Bracing for the holidays in the MMP

{{Sunny}} Take care of your ticker!

After crying myself to sleep last night because I was so damn worried about work, I talked to my boss today. Basically, I was hired to cover 1 1/2 people. I’m still learning my machine lines, so I’m only about 3/4 of a person yet. It takes me a little longer because I have more questions to ask; these are big, complicated machines and I just don’t know all the parts yet. But the work load is that of 1 1/2 people. I just couldn’t do it. So we’re shuffling some things around. I have a teammate who has some extra time. My boss also had some really great things to say about my work, so that alleviated some of my concern that I’m just failing at everything.

Yup. That’s the one. The motor is fine, but everything else is falling apart. In other words, it’s a Ford.

Very much this!

Now I need to get dressed and go move some compost around. whee!

Howdy Y’all! I procured vittles, came back to da cave, stowed them away and have been very happy to be inside. 'Tis cool, dreary, and wet outside. ICK! Just put four cored apples (honey crisps cause I like ‘em) in with the poke roast. Baby lima beans shall be the vegetative matter. Rolls, which are thawin’ as I post, shall be baked. A nice sup for a dreary day I feel.

Juliet glad you’re feelin’ better about irk.

The Old Wench is up some more points on me in the Death Pool.

If the neighbors miss her tell them she’s visiting her cousin in Florida.

For multiple reasons it wouldn’t get me any points but ------------

We have supped. ‘Tis rainy and chillish out. ICK! Glad to be inside and all warm and dry.
Ruble my picks are all healthier and happier than ever. Matter of fact, I’m sure they’re plannin’ a hundred year reunion.

doggio, adulterate Tully?

{{{Juliet}}} I’m familiar with the one and a half jobs, except now I’m on the other end of it. Three of us are doing what 16 once did.

It’s been an Eeyore day all day here to day. Cold, dark, rainy and dreary. I’m addressing my Thanksgiving cards this evening to mail tomorrow. They will go to some of the family and a few LOLs and LOMs on my list.

Howdy all. Managed to disconnect the VCR without shorting out anything, but still went and recycled it, several old keyboards, and about 6 mice. Then bought a new keyboard and multiple-outlet surge protector. Rain started about 11am and is still raining, so garbage will go out tomorrow morning (probably won’t be picked up until Firday, since Moanday was a holiday). Made a new list of things I have to do on the computer, so we’ll see if that list works as well as the other list(s) I made.

Juliet, glad you cleared the air at work and hope the stress levels are lower; you have two young children, that’s enough stress.

Ruble, I hear nothing! I see nothing!!

Sari, why is Ribble unhappy; the other dogs tease him or something?

FCM, you forgot red. And if you want fresh, brand-new rain, move down here!

blurf the usual holiday crap here for holidays here is starting … and its worse this year since I tried something a while back with out permission and it didn’t work out ……. But xmas around here is like those big old gaudy xmas’s from the 60s and 70s where its overdecorated and so much stuff bought that the kids cant tell ya what even got played with from the last xmas ……….

My aunts mom had 7 kids with 2 different husbands and the first set were shafted while the second set could do no wrong and got everything so no one got much for Christmas and shes determined to make up for it …. like we have 900 dollars worth of stuff here and on the way just for the “kids” and she not happy theres not more money to spend on them ……. and since my nephews gone the rest gets spent on the youngest grandson and my disabled cousin…(whos 42 physically and mentally about 7 or 8)

Canes Corner was fun. Pickd up some Deadeye Jack on the way home

Not really. I mean I’d like to try it with something Irish, but I can’t improve Tully, unless I can find a bottle of the 18 year old.

I don’t have a good relationship w/ him at all; he’s a jerk, & ass-chewing was all one direction.
Someone else invited me to his meeting. I kinda stopped the meeting with my question, “Hey, didja think about ___?” Ultimately, it was decided that that wasn’t an issue (we think), but it woulda blown sky high if it was. Point is, no one else thought of it but me, who he didn’t invite. :smack:

Can I get one as I’ve never even heard of Thanksgiving cards, let alone received one before. Also, LOLs & LOMs? I don’t believe they’re laugh out louds.

a redheaded lass?

You could pitch it & go for a bottle from their neighbors to the near north. Islay’s in general but Lagavulin is my favorite.

Spidey ----- I was no where near Littlestown. Honest!!!

Happy Thorsday!

No snow yet, but it’s cold outside.

I’m worried about the cat, he is outside somewhere, I’d rather he was in when it’s so cold.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work. Raininy and windy and 38 degrees out at the moment.

That would work ,sir!

The evil “s” word arrived. This, after the weather guessers on channel 7 said we’d just get rain. LIARS!!!

I’m pretty sure it was also sleeting when I drove in. I demand a recount! Autumn was totally bypassed and I am not amused!

Gonna be one of those days. Happy Thursday. :stuck_out_tongue:

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 48 Amurrkin and rainy out with a predicted high of 51 with rain this mornin’ and cloudy this afternoon. No where I need to be today so glad to be at da cave. I shall deal with some chores, make sup (turnin’ the leftover poke roast into bbq for sammiches along with fries and coleslaw) and general chillage. Sounds like a good plan to me!

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, we shall see what the day holds forth.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Now we have snow, it is already laying on the sidewalks.

According to my phone app the temp has gone from 34 feels like 28 to 30 feels like 23.

The cat is in and napping, the dog is still wiped out and sleeping.

Making tacos for my son for dinner. Or rather, I make up the meat part and he does the rest. Shrimp for me, I think I’ll cut up some ham to add to it.

MetalMouse, all the other dogs I see drag their owners into the daycare. Ripple is a momma’s boy.

I know what you mean, FCM. I have a light jacket that is perfect for the mid-range temps (40-60F) in the Fall; I’ve probably worn it 4-5 times max. Near freezing today, so the heavier jacket comes out now.

Garbage can has been hauled to the curb. In a bit I’ll head out to buy shoes (one pair athletic and one pair dress), which is the last item on my list. May also stop at Target for an item or two.

Sari, glad the cat made it in. It’s not a fit night out for man nor beast…

It’s murky and mizzly here today; not especially cold. I believe some snow’s expected up country later in the week, but not here.

We had a ‘student review’ meeting today, the slacker who shows up to maybe 1 lecture a week complained that the module information we were given at the start of the year was confusing and he couldn’t work it out- the information we spent the whole first week of classes going through. He didn’t show up until midway through the second week, but it’s their fault he didn’t understand

Still snowing, the road is covered, the cars are covered, I can’t believe this crap.
I thought it would be a light shower and done.

The temp is still dropping, now 28 feels like 21.
So glad I don’t have to go anywhere today.

At least the temps are supposed to go back up into the 40s.

Above freezing here at last. High will be 50F and stay warm for a while.
Snowed yesterday and last night, but did nit stick. I’m charging the battery on the generator, that will guarantee that the power won’t go out.
