Hey all. Now that the weather is getting nice, perhaps we should have a little day out some Saturday in June? Maybe go for drinks at Cheers then head over and catch Shear Madness or Blue Man?
If anyone is interested just say “yea” and we’ll set up a date. Also, the play/show is just something I thought of that’s easy to get to from the commons (as is Cheers). I don’t really care what we do. Hell, we could all go down to Plimoth Plantation (yes, IIRC it really is spelled that way) or JFK Library or something. Boston dopers just don’t get together enough!
Um, does non-dopefest mean only Bostonians can go? I’m in VT but go down to Boston pretty often, and if the date fit well with my schedule I’d be up for spending a day down there.
And yeah, what’s with Plimoth Plantation in Plymouth, Mass? Talk about a messed up stupid spelling nightmare!
Hell, I don’t really care, I just didn’t want to make it some be-all end-all gathering for the summer! Of course, if it ends up that way, well, I won’t stop it.
I think the original settlers spelled it that way, back before the whole idea of standardized spelling came around.
If I can catch a ride with someone local (SE MA/Prov), I’d be up for it.
Driving to Boston alone frightens and confuses me, especially since I’ve been there exactly twice.
Any takers?
I’m up in Portland, Maine now, but I’d love to drive down for a get together. I’m having severe B.A.D.fest withdrawls.
I’m up for anything. Love Fenway. Cheers is extremely overrated, but I’ll go. I know of a quaint little bar in the Combat Zone we could go to if we all have enough dollar bills.
Oh kiz, it is pretty neat. They have people play all the people that really lived there. You get to ask them all about what they did, and what life was (is… they really are in character) like. I was just there last weekend. Neat! Not that incredibly big, but Plymouth isn’t that far away anyway, so no big deal.
Actually, there was a dopefest here last year, um, at Quincy Market, that I missed. I ain’t missing anything this year, even if I have to organize it my own darned self!
Does anyone have any specific dates that they need, or need to avoid? I definitely can’t do it the weekend of June 15th… stupid weddings. I also definitely can’t do it on the 3rd, but that’s a Sunday anyway, and a Saturday would be best for me anyway. Anyone have any other restrictions?
AARGH! I’d love to, but I know that I can’t. Parental units, eh? Always getting in the way. I’ll probably be busy, though. School coming to an end, cheerio…!
There was??? Must’ve happened before I came on the board…another sigh
Well, as for me, I’ve got nothing specific planned for June thus far on the dates you mentioned, which means that…
WOOOOOO HOOOOOOO!!!
