Well, Saturday night would be better for Mr. Seawitch, but it really depends on what works best for thinksnow.
I work about 3-4 blocks away from the airport, so drop me an e-mail if you want chauffeur service from the flight to the hotel. Warn me early so I can clean out the car! If you have a lot of luggage, I’ll drive the truck that day. 
I am totally free and clear, as I’m counting on having either purchased, or declined the purchase of, the car Friday evening.

Well, the summer traffic is already terrible, so a place in Laguna Beach or Newport may be out just because you won’t be able to get there or park!

Salt Creek Grill, PCH in Dana Point
Maggiano’s- Italian, South Coast Plaza in the middle of the Sears parking lot!
Javier’s Cantina- PCH in Laguna Beach
The Crab Cooker- totally casual, but great seafood- Balboa peninsula in Newport Beach
Split Rock Tavern- El Toro Rd, by the Laguna Hills Mall

A place that’s REALLY close (like, across the street) is the Claim Jumper. Big, good food and potent drinks.
I’m gonna agree with the really close idea. I’m not afraid of summer traffic!
Ooh, Claim Jumper. Sounds good, and I won’t have to worry about getting (more) lost.
Next step, can we agree on a time?
There’s also a Lounge inside the Holiday Inn where they have live music on the weekends. But the Claim Jumper is an awesome place too, it just gets really crowded. I’ve got band rehersal until 8 so wherever you all decide to meet I hope to be there around 9 or so.

I will also be a little late as dreamer and myself will both be at the same band rehearsal. We are probably looking at between 8:30 and 9:00. But we will be there.
Hrm. The car wash will indeed be over, but I have post-car wash duties with the same group (the Long Yang Club - San Diego for anyone who might be interested). It’s not so much I’m in charge, as everyone lets me take charge.
Sorry I’ll miss ya, think. You have still inspired me, however, to get a Straight Dope t-shirt one of these days…

A friend of mine from work is able to jumpseat (read: fly for free) and has nothing better to do this weekend, so count one more for dinner.
I think (no pun intended) we may be okay to go…hubby isn’t home right now so I can’t ask just yet, but we’re a…uh…definite maybe.
