You will note that Cecil’s post in this thread was noted as being his 88th. But so was his post in this thread .
I don’t know if this is the correct thread to post my theory, but I’ll do it anyway. Cecil, inspite of Ed Zotti’s denial, is the pseudonym for Ed Zotti. This malarky about getting so drunk he’d say anything. Baloney. Malarkey. Also throw out another fact that was slightly incorrect given by the same investigator. Another diversionary tactic. Note that Ed posts the same announcements in all the threads at times, similar to Cecil’s using the same total posts in various posts.
Further, I made a detailed analysis of the writing styles of both Ed Zotti and Cecil Adams, and have concluded that they both were written by the same person – on the same computer – in the same building (but at different times). 
I don’t quite follow your post sequencing theory. You are aware that, when you post in a given thread, your post count increases automatically and simultaneously in all of the other theads in which you have previously posted, aren’t you? If you check in my thread, where you’ll also find a post by Uncle Cecil, you will note that the post count is the same. That’s the way it goes.
Or maybe there’s a subtlety in your reasoning which I did not grasp…

I’ve never read a post by Cecil denying that he is Ed Zotti.
The one saying that is you, junior. I hardly think you merit a response from Him about anything.

Obviously, Ed is either telling the truth or lying.
If he’s lying and he’s really Cecil, then that would mean that Cecil’s lying. We can take it as axiomatic that Cecil never lies, right? (If not, why did you imply that a denial by Cecil would be useful?) Since Cecil can’t lie then Ed can’t be Cecil. QED
If he’s telling the truth then all is well and good and right with the universe.
So, you’ve either got a universe-destroying paradox, or a simple statement of fact.

Well, last year I invited Cecil to my daughter’s cornet recital, and he said he had to wash his hair that evening.
I later found out that he had been seen in a series of Chicago hotspots well into the night, with a redhead on one arm and a platinum blonde on the other, balancing a fifth of Haitian rum on the tip of his nose.
Do “little white lies” count?

But mainly I was trying to offer Cecil a straight line, so he’d say something to me.

See, all these dilemmas can be solved by assuming that everyone other than Cecil is lying.
It’s like all the nasty physics stuff that goes away if you assume that the speed of light in space (away from gravity sources) is a constant.
That is not responsive. You said who do I believe, Cecil or some putz? Well, since Cecil never said anything concerning his identity, it’s not an “either or.” However, since Ed said he was not Cecil and you said who do I believe, the logical conclusion is that Ed is Cecil. Altho Cecil does not lie, Ed might.
I never asked for a response and whether I “merit” a response is also not responsive.
