I did, however, think that someone who was going so far out of his way to demand sensitivity and apologies from people over nothing would engage in the very behavior he opened a Pit thread specifically to decry, namely, engaging in speech that has a molecule of “offensiveness” in it.

That idea is utterly ridiculous. If we say five minutes to write a post, that’s almost four entire days of non-stop posting, no stopping for food, drinks, having a life, letting real people “get to know me”, etc. Nuts.
I am presenting a real side of me. It would be a waste of everyone’s time and it would clog up the boards if I were to present every other side of me on these boards in a proportionally balanced manner. I’m not even sure that it would be possible.

Yes. You are to monitor your posts and respond to other’s questions if possible. Unless you reply to a poll where discussion usually isn’t to be had, you are expected not to drive-by post or thread shit. If you don’t want to follow up on what you have posted, don’t post. Very simple. As someone who indicated that you’ve lurked a while, please don’t pretend you don’t know this about the board.
Yes, it’s likely that a large portion of your posts* will not receive any response or will only receive responses that do not require a reply. You are still expected to check back and see if someone did question you. It’s a courtesy and if you don’t have time to participate in our community and show us that courtesy then please do fuck off.
*in threads you don’t start. If you start a thread, the proper care and feeding of that thread is your responsibility and you are expected to check back frequently and take care of it. Otherwise don’t start a thread.
