Probably about time for another haircut.
He obviously saw what was coming during their private moments and decided to pull the ejection handle before he went down in the plane with her.
Actually, she quite famously cheated on him with at least one guy (Wade Robson). They then spent a few years going back and forth, trying to get one another back.
Then he wrote Cry Me a River and now I’m pretty sure they are over
Then again, he has a song on his new CD that he hinted was about Britney-
Since, you know, the last song he wrote about her was less than nice heh.
Anywho, he supposedly really wanted to work with her on her comeback- there was even studio time set up with him and Timbaland, but Britney literally left them waiting and never showed. Since then, they’ve done nothing but talk smack about her.
Speaking of Wade Robson, does anyone know if he choreographed Chris Brown’s routine for the show? It seemed like his quirky style.
Not sure, but I do Chris Brown does a lot of his own stuff- he really is an incredibly talented kid (kid? he’s like three years younger than me heh).
You know, I actually thought it was weird that he was lip synching- as I’ve seen numerous performances of his where sang and danced his heart out. I’m thinking that perhaps MTV had him miming it so nothing went wrong during the show, since they’ve done this in the past.
For instance, I saw Chris Brown on the Today Show a few weeks ago and he was totally performing live. Requisite Linky. Watch for good stuff.
Or Diosa, could that last song he wrote be about Cameron Diaz?
It’s entirely possible, but I don’t think he wrote any mean songs about her over the years. I vaguely remember the producer of the track (Rick Rubin, I think?) doing an interview somewhere and more or less saying the song was about Britney. This was before the CD had come out though, so perhaps they were just trying to drum up interest.
Ah, if him having written a previous negative song was a requirement, then I’m sure you’re absolutely right. In my little pea brain, I was just going off the I-broke-up-with-you-now-please-take-me-back stance. And that’s exactly what I remember reading, was that Justin dumped Cam. Of course, I don’t really keep up with it, so it might’ve just been my imagination. Thanks.
The video wasn’t as horrible as I imagined it would be. Britney just seemed completely stoned. Speaking from some experience, it’s hard to walk in gym shoes when you’re crocked, let alone those 5 inch heels she had on. And if she’s fat, then I’m morbidly obese.
I hope she knows how to manage money. I’ve always thought that she was a very good, very pretty dancer who had a passable voice. But once she graduated from pop princess, the gig was up. How hard must it be to be a has-been at what, 23? If she had any sense, she would take her millions (she reportedly makes $715k per month), get married to a nice boy and raise her kids away from Hollywood.
On a related note, I avoid the VMAs because it’s like amateur night at the local bar. And does anyone else think it’s creepy that Tommy Lee and Kid Rock would be in the same building as teens and 20 year olds? Dudes, go hang out with your own generation.
That sad bullshit about Britney hearing Sarah Silverman rehearse her joke about her kids before poor widdle Brit was pushed stage is not true.
Does anyone have a link to her rehearsal other than the one in the thread here already? That one won’t work outside of the U.S.
Here ya go, another clip of the rehearsal thanks to Youtube.
But I do also have a link to this video, which may actually be the funniest thing I’ve ever seen. I seriously can’t stop laughing.
I have no particular dog in this fight, except to wonder at all the people so gleefully bashing Britney. Who knew before her fall that she had engendered so much resentment amongst the populace. And, FWIW, I don’t particularly believe the Silverman excuse being bandied about by some of her supporters, either - it looked to me like she was both ill at ease and underprepared. Still, the statement made by Silverman’s publicist smacks of dishonesty and verbal sleight-of-hand. Silverman would hardly have had to rehearse her “full” monologue for the alleged damage to have been done. A brief rehearsal including the Britney slurs (it would be a stretch to call them jokes) would have been sufficient for the damage, if such, to be done.
This “fat” busness is ridiculous. Britney Spears looked hotter than 99% of all women.
That second video is comedy gold!
Please permit me to hijack a bit for a moment;
The quoted perspective interests me whenever I see it. No one really thinks she is ‘fat’ compared to “all women”.
The word ‘fat’ is being used to refer to a *certain * woman. The kind of woman that makes her living peddling a certain, slim image, then pretends to still be pulling off that same image when she is no longer capable.
Now, I don’t have a problem with being fat. I am fat for real…not Hollywood fat, but FAT for real. But I have been complimented and callled sexy by some of the same people that would call Britney “fat”… and that is because we are judged by two different standards. The real life standard and the Hollywood, air brush, boob job, $4000 hair extension standard.
Britney has no problem with that Hollywood standard when she fits it… so we shouldn’t be surprised that folks are judging her by that standard now that she doesn’t, and is trying to pull it off as if she still does.
I think she would have been stunning in a corsette, or a bustier, by the way. And I think her face absolutely glowed.
That bikini would have been okay on her at the beach. But, she wasn’t at the beach. She was onstage in front of an in-house audience of nearly a thousand, and a TV audience of millions. She did not have her act together literally or figuratively, and one aspect of that was not realizing that she was in no shape to dance in that costume. It’s not how she looked intrinsically. It’s how she looked in contrast to two dozen or so no-name but professional dancers, all of whom looked better in their costumes than she did in hers, and some of the women were about six sizes larger than her.
Madonna got famous for performing in (what was seen at the time as) very little clothing onstage. As time went on, though, she changed her look many times. Sometimes that meant showing even more skin, but sometimes it meant covering up. Has Britney ever performed in a pinstriped suit? Or a thirties-style floor-length gown? Or a demure cotton print dress? Those are serious questions, actually; I really don’t know. But I don’t believe I’ve ever seen Britney wearing anything on stage that did not show her navel, a lot of cleavage, and sometimes most of her legs. NTTAWWT, but it doesn’t have to be her only schtick.
The music industry is even less forgiving than the movie business. As long as there are movies, actors will be cast in them. The movie is the product, and actors are necessary to create it. But in music, the performer is the product, and if producers don’t think there’s a market for it, too bad, so sad. Some of the women performing at the VMAs two nights ago were still struggling or not even in music when BOMT was a hit. Brit’s no longer a savior for the music industry. Why should anyone wait around for her to pull herself together when Rihanna and Fergie and Shakira have already passed her up?
It’s all about money. And Sunday night, Britney proved that she is not worth a plugged nickel to anyone who wants to move product.
Exactly. It wasn’t really her figure that was the problem. It was the fact that the costume was all wrong for her. To continue the Madonna comparison–if Madonna had to perform in a similar context and she was similarly a little flabby, you can bet that she would have made sure that she was in a costume that camouflaged her figure flaws and highlighted her assets instead of doing the opposite.
Yes, there is definitely a lack of professionalism on Britney’s part. But I really do feel sorry for her. I just don’t think she’s very intelligent.
Actually she has worn a suit, though a sexy one, in her video for Me Against the Music. cite Interestingly, it is a song she did with Madonna, who also picked out their wardrobe for the shoot. Britney and Madonna
Also, her promos for one of her tours involved a whole 30’s/40’s get up, though I can’t find a full length shot. Britney’s promo.
