Well - the title may be a bit of an understatement…so here it goes.
Mr. skittles and I recently found out we are expecting our first mini skittle this November 9th. I’m super early in the pregnancy, but this has been much wanted! I was always told that I would have trouble conceiving. Well, just three short months of trying and TADA! Right now the baby is about the size of a sesame seed – but already giving me much nausea and sleepless nights.
Next, I started my graduate schoolwork last Monday. I’m getting a Masters in General Psychology – but may switch over to Social Cultural Psychology soon. I’m totally interested in my school’s Forensic Psychology Program but it doesn’t have an ounce to do with my job. I do not exactly wanting to change fields, as I like what I do – but that stuff really interests me.
Finally, Mr. skittles started a new job today. He typically works over nights and is trying a day job. He hasn’t worked days in over 14 years! AND – this new job is in a totally different field of work. I’m wondering if he will like it, or if he will go back to nights.
WOW – I am not sure I can pack much more into my life at this very moment! When it rains, it pours!
Congrats on the full and busy life. I hope all goes well.
Congrats skittles. Do you have prefered flavour?
Thanks for the congrats.
Now for my favorite skittles flavor - I really like all of the original ones. I’m not fond of the sour ones at all! YUCK!
Based on the thread title, I was going to post a Futurama quote, but it seems a tad bit inappropriate.
Congrats on the little one!
I meant boy/girl flavour but I can see that I missed with my post.
As an aside, nice to see another one who favours original skittles flavours.
Thanks everyone.
I just wish being tired would go away. AND - I’d like to keep my stomach contents in one place.
Sorry about that! I totally didn’t get the question. I would like more than one child - so if I could have my way I’d start with a boy, then a girl. mr. skittles says he doesn’t want girls. He says he remembers what he was like at 15/16 and he would hate to think some boy would think like that about his daughter.
We’d actually be happy with either flavour - as long as it is healthy!
(Gazing into my crystal ball …) Beginning in about 8 months and continuing for the next 20 years, you will look back on this time with fond nostalgia and refer to it as “when our lives were simpler”.
Congratulations on your pregnancy! Here’s hoping it is a smooth, uncomplicated one and that your child(ren) is/are bright, happy, well-behaved and intelligent. You have just embarked on the journey of a (literal) lifetime. Enjoy the ride.
