He was just involved in a car accident with a fatality. I’d say he’s having a pretty bad time right now but I think the lady in the other car has him beat.

I just don’t think he’s going to make a very pretty woman (lady?) at all. Maybe if he’d transitioned about 30 years ago there might have been a chance. Maybe he’ll surprise me. Well, at least he’ll probably have plenty of designers throwing stuff his way.
I kind of feel bad in a way, for people who start transitioning so late in life. I mean yes, of course it’s good that eventually they got to the point where they could be their true selves on the outside. Better late than never. But man, to have spent so many years in the wrong gender, that’s got to be rough.

I’d say that it’s going to be Jenner’s fault; his Escalade bumps the woman’s Lexus from behind.
Which would have been no more than an embarrassment, except that she was bumped into a head-on with a Hummer.
The passenger compartment of the Lexus is almost completely intact - bashed rear, smashed front but the “cage” did its job, as did the airbags. She must have been too fragile to take the pounding even though she was as protected as a person can be in such an accident.
But yeah, bad for Jenner. Much worse for her.
I heard it reported that Jenner wasn’t being harassed by paparazzi at the time. (However, if anyone is interested in seing photos of the immediate aftermath, oh yeah, we got those! :dubious: )
It looks like he hit the Lexus, shoved it into the Prius, which deflected the Lexus across the suicide lane into the H-thing. That is not a “bump”, that is a pretty hard hit.
That is a pretty tasteless thing to say. Even about a celebrity.
There’s a joke in there about “women drivers” in there that should show up in at least one late night night show this week…

It was referred to a Transgender Fender Bender by one Comic that I know of.
The report said that the Lexus first rear-ended the Prius.
The site of the accident is at the bottom of a pretty steep hill on a road on which people commonly drive quite a bit over the speed limit anyway. Also, the site is just a bit ahead of the first traffic light since quite a ways back. So:[ul]

Anytime I’ve ever been driving through that spot, I can tell you that I was definitely driving significantly over the speed limit. Irresponsible, yes, but also not at all atypical. Anyone moving along with the speed of traffic at this spot is usually speeding- particularly if they’re in the left lane as was the case with this accident.
The Prius stopped or slowed for some reason.
The Lexus was probably speeding (only a guess on my part but certainly typical at this spot per my experience) and because of the speed wouldn’t have had sufficient reaction time to avoid rear-ending the Prius. Jenner, in the Escalade, would have had even less reaction time since, presumably, the Lexus came to a very sudden stop given that it stopped by rear-ending the car ahead of it.
Of course there is blame to pass around, but I can’t really demonize anyone here. Yes, driving the speed limit and maintaining a safe following distance should all but guarantee avoidance of a rear-end collision but these are the kinds of transgressions that so many otherwise decent people are guilty of on a regular basis. It’s horrible accidents like this that really show how dangerous these day to day transgressions can be.
Certainly, Jenner was guilty of nothing more than the victim was guilty of when she rear-ended the car ahead of her.
Really it’s just sad and tragic for everyone involved.
I thought we were going to stick to male pronouns until Jenner himself made a formal announcement…? If only to avoid confusion with pronouns switching from post to post. Also, as I noted a number of posts ago, we don’t really know what’s going on with Jenner and out of respect we should wait for what he has to say about things. If Jenner really is transitioning there will be some sort of official statement at some point, presumably when Jenner is ready for that step.
That statement did not use a pronoun for Jenner. All those 'she’s and 'her’s are for the female driver who was killed.

Bruce Jenner – Car Crash Photos Could Create Problems for Jenner
Supposedly Jenner will reveal his* female name in the Sawyer interview.
He will whisper it in her ear and Sawyer may repeat it only on high holy days.
*No disrespect to the TG community- I’m just not sure which pronoun to use for the time being.
Meh.
If Bruce wants to be Belinda, that’s her choice and I’ll respect it. I have all kinds of questions. OTTOMH they’re none of my business- and most will be addressed in the Sawyer interview. I am, seriously, more bothered by the news that Jenner smokes.
Stoid Explains it All For You
FINALLY I get to say it to anyone, anywhere, without dicking around about it…
In the 80s, I worked for Jenner’s business manager, and at one point I was the assistant bookkeeper on Jenner’s account.
Speaking from this authority, I can tell you that:
A) He made about a million a year. And he spent every single dime and then some. It took roughly $100,000 to cover his monthly nut. He liked planes and similar toys. It cost. He had nothing socked away, and his income was shrinking, not growing.
B) He had taken the first tentative steps to making the transition from male to female in the late 80’s. He came into the office and met with his bookkeeper and the boss and laid it all out.
So yeah, he’s always wanted it. And as we’re now hearing, Kris talked him out of it.
I thought it was very interesting that his first two wives were super-duper girly, and the marriages crumbled. He hooks up with dyketastic Kris, and they last for a few decades. Made a lot of sense to me… he wanted to BE his first two wives.
He also decided not to go ahead back then because of his boys. He decided it would be too hard on them.
So there you have it.
Wow, this was his dream for a long time. Well it is interesting that it is happening now, makes me wonder if Kris just wants to manipulate the shit out it to get a piece of the publicity.

In other news Bruce/Belinda car accident isn’t going away.
There’s a certain ironic coincidence with a Mad Magazine parody of “The Hulk” TV show from a long time ago. In the comic book the main character is named Bruce, but on the show it was David. There’s a scene in the parody where this is explained that the TV execs didn’t think ‘Bruce’ was a manly enough name so they changed it to ‘David’. David is wearing a dress in the scene and in the background is a TV tuned to the Olympics where the announcer is saying “Jenner wins the decathalon! Bruce is the World’s Greatest Athlete.” The writers are poking fun at the execs, but decades later it seems they may have been onto something.
