or “less than 5%” in round numbers.
So that’s my probability of false-flag: less than 5%.
BTW, Vox has an article on the appeal of the False Flag concept among right wing conservative commentators. I’ve only skimmed it. Clintons, Obamas, Soros sent explosive devices: “false flags,” explained - Vox
