I’d like Trump to come back on Twitter after his suspension, shoot himself in the foot a few times more, giving more arguments for the 25th amendment or impeachment, and then get banned for good.

I’m actually kind of wondering if someone finally gave him a come-to-Jesus talk or ultimatum to shut up. Maybe “we won’t 25th you or impeach + convict if you just hang it up now.”

It’s a great idea—totally derailed by the fact that men don’t wear hats anymore. So no profile-in-the-door could look like Fred. Donald couldn’t be fooled the way Wolfgang was.
You’d need some major make-up and acting to get the look and the voice right.
And after going to all that trouble, the odds are that Donald would look at “Fred,” intone ‘fake news,’ and turn back to the TV set.

Actually, that’s kind of exactly what he is, except the ransom is related to his social media access.
Funny, isn’t it, how an active, unfolding threat to American stability doesn’t register with him and cause him to change his behavior — but you take away his twitter channel, and he straightens himself up right away.
It’s also funny, in a dark sort of way, that if he had managed to control his worst impulses over the course of the pandemic, and managed to sound the way he sounds and say the things he says in this new video — sober, flat, acknowledging actual facts — if he’d been able to rein himself in and present himself like this over the course of the last year, even occasionally, he would, almost certainly, have legitimately managed to win re-election.
