Boss: anybody else watching?

A new series on Starz, starring Kelsey Grammer. Yeah, I know: I didn’t think I’d be able to get past his 20 years of “Frazier” persona either. But he does an excellent job of becoming a ruthless Chicago politician. The plot is working well so far, after two episodes, and there is enough young person fake sex and boobies to maintain interest in that area.

So, any thoughts on this?

Do you mean you’ve only watched two episodes? Because they’ve run eight (season finale was this past Friday). I haven’t watched the last episode yet, but I’ve seen all the others.

Yeah, there are only four on demand and we didn’t have Starz until recently. I guess we’re the only two people watching this. :frowning:

I’ve been watching since the premiere. I was hoping Kane would be a little more “evil” (kinda like a modern-day Batiatus from Spartacus: Blood and Sand). I still have to watch the season finale, but I’ll likely stick with it next season. I’ll probably try to re-watch this season to try to understand half the stuff I didn’t catch the first time around.

I do agree with you that Kelsey Grammer does a good job with his role. I never regularly watched Frazier so I don’t have to worry about picturing him in that role.

They’re trying for something grand, like The Sopranos or something out of Shakespeare, but it didn’t quite work. I watched through the end, but it wasn’t really compelling.

To each his own, I guess. We finished the first season last night and found it very compelling. Grammer’s character is the essence of cold-blooded evil, the plot is solid, and the acting excellent. Other than Grammer, I don’t recognize the other actors (other than vaguely), which is a plus, as I have no expectations for them. There is a season two coming at some point and I’m looking forward to it.
