Brody Stories by Soupo DeDay, age 8 1/2

I luurves me some butteryscotch puddin. Specially when it’s still warm from the pan. (None o’ that instant stuff…yetch!) Butteryscotch jello…not so much. Yetch!

I’m a wonderin what jazzy seafood would be like, too, fcm. Spose it’s made with a lotta BAM!!! like what Emeril would make or summit.

Ashes, I’m tryin to wrap my mind around fish tacos but it just won’t go…Yetch!

shibb, the boy don’t need no punctation! That’s fer growdups what haveta think too hard when they’s speakin. Good stories just roll right off the tongue, don’tcha know.

gt, all appendages crossed and sending good vibes!

Looks like we’re gonna dodge the hurricane bullet this time cept for some rain. But, hey! It’s the weekend. Doesn’t it always rain on the weekend? Just in case, though, the car’s gassed up, the generator’s got oil, the lamps and little TV gots battries, the grill’s gassed up. I’m ready.

Tupug

With all this talented kid stuff, I’m starting to think *Family Circus * with a lot of Billies.

“Bring your child to the MMP Day”

So, is it nature or nurture?

I just noticed I’m a 5-figure poster! When did that happen? How did I miss my 10,000th?? I had a confetti cannon all loaded and primed. <kicks dirt and pouts>

I notice after the big 1,000, you tend to stop noticing other landmarks except casually.

yeah, you’re right. I did notice at 98XX and thought “Wow, creeping up on 10K!” and promptly forgot. What’s more significant to me is my approaching 5th anniversary - next month! In computer years, that makes me ancient!!

Happy 10,000th post, FCM!

.:throws big handfuls of confetti:.

We’ll have a big party for your 5th anniversary, MMP-style. Lots of confetti, beer and cockies, maybe a few goats. Maybe a little synchronized noodling (but if we do that, I’ll have to get busy and find just the right outfit to wear. Gotta get that sequined thong!)

Puggy, I’m with you on the butterscotch pudding. It’s the best pudding ever (but only if it’s done right–there is only good and bad butterscotch pudding, there is no middle ground). Or maybe butterscotch and chocolate pudding together. Yum!

Happy Friday, everyone!
Today is mostly lazing around day. I might organize the freezers cause I didn’t do it yesterday. Bailey is sitting on the mousepad asking for worship. It interferes with Doping but he doesn’t know that, and if he did, he wouldn’t care.

Today Driving Husband, Quasi-Daughter, Attacks Things Randomly Husband and his girlfriend, and the Lissars are going out for dinner, and then gelato, and then dancing. Whee! The rest of the day is time-killing until the fun.

FCM, bad sleep sucks. My sympathy.

For those worried about my van, an update. The dealer doesn’t have the wires. I’m thinking he didn’t bother ordering them from the warehouse, even tho the van’s been there since noon yesterday. So we’re going over this evening to get it back, and I’ve got an appointment with a local garage where I’ll get a loaner while they fix it.

I used to really like the dealer. They’ve now officially ticked me off. Sheesh.

um, Rue, I just checked the NOAA Hurricane site and it appears Dennis is headed to Cincinnati on Wednesday. You better run out and get your bread and milk and toilet paper. Yeah, I know technically they’re blizzard supplies, but they work for hurricanes, too. Do take care of it - I’ll worry if you don’t. Because I care.

No, really, I care!

As an aside, my BIL who’s coming to visit is named Dennis. No relation to the hurricane, tho.

Battries, too. Must have battries folks. And ice. It’s a rule.

Tapioca pudding is the best, followed by chocolate.

FCM, my girlfriend is about fed-up with her car dealership too. That where she takes it for all the maintenance, driving from Virginia Beach to way out by Bobbio’s place in Newport News. She took it in a couple times to correct a noise, and finally they decided to replace the transmission. Three days of work, and she got a loaner. Then we went back to pick it up, and it wouldn’t make a left turn without sounding like the whole steering system was going to fall apart. So they bring it to her at work the next day, with the story that the mechanic who put everything together had left a socket in the steering area. Mr. Goodwrench my skinny white butt!

Gulf Coasters, stay safe and hunker down. Hope none of y’all get washed away this weekend. Same goes for the Cincinnati folks too.

I just want to point out that I am sitting here eating s’mores ice cream out of the tub. I think all of you should envy me. Also, I’m half-way through a just-published book that I think is quite good- it’s Women of the Raj by Margaret MacMillan. It’s about British women in India from the mid 18th century through the 1920s. Very interesting. She wrote Paris 1919.

I wanna know how FCM gots 8,000 more posts than me and she only joined a month ahead of me?

It’s raining like a flat cow drinking Rolling Rock, or something, here right now. Gonna be a very slow day.

Wife says that when my Mom goes home we gotta go back on our diet. Seems there’s more to me than there used to be.

Today’s our 16th anniversary.
#3 Granddaughter (the 8-yr-old) was at the shop with me this morning and she decided we need to make an anniversary present for Wife. So we made a small lotion with Baby Rose and Lilac fragrance oils. and #3GD hand-make a card with crayons. Wife loved it.

Yay** Bumba** and bride! Lessee, 16th anniversary is silver holloware and the stone is peridot. So yeah, I think granddaughter #3 had the better idea. Holloware? Maybe FCM will let you use her confetti cannon since she’s got it all loaded and everything.

Sean is correct, tapioca pudding is the best, I especially like it with big tapioca blobbies because it’s more fun to play with. I do likes me some butterscotch pudding though it has to be homemade because I’m a butterscotch snob. Sadly, I have no recipe
for my gramma’s real butterscotch pudding.

I thought you were supposed to get plastic wrap and duct tape for emergency storm things. Wrap yourself up and you would be quite dry. Dead, but dry. So it’s possible I don’t have that quite right.

Congrats on the big post milestone FCM. I’m not sure I’ll ever reach that milestone, though I tend to blab on about nothing and everything all at once.

Happy Anniversary Bumba and Den Mum!

Tapioca pudding is well, okay. Not a fan of butterscotch though. Maybe it’s because the only butterscotch pudding I’ve ever had was that Snack pak stuff they used to put in cans when I was little. It was icky. I happen to like rice pudding, homemade rice pudding that’s still all warm and cinamonny. Mmmmmm…

Well, in 10 minutes it’s time to go home. Thank goodness, because it’s been nothing but a week of really, really, really, really, really bad Mondays.

I won’t get to go straight home because I need to stop at the grocery store and get some vittles for fixing dinner tonight. I have absolutely no clue as to what I want to make. Wait, let’s reword that sentence. I have absolutely no clue as what I MUST fix for dinner tonight. I can’t really get out of cooking, I was taken out last night.

Everyone have a good weekend, and for those of you in Dennis’ reach, stay safe!

P.S. scout, check your yahoo email account. I sent you something.

Is that what the B stands for in ACBG now? I could have always sworn that it was “Burly”.

Beer and cockies! Yay! (although I’m picturing the tastes together in my mouth, and I’m getting something less than pleasant.)

I really want some rice pudding now. I was going to post and say that I didn’t really have a favorite pudding, but rice pudding may take the… umm… cake.

Or bread pudding, which is really good too.

I thought of the best money-making scheme ever today.

Ok, what’s the biggest pack of crayons that Crayola’s ever offered? 128? Let’s double it and add some. 300 pack. The kids will go nuts for them.

The catch? All of them are the same color. Saves us time that would be spent naming them, time that would have been spent setting up machines to make different colors, everything. We could even just not dye the crayons, and give them 300 “wax-colored” crayons.

We’d put Crayola out of business, we would.

(Side note: I couldn’t find any thongs at Wal-Mart today. Methinks that I’ll have to… order underwear online.)

chaoticdonkey, that one-color crayon idea sure is…interesting.

My favorite homemade pudding is chocolate, with a little bit of molasses and extra cocoa. Yum. Mostly I cheat and get fat-free Jell-O chocolate pudding which isn’t half bad. Haven’t had buttescotch pudding in a long time; never had it from scratch. Guess I need to go look for a recipe.

Felt like I slept in today: didn’t wake up till 6:30. That is sad. Tomorrow’s goal is: 7:30.

I get to go into work relatively late today. We’re meeting at 11:30 to nail down our implementation plan an make sure we’ve got all our new workflows planned out and our communication plan finalized. We’ve implemented this in lightning speed. It’s been challenging, but exhausting. Good thing I find this stuff interesting and important.

Where are all of the MMPers? There was one reply between 9:40 last night and 8:15 this morning.

gardentraveler: Waking up at 6:30, then making a lucid post at 6:31? :dubious:

It’s the weekend…people are generally around on far different schedules, if at all. And it was 7:30 my time when I posted. The computer isn’t that close to my bed. Also, it generally takes a while for lucidity to set in. Some would argue it never does.
