Bones 5/14

I’m 30 minutes into the episode and my head is about to explode! What the hell! I hate it, hate it, hate it! The reason I watch Bones is because it has mildly interesting science.
Why change it into another dreary cop drama?
It’s like the writers had that nightmare where they didn’t finish their homework and couldn’t remember where the classroom was or even what kind of class it was.

“Damn, we forgot to write the season finale script, so lets make it up as we shoot.”

Another one bites the dust.

Ok, I’m better now.

It was an interesting idea to change the characters but keep them the same. Would have made for a nice little skit on hulu or something. Definitely not season finale worthy though.

I was disappointed in it, too. But I’ll bet the actors enjoy a chance to play a slightly different character once in awhile.

I have complained about the cheapness of yet another “amnesia” plot. I have also noted the percieved value of such complaints by how such plots have been reduced since my first complaint. Which was in the first season. And this is the fourth season. I could be posting on a fan site, for all my comments are worth.

She doesn’t like my fiction, either. Fails to see the point of a story pointedly described without several points, and why that might be important. But when I tell the tale of a friend crossing several state lines with the corpse of her mother, THAT’s funny.

I give up.

ETA: Though the latter story was MUCH funnier. Completely insane. It was just about a friend, and my stories about friends reamain between friends, though one might not know the other.

One word: “Yuk”

That was amazingly awful.

I don’t watch the entertainment news much so I don’t know whats been canceled and returning. About 20 minutes in I said to my wife “are they canceled? Because this is like they just don’t care.”

According to this Enternainment Weekly site, it’s “a sure thing” for renewal. http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2009/04/fall-tv-cheat-s.html?xid=rss-ausiellofiles-Fall+TV+cheat+sheet%3A+What’s+in%3F+What’s+out%3F)

I have to disagree with the criticisms here. It seems to me that the writers and/or the actors decided that they wanted to try something different. I don’t get the sense that they just didn’t care anymore.

We could argue about whether the whole concept worked or not (and personally, I kinda liked it), but I think it’s overly harsh to say that they just didn’t care.

Worst finale Evar!

I thought it was cute as a one-off episode, and I fully expected the “it-was-all-a-dream” thing given the situation at the end of last week’s episode and the previews, but it would have worked better in the middle of a season rather than the finale.

I can only hope that the cliffhanger is resolved by Booth saying, “Ah, come on, Bones, I’m just joking with you,” with that goofy grin on his face. Amnesia? No, thanks.

I’ve always detested the term “Jumped the Shark” but if a show ever did so, Bones just did - and with tremendous authority.

I’m sure they care, but they sure managed to produce something that made it seem otherwise.

I agree that as an odd throw away episode to be aired during Christmas week it would have been understandable. But way lacking for this point in a season.

Did Booth get a coma the week before?

That’s a fair assessment. I do think that these criticisms are overly harsh, but I concur that the timing of this particular episode was not ideal.

I’m a big fan of the show and i just didn’t understand this episode at all. I kept wishing I could go back to last week’s to see if they led into or explained this one at all, because I sure didn’t notice if they had. Just weird. I think I fell asleep at the very end. I’ll watch it again tonight with my husband, he missed it last night, maybe it’ll make some sense the second time. I’m not pleased.

I hope they get some better writing next season. I love the characters/actors and the previous seasons. This season is like a completely different show and I preferred the original.

He started seeing hallucinations and was diagnosed with some sort of brain tumor. I believe it was benign but they had to remove it anyway because it negatively affecting him even if it wasn’t cancer. The episode ended with him being wheeled into surgery so last night’s episode was whatever Booth dreamed while under the knife and beyond.

Last night’s episode ended with Bones saying that the operation went well except that Booth had a negative reaction to the anesthesia which put him into a coma for four days.

I barely watch the show but I caught that much. My wife is a big fan and said after last night’s show “Great, now I have to be pissed for the next three months.”

When it started I figured it was some kind of hallucination or dream or whatever due to Booth’s surgery from last week. I wouldn’t have minded if it lasted for the first 15 or so minutes but it just went on and on. I was so bored with it I deleted it halfway through. Didn’t even know it was the finale. From what I’m reading I’m glad I deleted it.

Last night all I saw was the last two minutes. Watched it tonight and I liked it, though I’m trying not to think about how the final season of Gilligan’s Island was almost entirely dream sequences like murder mysteries in which the castaways played characters that were either much like or polar opposites of their usual characters.

This whole episode just felt like a really crappy AU fanfic. And yeah, it could have been fine as a filler episode mid-season, but as a finale it was worthless. Audible malcontent as they followed it with the lamest, most soap-opera-cliched plot device ever.

This was inarguably bad. Those responsible should be sacked.

Not to be nit picky, but I think the episode is what BONES was thinking as she sat there and waited for booth to recover. At the end, before he wakes up, we see her typing a novel, and then deleting it - the story we just watched.
