The day has finally come. I’m officially done with school, and I promised my mom I’d move out by then (I moved in with mom about three years ago, to save up money and then go to school full-time). The ‘in-laws’ (my boyfriend’s family; they’ve already started the “when are you going to give us grandbabies” chant, hence the ‘in-laws’) have bought a big property with a guest cottage. Bryan and I are moving into the guest cottage. We’ll be in the lovely town of Woodland Hills, California, so we’ll be neighbors to two of our favorite posters, Monster104 and SPOOFE.
Just the one thing that really bothers me, happens to be one of the most ironic situations I’ve ever had in my life. As a chef, I can only shake my head that this cottage, even with its little kitchenette, has no stove. No fire. Ack! But, the main house makes up for it; not only does it have a huge stove, but also has a brick wood-burning oven. Watch me as I set the house on fire trying to get that baby running! Once I figure out how it works, I’m making pizza and real pita bread in that thing.
And, yes, once we’re all settled, I’m thinking of having a dopefest there.
Pool + Big Backyard + Wet Bar in the Den = Party House.
I helped True Pisces move. Her stepmom got her a lot of boxes. Her stepmom is a nurse. We carried many boxes of adult diapers… just a beautiful image for the new neighbors…
Well, things are starting to settle in at El Rancho Destructo. Most everything is unpacked, except for a few boxes that are going to go into our little storage room upstairs.
Of course, it’s going to take some time to get used to. I’m dying to redecorate, because this place was last fixed up around 1985. The bathroom is black tile and floor-to-ceiling mirror–it looks like the set of a Flock of Seagulls video . The living room has a cathedral ceiling; along one wall is the fireplace and stainless steel chimney–with handprints going all the way up. I’m still puzzled over that.
Thanks everyone for the kind words. My internet connection is going to be a little sketchy for a few days since my phone isn’t hooked up yet (I’m at mom’s getting all the things we forgot yesterday), so I’ll let y’all know when we have the grand party.
