Just RSVP’s for the company holiday bash - it’s the Saturday after we get back from our cruise. They do a really nice party - looking forward to it!
To quote Monty Python:
Pretty sure that’s how this fall was for just about everyone. I think we had one weekend of it up here in Wisco. Maybe two. There’s leaves on top of the snow because the tree didn’t shed its leaves until after we already had an inch of snow.
We’re on the edge of freezing rain. Trying to decide if I was to push things and go pay off my mechanic for some things I had him do on Bessie. With luck Saturday she can come back home after a week at the “vet and pet hotel”.
The remaining leaves are white & the grass is becoming white.
Forecast: Snow and sleet before 1pm, then snow, freezing rain, and sleet between 1pm and 3pm, then rain, snow, and sleet after 3pm
Sahirrnee, arn’t you glad you work from home?
My phone has informed me that snowmageddon will start at 17:30, so the drive home will be a zoo.
Update: there is no more grass visible; there is no road visible. At some point the town’s leaf collection truck went by. :smack:
It has now changed from snow as I hear it falling against the windows.
Given the forecast, I decided to irk from home today. However, I’m not one of those one-percenters with a heated garage so I needed to put on shoes to get the 'puter from the car this morning because the concrete floor is cold. ::assumes Mooommm’s pose of woe::
Would you contribute to a [del]BegForMoney[/del]GoFundMe to have a heated floor installed in my garage so I don’t have to suffer these indignities again?
Alien, I am very glad I work from home and I feel for those of you who have to go out into this mess.
Ripple is having a good time in the snow.
My son is not happy about having to shovel the sidewalk.
To all of you dealin’ with snow/sleet/ice… better thee than me. Just cool, gray, and overcast here. The rain is gone. Did a few chores around da cave and now chillaxin’ til time to start sup preparation.
I’m up on the north side of all of that mess. I’ve got the cold air that’s behind that front. It’s bright and sunny here…
I was trying to figure out our Christmas budget over my lunch break… fun.
I’m with you, swampy; shoveled enough of the stuff in Ohio growing up, while it’s 30F, windy and cloudy here, snow is not something I’m worrying about.
New shoes bought, a couple of new 2 qt. pots added to the collection, and a new pair of gloves, so I am in the house and not planning on departing anytime soon.
Spidey, I’d help out but I’m saving for a custom bidet for my toilets.
Nut, ain’t it amazing what you learn by showing up to class? Dum Dum needs a couple failing grades (though he’ll adopt an Americanism and call it ‘fake news’)…
Seriously, all you on the road in the snow and ice be careful, y’hear?
Chips in for your dream; you’re welcome!
Update II: Total daytime snow and sleet accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.
Snow and Cold? What? I still have the air conditioning on. That may change tomorrow when it gets chilly with lows in the high 60’s and highs in the mid to upper 70’s.
Blurfage
re snow I cant live in it and since im to big to play in it yall can have it do be safe tho
we do get some every 5-10 years but its been a decade since we had enough to measure and haven’t any great amount since 84 or 5
its a slightly chilly 68 here a little overcast tho
I made shrimp, tacos, and deviled eggs.
It’s raining. My son went out and shoveled our walk and the neighbor’s, took him less than 10 minutes.
Cable, well, directv, is going out. I’m pretty sure I’m going to cancel when the contract is up.
We had two people killed in weather related crashes, and folks stuck on the freeway for several hours while the wrecks were cleared.
We have supped and all is well. Outside temp is 40 with a wind chill of 35. Tonight’s low is predicted to be 34 so we have a frost advisory in effect. If this means frost wants my advice, then, frost stay away. If it means I am advised that there could be some frost in shady places, well, duh!
spidey, LOL = little old lady and LOM, well, you guessed, little old man. As far as Thanksgiving cards, you can buy them at the store, but one of my side gigs is making cards to sell. Since I’m a few hundred miles from most of my family, I send them cards.
metal mouse, were you still in Ohio during the blizzard of '78?
There was a dusting of snow on my car when I went out this morning, but none stuck to the ground. It’s been another Eeyore day here. I did, however get to the point that I should be able to bug out a little early tomorrow afternoon. If there’s nothing falling from the sky, I’ll take Nelson to the dog park. He only got a very brief trip there last weekend, so he’s itching to get off leash.
Damn. My roommate’s plans for tonight were cancelled, so that means she’ll probably stay home and I can’t make cookies. Damn. And I was going to do laundry too, and my roommate doesn’t like the way I do it.
So there are some more plans cancelled. And I need my roommate criticizing me like I need a hole in the head.
Speaking of holes in the head, I got mine looked at yesterday, and the doctor said it was all right, so at least that’s good.
Good deal!
I was there in `78 (didn’t leave until 1981), but don’t remember it in particular; Northern Ohio and snow went together pretty well, not quite Buffalo-levels but still at least 1-2 good (1’-2’) storms each year.
Have managed to accomplish nothing this afternoon except eating, reading and watching several episodes of “Engineering Catastrophes” on the idiot box. Will play with my computer for a bit then wathc some tackleball before heading off to bed.
flytrap, for all our jesting here, driving in snow is hazardous, so everybody be careful now–and watch out for the other stupid ((&&^.
{{Midget}}. Roommates are like being married without the side benefits…
