Breath of the Wild 2 - 2022 [Now titled "Tears of the Kingdom"]

Naydra gives a good tour of the kingdom.

Not sure what that means, but I did actually see Farosh on the Great Plateau.

It was so weird to be on the Great Plateau again…this game is so strange and successful. I felt like visiting a place from long ago, but changed.

Gandalf: “I have no memory of this place.”

I just defeated the first dungeon of the game, the one related to Rito Village.

I’d say, for those wondering, that it was quite easy. I had 7 hearts and two additional stamina slices and I encountered almost no issues.

Boss was not too bad, dungeon was very easy to solve. I had to look up one little puzzle because I was solving it correct, but not using the object the game designers intended. Otherwise, no problem.

Very fun and man, the reward for defeating the dungeon is amazing!

You can ride Naydra

There is a storyline quest called “Mystery In The Depths”.

I found it to be incredibly vague about where I needed to go and what qualified as success enough to consider the mission done. The game asked me to go back to The Depths, follow where the statues lead me, and report back.

I had to use a guide just to figure out what would trigger the quest as finished.

I did it, and I won’t spoil it here, but be warned: I found it almost as vague as saying, “Go down there and find some stuff…the statues will ‘lead’ you…sort of.”

Yeah, I was working on that one this evening and finally just had to stop. I suspect I’ll send you going the guide route just to know what they the game is.

Yeah, I figured it out eventually. I don’t remember anything in my questline log that actually updated when I completed it. I told my daughter, “Uh, I guess that is it?” and indeed, the quest log had updated.

I’m not sure what to do with the depths now, to be honest. I get that the storyline from “Mystery in the Depths”(which I won’t spoil here) does continue, but other than going down other holes and finding lightroots. I’m mining Zoanite…but the exchange rate for battery cells is insane. It takes, I think, 900 Zoanite for a full new battery.

The game is fantastic, but I do find things here or there that are less than perfection.

Loving it, though. Absolutely a 10/10 from me.

Thank goodness for you tube videos. I am having a hard time putting the game down, but I have to go to work today.

I don’t wanna!!

I was minding my own business, making my way to a Skytower (with the help of a rocket and fan powered glider) when I was suddenly attacked by a moving Gloom blob with hands coming out of it. They grabbed me and drained all my hearts. I couldn’t figure out any way to escape or kill it.

Might be the scariest moment I’ve had in any Zelda game.

This happened to me on the way to the Great Plateau, which I wanted to see since it is where the game began last time. I agree. An all-time great scary moment in gaming and definitely a top scary moment for Zelda as a series.

I ran and eventually teleported out. I presume you can kill them if you launch everything at them.

I ran into one of those in some cave and oof. It took me down fast.

They did such a great job keeping everything secret about this game. I keep seeing things I had absolutely no clue were going to be in the game.

By having the same overworld map, it allows them to surprise us with what is there, what is not there, and what is happening.

I’m so much weaker. I have played 30 hours and I still get slammed by enemies. I find almost no ores to cash out and upgrading batteries is a huge task. It’s 1000 Zoanite(or 900, actually) in order to get a new battery. I even mine when I’m in the depths and have a hard time getting that.

I’m doing this godawful quest right now called “The Call From the Depths”.

You have to find four objects, throw(yes, throw/drop) them down into the depths at different points. Then, you have to retrieve them down there by jumping down and take each one to the same spot.

Easier said than done.

More of a huge pain than fun filled quest.

I finished The Call From The Depths and it was not fun.

The Depths, in general, are not my favorite aspect of this game. It’s impressive they have an entire second world map, but it is mostly barren.

This game is a ton of fun, but sometimes it is so damn hard. It’s also very stingy with certain things I like. Yet my inventory is stuffed full of stuff I have no idea what to do with.

I thoroughly enjoyed riding the skeletal horse in the depths. It rode right over all the gloom with no damage. I haven’t seen them in awhile though.

So far, the shrines haven’t been too difficult for me. I’m grateful for that.

The shrines definitely seem a lot easier than in BotW. Very straightforward. I’ve only found one that stumped me, but that might’ve been because I was up way too late playing.

I have lost count of the number of times I have tried to get to the wind tunnel. I can’t do it.

Even watching other people on YouTube is no help. I’m getting a bit frustrated with that aspect. It’s good there are so many other things to do, but eventually I’m going to need to figure out what I’m doing wrong or if I’ve missed a prerequisite or something. Grrr

Huh? Do you mean the wind temple? You did go with the little guy who says, “Strong Wind!” and gusts you, right?

I was poking around in a cave that had a shrine on the other side of a gap. The gap had quite a few shrooms and other goodies, so I hopped down to start harvesting, and BAM. For a split second, the hands made me think of Wallmasters. I’m not used to scares like that in a Zelda game; very well done. The music associated with the gloom is extra creepy.

I’m also having way too much fun attacking the updated Like-likes.

I just started fighting back against those. Neat.
