I am hoping they brought this up because they already can show contradictions in prior testimony by Ornato and others. You can’t go wrong putting a Trumpist under oath, they couldn’t tell the truth to save their own lives. Otherwise, this is a distraction since Hutchinson didn’t witness anything.

I think Hutchinson bringing it up is fine. The distraction is the breathless reporting around “an anonymous source is disputing it, lets concentrate on that for the next week instead of the rest of it.”

The only one I know from them is the substitute teacher sketch (which I have watched at least a hundred times on YouTube). This happened all the time at work, that was a particular guy I worked with for a very long time. He went from being the new kid who knew nothing to being my second in command. He was often tasked with explaining what I actually meant no matter what I had said. I may have even been guilty of it myself, but in all honesty I cannot recall a single instance when I was guilty (I am sure I sometimes was). Funny how the memory works.

Also, I can’t recall the specific quote, but she used that phrase once following a quote containing the word “effing”. If she hadn’t qualified it, Trumpists would’ve claimed that she lied. If she had used the actual expletive, they would’ve attacked her “vulgar” speech.

FWIW, during Hutchinson’s testimony I flipped over to Fox during a break, and that* was exactly the reaction of one of the commentators.

Love this!! It is clear that I have only seen the best two bits these guys have ever done! This is the dynamic exactly! And it is not hard for me to imagine Mr. Ornato saying (something to the effect of): (looks over shoulder and all around) "Listen Mr. Preseeedent, I don’t care who you are! I say we aren’t going to the capitol because that is MY decis . . . " (coming to attention) “Yes sir Mr. Trump, do you need me for anything!”
He was really valuable, he knew the standard procedures and he knew all my quirks. (He was also fairly fearless at great heights with shear drops but that was a whole other thing.) The few times I went on vacation, that guy would be in charge of running the operation even though he was relatively under skilled, and a different guy was in charge of all technical matters.
