Yeah, that was even more bizarre than the “tell me you want me to run for president” opening. Which was pretty bizarre.
NeNe deserved to go home for “Everyone was kissing Star’s ass.” “Like who?” “Marlee.” Marlee? WTF woman, if you’re going to lie, make it plausible.
Start deserved to go home for an ugly fucking ad campaign. And the manicures. I’d love it if they did actual audits on these projects and see who spent what on what to end up with this crap.
Did they, though? The clip we saw was Ivanka talking to the women about that. I wonder how identical their meetings were. I know they certainly wouldn’t show the same spiel twice, but rather intercut them. The guys certainly didn’t put up an argument against the claim, I guess.

I saw that - couldn’t believe they would be unable to tell the difference between discreetly (correct) and discretely (totally different meaning and not relevant in this context).

Eh. I can absolutely understand a discrete/discreet confusion - it’s not a very common word, and they (the spellings) are extremely easy to flipflip in your head.
And now that I think about it, I have a feeling that Trump had this challenge socked away in his pocket in the event that one team had a huge numbers lead over the other. For other challenges, he’s not allowed to declare which team is the winner. But for this one, he could technically send word down to his sycophants which team needs to lose.
And how about Starr’s pathetic attempt to plead that no one get fired? WTF was that? That woman is tone deaf.
Unless I’m not remembering correctly, both teams were told to be creative (which neither did), but I believe Ivanka told the men that all hotel ads looked alike, and that everyone did the waiter holding the champagne flute as an example of elegance, and that they were looking for something different. In their ad, he wasn’t holding champagne, but it was still pretty much exactly what she was talking about.
I get that—it would have been a reasonable mistake for either of the teams to make. They were under pressure, spell-check doesn’t catch that (if they had only figured out how to use it…), etc. But the judges circled the correct version as a mistake. And then brought up spelling in the board room. And then no one, from the judges to the editors on up to whoever approves the final cut of the episode, noticed (or mentioned) that the mistake was not a mistake. It makes me wonder if there actually were any spelling errors, or they were grabbing at straws for the sake of drama. [insert sad foghorn sound]
I watched this earlier this morning. I find it amazing that Star micromanaged this challenge and still escaped elimination. Janet Jackson did nothing wrong at all. Sure, she’s not all that useful either. But, Star has been directly responsible for several of the womens losses.
Anyone else notice the Top Chef Masters judge? James (with glasses). I didn’t realize he worked for Trump. At least I think it’s the same guy. Sure looked like him.
James Oseland, editor-in-chief of Saveur magazine. He doesn’t work for Trump, unless Trump owns the magazine? I have no idea what he had to do with judging that challenge.
I quit watching Celebrity Apprentice after he humiliated Chloe for her dui. He knew she had that dui before he ever brought her on the show - Who’s character is lacking? Anyhow - I put my principles down for a minute once I learned Meatloaf was on this season. (He’s probably the only person I would’ve compromised my principles for) So here I am watching this season (only until the ‘Meat’ is fired)
This week is soooooo frustrating from the standpoint that LaToya needed to be gone several weeks ago, but this week should have been all about Star.
I’m surprised nobody is pointing out the task was suppose to be about a conceptual vision!!! The men’s team at least shot for conceptual - the ladies team wasn’t even in the friggin’ park. (btw - the one picture on the men’s team should have made them lose it was so bad - but I’m glad it didn’t) oh, the one with the building and the late night, scarry movie font…AWFUL!!!
LaToya’s strongest moment this season was telling it like it was about Star. Yet, Star Jones continues to think she’s awesome! LaToya nailed it on the head - Nice job LaToya.
AND, NeNe!!! WTF!!! I never want to be around her when she has a knife - unless I have some heavy back armor!!! Don’t call me - I’ll call you!!!
And last, but not least, the Donald. He summed up his character when he said he would fire somebody for saying they wouldn’t vote for him. It would be “DUMB” to speak the truth and expect ‘The Donald’ to be able to handle that kind of adversity. Are you kidding me??? I’m not going to vote for him because I know he would surround himself with brown nosers that would be too afraid to speak their minds in fear he would ‘fire’ them. I have NO desire to live in a dictatorship. Thanks anyways Donald!!!
Doesn’t need to be guady - but it needs to be there. If I’m reading the ad and decide, gee, a stay at Trump Whatever is just what I need - I shouldn’t need to hop on the interet or call 1-800-555-1212 to find the reservation number.
But the task was to be “conceptual” - kind of like those ads you see for cologne in upscale magazines. They don’t tell you where to buy it or the brand’s website, it just says that this cologne or designer is the shit, and you’d better figure out how to get some of their stuff.
(Not that this approach is kind of dumb, but that’s the argument I would have made about why that info was missing.)
It’s not universal by any means, but many many IT types believe that including a URL for something distinctive like the Trump Hotel Collection is unnecessary as most web traffic is fueled by Google (and thus, knowing the name is as good as knowing the website).
But I was unsurprised that these walking corpses didn’t know that.
Is this a logic problem designed to short-circuit a 1950s-style robot? Because there’s no way you can look at the vast majority of advertising in this country and think “a professional did that.”
Nene dropped the ball here. She should have taken the chance and attempted to get Star fired. If she had turned on Star in that final board room meeting, I think Trump would have had no choice but to fire her. Then one of the game’s strongest players would be out of Nene’s way.
I also thought it was downright silly for Trump to say he’s firing LaToya so that the women can move forward after continuously letting Gary Busey slide through despite the men’s complaints.
Man, LaToya getting fired wass complete horseshit, IMO. Starr should have gone, full stop. That ad campaign was atrocious looking, horrible and LaToya wass absolutely right when she said it wass Starr’s way or the highway. Although I must admit I get frustrated when they only complain to the testimonial camera and not tothe PM. LaToya should have said to Starr, “I think this is the wrong concept because of A, B and C. However, of course if you feel strongly about it I will help achieve your vision.”
I also completely disagree that LaToya is useless. I think she has actually shown herslef very useful and adaptable. I think she is constantly fighting a stereotype that she is only famous because of her brother, which is probably true, but doesn’t immediately translate into she is useless. IMO opinion Hope hass been the most useless, which is wierd becuase I don’t thhink it is because she is not capable, but I think she has just allowed herslef to be barely useful.
She’s extremely useful when it comes to representing an established role/concept. She’s absolutely terrible at creativity, time management, and delegation. We’re getting the point where followers aren’t needed, and everyone will need to take ownership of their niche (like the men did this week). Going forward, LaToya would have been a liability, moreso than Star. IMO.
It’s funny you say she is horrible at creativity when it was her baseball hat that actually won the side competition. While I agree that she is lacking in several areas, and she won’t win I just think the perception of her is way too harsh. And for this task it was all Starr all the way.
That’s fair - but I was thinking more in terms of “business creativity”. Coming up with concepts, brainstorming, creating language, etc. Her work on the hat was very useful and generated money, but it’s not a very transferable skill in this setting.
