Thank you all for thinking of me, but I won’t be able to attend this time. My wife is going on a much needed mini vacation to Martha’s Vineyard this weekend with some women friends and I need to get my butt home Friday night so she can pack and sell the concept to the Little Lagomorph, age 3 (“Mommy won’t be around this weekend, Honey, but Daddy knows how to make peanut butter and Fluff too!”)
It would be nice to meet some of you people but maybe next time. I look forward to hearing about your fun, and maybe seeing some pictures.
If I get a free Friday night coming up I will let you all know here in MPISMS but it might be short notice.
Alright, 7 pm I can deal with…anyone have a specific place in mind to meet, or are we going to just wander around looking for confused doper-like people? The wandering worked really good at the last one, but it wasn’t quite as big as the Galleria…
How about at the entrance to CheeseCake Factory, since that seems to be the first choice of restaurants?
The Galleria is about two blocks south of the Lechmere T station, on the Green Line. On this map, the station is approximately where the letter “g” is, in Cambridge St, at the top of the map. The purple blob is the Galleria.
You could also go to Kendall Square, on the Red Line, which is Main St, at the bottom of the map, if that’s easier for you. But, it’s a longer walk, and it may be raining.
There’s also a free shuttle that goes from Kendall to the Galleria and back. But if you don’t know what to look for, it might be hard to find. There are a lot of buses that stop in Kendall Square.
Ok… our sitter bailed so I am offering here for anyone to speak now … It is a small gathering and she’s actually quite well behaved but I really wanted to come and meet everyone… so we will be the threesome (instead of twosome) in front of the cheesecake factory at 7 unless someone vehemently objects to midgets and does so in this thread before we have to leave our house this evening.
Well, I’d say a good time was had by all. And, no one brought a camera! WooHoo! I win!
Tanookie turned out to be a cutie, as expected. And the munchkin is just gorgeous! And, more of a flirt than her mom. Parallax is just as nice in person as he seems on the board. Robot Arm was a surprise, to me. Far more amusing than I’d anticipated. And, folks, I don’t know if he’s available, but Achernar is much better looking in person, than he is in the photos he linked to. And, a really nice guy. Definitely one of Boston’s most eligible Dopers, assuming he’s a bachelor. With a truly formidable thirst (for Diet Coke)! Sorry, dude. I couldn’t resist. Pammipoo, unfortunately, continued to have the Week From Hell, at work, and couldn’t make it.
It turned out to be an early night, as everyone, except the munchkin, seemed to wind down after dessert. But, I’m looking forward to the next one, already. Early August, did someone say?
