Brody Stories by Soupo DeDay, age 8 1/2

I’m quite sure he can eat two.

Vunder Bob: cockies? Some sort of MMP joke I’m missing out on?

Swampy get tired of beer and cockies? Oh, yeah. That’ll happen.

Yes, a somehow appropriate typo from a while back.

And when it does, look out for the flying pigs!

Kythereia don’t be forlorn. I can eat two ham sammiches. Heck, I even made myself one (ham and cheese on rye with mustard) earlier. So that’s three sammiches I scarfed down, counting the one Anaamika made. I’m supposed to go to a fish fry tonight. The sammiches should tide me over nicely until then.

Anaamika it is an established MMP fact that I am overly fond of beer and cookies. Once Bobbio was making a beer and cookies reference 'cept he typed beer and cockies. All of us took a solemn vow to never let him live that one down.

I have this penchant for making typos that are hysterically funny and appropriate to the conversation du jour. Unfortunately it’s not deliberate, or I’d do it more often.

**Swampy **used to have a signature line that talked about naked men bringing him beer and cookies, and it became the topic of the moment. I had to say something about it, and it came out ‘beer and cockies’. Those in the boys who like boys wing of the MMP were all over that like ugly on a gorilla.

Because if he were a member, he’d hog up on the computer and I wouldn’t get to post. Kids are just greedy that way.

You mean the Offspring DeDay don’t have their own personal computers? You mean your house isn’t all networked together? You mean… you mean…

I don’t know where I’m going with this. It would have been funny, tho. Really.

Ana, check out this thread for the origin of ‘beer and cockies’. The part of interest is at the bottom of the first page.

taxi, I’m so sorry to hear about your granddad. :frowning:

I’m like Tupug–not much to say. It’s been a quiet week. I go to work, go home and work on other stuff, class on Wednesday, sleep a lot on the weekend. No synchronized noodling for me. I don’t have a pool. Or a noodle. Or a sequined thong.

It’ll be really cool when Soupo and The Boy are old enough to MMP. These kids have style! The turkey story was great (although I’m a little worried about all the “tokes” in there).

Bobbio, the job thing is very cool. Who wouldn’t want to shoot stuff into space? Can you start with Paris Hilton? Heck, I’d pay you to do that!

(giggle) But it doesn’t seem like anyone noticed in that thread. When did they first notice?

Good thing nothing ensued from that.

VBob, my ex has relocated back to the bosom of her dysfunctional family, in Grand Rapids. I’m pretty sure none of them would be able to function in any company that would hire someone with your skills, though. So I guess you’re safe from her.

Have I mentioned that I grew up SDA (Seventh-Day Adventist)? Both my grandmother and my mother were SDA all their lives. I went to church every Saturday and attended SDA schools. The result of all that? I haven’t been back to church since I was about 18.

I’ve never been to Grand Rapids, either.

I believe there are also lots of Dutch Reformed church members in the Grand Rapids area. Some of my best college friends live there and that’s who’s been toughest for them to deal with. They’re relaxed Lutherans, so they don’t quite fit in sometimes.

I’m another one with not too much to say today due to lack of time.

Sorry about your grandpa, taxi.

Greatly enjoyed The Boy’s stories.

Big project with stuff going into real life this weekend. Say prayers, cross your fingers, and/or think good thoughts at my crew and me, PLEASE!!! We’re probably working most of the time from now till Sunday.

Ah, the advent of some punctuation. I think George Carlin would like that second one.

When I was at Thanksgiving I ate turkey and 2 carrots and I ate choclte pie it was delishis. And the day before I went to Disney World and I went on some long rides and short ones and on the third day I went on a ride and I promise you will get very very soaked and geuus what after I went on the ride if you rubbed my hair the water would come out and my mom had a bad day her hair got very soaked my pants got soaked very soaked but I dident have to change my pants but I did have to change my shirt it was fun and scary and exiteing and on the fourth day I went to Disney world again well I went to Disney I think I went 6 times and those 6 day were very fun. I mean very very very fun it was wild my sister and my mom went on a very cool looking ride too infact it looked asome and on the last day I went to Disneyes Animal Kingdom there were real bones

2 questions, first is a 2-part question. 1) Is he now swampsammich, or simply sammich, and if neither, what should we call him now?

  1. Is he a cannibal for eating other sandwiches?

Shibb I’m lovin’ the latest stories from The Boy. I especially love the last one. The Thanksgiving/Disney story reads just like a little boy on a sugar high. It’s just f-aaa-bu-lous!

chaoticdonkey I don’t think Kythereia was waving a magic wand and casting spells to turn me into a sammich. She was merely assuaging the hunger pangs of a bear. That’s a good thing. A hungry bear is a [sub]even moreso than usual[/sub] grumpy bear.

I had a good time at the fishfry tonight. Lots of fish. Good fish. Catfish, brim, grouper and trout. Also, hushpuppies, coleslaw, tater (but not made from our taters) salad, french fries, baked beans and for dessert, lemon icebox pie. There was beer and iced tea to wash it all down with (I had only one beer, the rest of the time I drank tea. They even had unsweet tea, which, even as a diehard southerner, I prefer over sweet tea). ACBG and I rode out together in my 'Stang with the top down. The weather was perfect for that and the fishfry. Not ungodly humid today but warm. Then I took ACBG back to his house cause he has to get up real early tomorrow, bless his heart. So now I’m home trying to unwind a bit before going to bed cause I gotta work tomorrow too, but not so early as ACBG. Poor thing!

Yes, it’s like he wrote that whole 1+ page (in his big handwriting) in one breath. The best part is that we only spent maybe a day and a half at Disney, tops. He was too short to go on the “a(we)some” ride with his sister, although he’s tall enough now and it’s one of his favorites.

So what day is today? Usually I don’t lose track of the days this early in the summer, but I haven’t been watching tv and the SDMB is no help at all because the dates on the posts say ‘today’ and ‘yesterday’ which does me no good at all. I’m guessing today is thursday or possibly wednesday but I don’t think so.

Multiple sammiches for swampy is good 'cause then he can share with Boo Boo.

For dinner tonight I had fish tacos, yum. Shut up-- they’re good. Dessert was some Caramel Cone ice cream from Haagen Daz which I don’t usually buy because I don’t like ice cream companies that make up names just to sound fancy and Haagen Daz is guilty on all charges which is only one charge, but it counts double because they added an extra ‘a’ in their fake name. The only thing that would be worse is if they deliberately misspelled their made up name. Then I would have to throw things at them. Like butterscotch jello. What the heck? Is that butterscotch jello pudding or is there really butterscotch jello? I wouldn’t put it past 'em since they used to make celery flavored jello.

Also, I believe swampy, you need to re-think the tranquilizering your cow-orkers. It would not be efficient to go around tranquilizering all the individual workers. Very time consuming, ruckusy, expensive, and probably messy. So instead, next time you tranquilize yourself. Then the cow-orkers can go on being ninnies and you’ll be in a happy fuzzy warm pink cloud, drinking lizard foot flavored margaritas. Which is how I think Shibby’s kidlet gets his inspiration for his short stories. That, or he’s been playing in his dad’s mushroom farm in the basement again. Does anybody else get a mental image of a very young Hunter S. Thompson, wired on pixie sticks? Played by Johnny Depp of course, ‘cause the kid would be handsome, being an Oleth an’ all.

No! Don’t take my caffeine and sugar away! I am not either bein’ goofy and weird! You didn’t make **DangerGene ** give his back and he thinks he went to Korea!

I’m home today. But even if my car wasn’t still in the shop, I’d be home. I had a terrible night - took forever to fall asleep, and I kept waking up every 20 minutes or so, then I had a really weird dream, and on top of all that, the cat slept smack up against my left leg ALL NIGHT which means I was rather uncomfortable and confined to the edge of the bed. I tried to scooch him away, and he kept snuggling closer. I’m sure glad the dog was taught to stay out of our bed.

So in a little bit, I’m going to take a nap, and when I awake again, I’ve got chores. My inlaws will arrive tomorrow or Sunday (depending on the hurricane’s path) and I need to dust and vacuum and tidy and empty the dishwasher and buy groceries and probably more. Except for the bathrooms - my sweetie is going to do the bathrooms, which is good, because that’s about my least favorite chore. We’ll also have to mow when it dries.

My sweetie and I are going to a Jazz and Seafood Festival tomorrow. I’ve never had jazzy seafood, so I’m looking forward to it. Good times await!

 Ew. Gee, I wonder why they quit making that. Wouldn’t a fruit-cocktail-celery-jello salad taste good right now?
