Can we please have a better week in the MMP?

This is a good site I use to get the lowest prices for my prescriptions. Used it literally hundreds of times for myself and my home care clients. Never had a problem and never had a pharmacy refuse to honor their ‘coupon’ price.

https://www.goodrx.com/

Download it to your phone or tablet and look up your drug, find out which pharmacy in your area offers the best price and show them the ‘bin’ info-in my neck of the woods there are pharmacies where your lisinopril is .30 cents for a months worth! Lots where it is $4.00.

Once my pharmacy has the ‘bin’ info for a script of mine in their computer in my account I don’t have to show the ‘bin’ screen again for refills.

I sent GoodRx to another Doper (not a Mumper) and he saved over $200 a month for a script he’d been paying through the nose for and having to drive 80 miles round trip to pick up.

Here’s what the ‘bin’ coupon pricing screen looks like for lisinopril in my neighborhood.

(There’s a premium tier that you can pay an upgrade for but it isn’t at all necessary)

Nelson is unbearably cute! :Skritches:

OK, how creepy is this: I posted a comment in FB on an article about the republicans who appear to be in Putin’s pocket. Mostly, I’ve just gotten a bunch of likes on it, then I got this:

Hi < my name >, how are you? Sorry to infringe on your privacy. Your charming profile photo is irresistible, your look tells a lot of a nice and caring person. Hope to read from you.

OMG! This is why you don’t put any personal info on your public profile. My account is Friends Only, so I’m not worried about weirdos stalking me for reals, but ICK!!!

It’s probably not stalking. Probably phishing.

Yeah, probably. I’ve gotten a few similar messages in the past from random people. When I’ve looked at their profiles, they seem to be recent accounts. I assumed they were lonely, but I never considered phishing.

Happy Firday!

It was a chilly 34 degrees this morning.
My son got off at 6, and had it not been chilly, I would have dropped him off and gone straight to the park.
I skipped the park because of drama.
I need to talk with Lucy dad, but he won’t sit with us if Barky is there. We have some things to talk about that he says is too much for text and he doesn’t like to talk on the phone.

FCM those messages are scammers. I know a few who were unfortunately taken in by them. They will tell you they are in the military, (or a contractor in the oil industry) in a foreign country, but they are close to retirement/coming home. They will talk you up, tell you they are lonely (usually they are widowers and have a child in boarding school), how when they get home, they want to get married and raise a family.
Once they have you hooked, requests for money start coming in. Did you know the US military will not pay for them to come home? Nope, they have to pay their own way. Or they have to pay (bribe) the person who is holding their passport. Or their employer hasn’t paid them yet. Whatever the reason, they have already shown ‘proof’ that they are wealthy, just the money is tied up in some way, but they would surely pay you back when they get home.
I know a woman who talked with at least three of them, just to relieve the boredom during lockdown. It’s like they have a playbook, you know exactly what they are going to do. She had a lot of fun playing them as they were trying to play her. She liked to string them along once they asked for money, and of course there was always some reason she couldn’t send it that day. Or she sent it and had no idea why the transaction didn’t go through.
Sadly, there are women who fall for it.
I had a very hard time telling an older woman I know that it was a scam. I didn’t want to embarrass her or make her feel stupid, but she had already lost a considerable amount of money. She was recently widowed, lonely, and vulnerable. She really believed the man would marry her, buy her a nice house, and support her for the rest of her life.

Nelson is so cute. I think he’d probably like playing with my two pups.

I take lisinopril, I usually pay nothing for it.
My thyroid pills on the other hand…
I have to find a new PCP, since the current one doesn’t take Medicare.
That makes me grumpy.
Then again, everything makes me grumpy.

Yes, MetalMouse, my ‘sister’. I disowned her years ago.
Unfortunately, when my mother passes, we are probably going to have to talk at some point. My nieces say she wants to make up. I can be civil.

I have to call OAOASO. He owes me money. He’s in a rough spot right now as another roommate died and he lost that income. He always wants to rent big houses, and get roommates to split the cost. I’d rather live in a small place and not have to depend on other people.
I don’t know what he is going to do. The first roommate that died was his best friend since 1st grade, and this roommate was that friend’s father. Now he’s going to have to get people he doesn’t know well to move in, or find another place to live.
Of course, it’s not my problem.

We at the office just had the training from this company.

Here’s their page on Social Engineering.

We recently spent 1.5 weeks in the PNW, and stayed in a rented vacation home. We used their washing machine to clean all our clothes before we packed up and returned home. When we unpacked, we discovered all our clothes smelled like mildew. I’ve run them through our washing machine, but the smell is still there. The top I’m wearing to work today is particularly smelly.

How do you get rid of mildew smell? I’ve always lived in a Mediterranean climate, so I’ve never had to deal with it before.

A few years back, a guy contacted both me and my sister. He was a “doctor” according to his profile. I just blocked him, but she played him for a while. He couldn’t have scammed her anyway - she’s got next to nothing. I think she strung him along for a couple of weeks before getting bored. I can find better ways to relieve my boredom.

Sous vide teriyaki poke chops were yum! But I haven’t quite figured out how much dry rice will cook up to 2 servings for us - it’s looking like a tad over a quarter cup should do it - a half cup was too much. But it’s all cleaned up, dishes are in the dishwasher, and I have about an hour to kill till I have to go watch Tobester. Time to read!

It’s such a shame when that sort of thing happens. That’s why I wondered if there were now ways to buckle dogs in, I’ve been unfortunate enough to see a dog thrown out of a cars window once. Our cat carrier gets buckled into the front seat and then the seat is moved forward so the carrier is pinned between dashboard (passenger seat airbags are shut off) and seat back. If we are in an accident, I don’t want that carrier becoming a projectile.

Nelson was born a cutie and hasn’t changed!

nettie hubs was on Lisinopril and his only side effect was a dry cough. He’s on something else now but he still has that annoying cough. I’m so glad the meds have worked to lower your BP to more acceptable levels. I’ll bet your DH is seriously relieved at the news, poor man must be worried to distraction.

Even without having outdated notions, it’s always better to have two people listening than one. Take notes if needed and then you can show them to your husband later if needed. Overlyboy sounds like he’s being pretty good at following medical advice, I hope his recovery continues. Poor kid must be bored to tears…

Living in the desert, mildew isn’t much of a problem for us but my suggestion would be running them through the washer again with a strong vinegar rinse. I’d probably toss in a full cup of white vinegar into the rinse and then run them through another rinse to get rid of the vinegar smell. Are you able to hang them outside? Strong sun usually kills mold and mildew fairly quickly.

I have the house to myself today, hubs went over the mountain to visit his friend. They go out to lunch and then hubs takes his friend to do some shopping. The man is paying thousands of dollars a month to live in a care center that supplies meals but refuses to eat in the dining room because a lady down the hall from him got sick from the food once.

I was planning to go to JoAnns and get ribbon for my project, but today is Friday and a lot of folks get off early. Since retiring I’ve become very reluctant to be out and about when I know there will be large numbers of working folks around. They are always in a rush because they only have a small window of time to get shit done. I have all the time in the world, so I’ll go on Monday.

Well, guess I’ll just have to sit out on the porch and watch the birds then. It’s my day and I’ll waste it how I want, LOL!

I was planning on a day at home, but I got a message that a delivery of some stuff I need for the next project was coming this AM. Been waiting 2 weeks for it, so I hauled my butt over to the shop, took delivery and came straight back home. Nappage occurred, but I’m still tired. But I did eat some. And picked up some soup for later.

Was a weird night attempting to sleep. I was in an almost asleep state state, aware that I wasn’t asleep, but having a dream anyway. An annoying dream. It was like I was seeing a youtube mix channel, but there were like 3 different 30 second videos that repeated in the same order. And I could hear voices talking, but couldn’t tell what they were saying. Repeat from midnight to 5.

jane the cane Enjoy the birds, reminds me I need to fill the feeders. And agree on the vinegar and sunlight for mildew.

I’m glad you got a prescription, but I’m sorry you had to go to the ER to get it. Hooray for lowered blood pressure!

VanGo I hope you feel better soonest.

Sari how is your mom doing?

I think you have a real shot at that. I am in awe of your swimming.

He’s a very cute little boy. I’m definitely starting to think about a new lap buddy. I miss Pixel all the time. I think a new little buddy would be a good thing.

After my dad’s fall, I found out that the doc did give him a small amount of codeine so that he could sleep comfortably. My dad refused to take them. He was unable to sleep in a bed for weeks. This post is a good reminder that I need to talk to my mom about how they plan to care for him. The day is not far when he won’t be able to stand on his own, let alone care for himself. He’s a stubborn idiot.

I am so, so, so proud of Beamer. He reported the incident yesterday, and Og knows many people just ignore it. He about to turn 17 (on Monday). He’s really becoming a grown up and a very good one.

Beamette gets kicked loose this afternoon after one more infusion. She is very ready to go. I’m looking forward to getting home and seeing my family and my dogs. Cats too. They don’t rush me at the door though.

There are many different kinds of laying tools and I had one that I bought years ago that worked great for me. GG was fascinated with it from day one so I had to make it a point to keep it out of his reach. One day a couple of weeks ago, I failed to do put my laying tool away and it disappeared. Damnit, I had nobody to blame but myself. I used a different laying tool while hoping that GG would start knocking my favorite one around so I could recover it.

That didn’t happen, so after a lot of effort and grumbling, I found a replacement online and ordered TWO because I was pretty sure I was going to want a back up. They arrived yesterday. I just caught GG knocking my original laying tool around in the kitchen, the little jerkface.

I just knew that was going to happen!

You should be proud, you’ve done a wonderful job raising him!

Swimmin’ has been accomplished, 1,600 yards of backstrokin’ in an hour, along with whirlpool and sauna time. Am shedding skin on my head and arms from all the sun I took last Saturday refereeing soccer, so of course I’m going back out there tomorrow.

Sunny,

It’s not all that much, I only do the backstroke, some of the folks there can swim rings around me, and going in a straight line is a challenge, but it does keep me busy and a little bit in condition.

And cheers for Beamer. Concur it’s a good idea to have husband along, of course he’ll hear something different than you do…

Unknown, it’s a fundamental law of the universe (IMHO) that nothing shows up until you have ordered it’s replacement.

VanGo, we’ll forgive you (this time) for not completely resting, just take care.

FCM, sounds like the male version of all those purty wimmen who want to be my Facebook friend.

OK, have consumed some calories and need to send my notes to the lawyer so I can get this Last Will thing done. All y’all take care.

It’s his now. :smirk_cat:

Question for Jane the Cane and anyone else actually. I travelled this week with my cane. I only need it some of the time, and the rest of the time it did a fine job of being in the way and whacking me, people, cars, walls, etc. Any suggestions for a good folding cane? I’d like something that I could tuck out of the way into a handbag when not in use.

We’re going through the trauma of the waiting game this weekend. Four days of hoping people show an interest in the property. Right now, there are only about eight tours scheduled, which doesn’t seem like very many. The suspense is not fun.

In this area, people seem to go to the open house, and then offers come in after that. It’s a weird shift, but the whole real estate market is strange at the moment.

Overlyboy had the BEST post-operative appointment, though he’s still not cleared to run or skate until mid-June.

Oh, and we just had a mini-earthquake. At first I thought someone had run into the side of the house.

jane the cane, they do make doggy seatbelts. At some point, I’ll likely replace the current setup with one. As for your laying tool, now you’ll have three. :stuck_out_tongue: (disclaimer: on my own, I’ve lost tools and ordered new ones, only to have the old one turn up).

Yay on overlyboy’s post-op appointment wordy!

Got all of the chores done, menus planned, groceries bought and a trip to the dog park made. Once he got played out there, we let the sailorman fix supper. Nelson got a birthday chicken tender (with the breading removed) to himself. Now, to kick back.

Howdy Y’all! Much sloth and general uselessness prevailed today. I liked that a whole lot. We napped. We day drank. We made and et sup. That was pretty much the day.

Sunny yay for Beamer! He did an excellent thing. Yay for Beamette gettin’ sprung today.

Talky Yay Overlyboy’s good post-op appointment. Hope you didn’t get shook up too much.

Cookie all it takes is that right person(s) interest to make a sale. Someone(s) will decide the house is just the perfect place and will jump right on it.

Jane The Cane is it GG’s fault you have such fun and irresistible toys?
