Not reassured, at all. They need adult supervision, seriously.I shall continue to worry.
We’re going to leave by 10 tomorrow, so we’ll hit the hotel by 6. We’re both ready to be home. It’s been really hard on FCD seeing how much his parents have declined, and especially since they refuse help. But there’s nothing we can do.
Howdy Y’all! I did the things, slothed, achieved nappage, we made sup and cleaned up afterward. Thus was the day.
sunny love Beamer’s Beaker costume! I bet he was a hit.
MOOOOOOM FCD and you are doin’ all you can do for the in-laws/‘rents. It sucks to see it all happenin’, but take heart in knowin’ you’re doin’ what you can for 'em.
flyboy sounds like a nice, but spendy, day.
VanGo as one who would rarely, if ever, rant up in here I know how you feel. Still, this is a place where it is fine to do so should you feel the need.
shoe hope you et up what you took with you.
red sounds like Nelson knows how to work the room, or drive thru!
Evening all. Soccer games have been cancelled already for tomorrow, so looks like the season will end with a whimper, not a bang. They are still planning to run a 10U Boys tournament, so I’ll have a game to referee on Saturday and another on Sunday. High tomorrow is supposed to be 55F, so may have to get the long-sleeve ref shirt out.
nellie, thanks to you I learned a new word today–puncta–don’t think I’ve ever heard it before. Enjoy the sun while you can.
Sunny, love the costume.
Flyboy, hope you have some money for the weekend…Seattle is expensive (I guess most any big city is). And I finally figured out SWMBO–and I’ve been a long-time Rumpole fan, should have known it.
Nut, sometimes our brain farts work to our advantage. As for the pub, there’s always tomorrow…
talky, hope the eye problems for both you and husband-unit get worked out with minimal difficulty.
OK, some internettin’ and some Sudoku solving remain for the evening. All y’all take care.
Forgot one not-so-minor incident. Today, MIL emptied the dishwasher, but it hadn’t been run. I got a dirty plate and greasy knife at dinner, and later, I pulled a dirty spoon out of the drawer. Ick! How do you handle that? How to tell her what she did? It didn’t register at the time, but thinking back, I know she hadn’t run the dishwasher since last night.
We probably won’t get sick, but ick anyway. And who knows how much that happens. It’s not good.
Thanks for all the love Mumpers. I had a lazy day. In fact, I can’t think of a single thing I accomplished except loading the dishwasher.
Mooommm y’all do be safe. Glad you’re not doing the straight through drive.
I think I’d like to try contacts but I get nervous just thinking about sticking something in my eyes on purpose.
Great costume Sunny but I must admit to not knowing who Beaker is. **Red ** sounds like Nelson is a charmer. My Buddy boy has gotten a bit move loving towards me now that I am home with him all the time. He will actually sit in my lap now and be still. He demands a lot of attention though.
So I assume the “bomb cyclone” is over in the PNW? Some storm.
Happy weekend to those for whom it matters. I am one month into my sloth. I love it so far.
I got another notice from the IRS. It still says I owe the same amount of money. The CPA told me I’d get such a notice and not to be upset, so I’m not, but I AM surprised it took TWO FULL MONTHS just to get the same notice. They’re supposed to respond to my appeal within 90 days. Can I charge them a penalty if they don’t
I thought of MetalMouse at the grocery store today because I saw liver sausage (braunschweiger for you fancy-schmancy types).
I was remiss: VanGo, glad you’re not going to delete posts. Please don’t hesitate to post anything. One thing I love about the MPSIMS is the come-as-you-are acceptance. The MPSIMS should borrow Evergreen State College’s motto: Omnia Extare (Let It All Hang Out). And our theme song should be the one from Cheers: “You want to go where people know people are all the same.”
Sunny, I LOVE the Beaker costume! SO great! If I were judging a costume contest, I’d give that one an award.
I don’t know if it was a bomb in my neck of the woods so much as it was six days of rain, with one of those days bringing a wind storm as well. Taters, flyboy, @nightshadea, et al may have had different experiences. Happy slothing!
I did. Hope my laughter didn’t get on your nerves. My sister says, “It’s a good thing you laugh at your own jokes, Nellie…” I leave you to fill in the rest.
I did, thanks, and then some - got a few ribs for First Dinner.
Right now I’m about to have a meatloaf’n’taters TV dinner for Second Dinner. About to crash.
We went to see Last Night In Soho tonight. The new owners of the restaurant our usual after-movie Japanese food still don’t have their liquor license, so we went to the sushi place next to the theatre where the sushi is on a conveyor belt that snakes around. Food’s better at the other place, but I did have a Sapporo.
The kitchen wall is mostly painted. Mrs. L.A. wants to do some more mudding around the door. I was going to put the baseboard on and move the refrigerator back, and put the cabinet and countertop back, in the morning. I had a bourbon though, and decided to just do it. Yay! I still have to do the dishes, and then wash all of the utensils that are in the cabinet drawers.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave. it’s my Firday. Firefox got weird and ate yesterday’s post, so {{{{hugs}}}}. noogies, fist bumps, cocktails to all.
Up early again, of course. FCD is going to take his brother to work, then gas up the car. After I shower and dress, I’ll start packing. The credit union opens at 9 and we need to get some cash to pay the electrician when we get home. (He finished the work in daughter’s house, and he’ll do the outbuilding in a few weeks.)
We’re both ready to be home. So I guess I’ll get up and get started. Happy Saturday!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 52 Amurrkin out and mostly clear (partly murky?) with a predicted high of 67 and cloudy for the day. I agreed, in a moment of obvious insanity, to assist with cookin’ burgers and dawgs this evenin’ over to the church house. ‘Tis “Trunk or Treat” night and the men’s group is makin’ foodstuffs for all those who are passin’ out treats to the little candy beggars. It’s all outside (duh!) and as I understand it, it will be a drive through event where the sugar dealers will give out candy to the sugar junkies as they, well, their 'rents, drive through. Whole thing is supposed to last an hour. I usually avoid this at all cost. Other than that sloth is on the agenda.
MOOOOOOM YIKES! Hope the dish thing does not happen too often. Have a safe trip back to Merrielande.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.
Up, caffeinating and breakfasting. I have a MP sale to meet at 10:30 and a haircut at two, but the rest of this dreary, drizzly day will be devoted to sloth.
