Celebrity Apprentice 2011

That never works for me. Whenever I try it, it freezes the crap out of my computer. At first I thought it was my crappy laptop and internet, but I tried at work with a much better computer and connection, and it does the same thing. If it works for you, notfrommensa, we’re done, but if the same thing happens to you, I went here.

OK, caught the final part of the episode. As Trump fires Hope, he tells her that she is going on to bigger and better things.

As Celebrity Apprentice ever launched a celebrity’s career to bigger and better things. Just about every celebrity has been a B-list or lower.

Only one I can think of might possibly Piers Morgan. But didn’t he actually win C.A.?

I turned it on at 8 and had no idea wtf was going on. Finally realized the crazy thing started an hour earlier tonight. Maybe it wasn’t a total loss. Did Ne Ne spend the whole hour screaming and cursing like a crazy ass woman? If so, then I won’t waste my time watching it online. When did she do everyone a huge favor and L…?

Well Star let her team down again. The word & powerpoint woman has screwed up challenges all season. This time she didn’t even get the script ready. Let’s see it Trump lets her slide again.

No Doubt John Rich and Lil John’s commercial was better. They really nailed the point that you can by OnStar for any car and install it.

Those OnStar Executives are bunch of tight asses. Never ever make fun of a cop. Don’t even think about sitting in a car without a seat belt. Geez… What jerks. They wouldn’t know a joke if it bit them on the butt.

NeNe just disappeared. Left, didn’t answer her phone, etc. Trump finally got hold of her and she said something that didn’t make much sense. In the boardroom, Trump said “You’re a loser, you’re a quitter, you’re fired, you quitter.”

Ding dong! The bitch is dead.

Oh yay!

'Cuz calling someone on sexist language is such a good way to defend yourself in a Trump boardroom.

Great night. The two most negative and scheming people are gone.

I’ll be surprised if Meat makes the final two. Trump will see his raw emotions as weakness in business. Meat means well. But, those emotions (anger, crying) are too out of control.

Something just tells me that Marlee will slip into the final two. She’s been very smart. Stays in the background and avoids fights. It’s just a hunch. Really it could be Rich or Lil John just as easily.

I am really surprised with 3 hours that they didn’t start the show with the last ~15 minutes from last week show that was preempted (on the east Coast).

Got Rid of NeNe, LaToya, and Starr. Good Riddance.

Did NeNe know that she’d been moved to the men’s team before she disappeared?

I have an irrational dislike for that woman. On CA and on RHOA and on the talk shows, no one has stood up to her. As long as she’s considered “good TV”, no one will, I suppose.

She was told to join Backbone, but never worked with the team. She was a no-show in the meetings. Later Trump told everyone that she quit the show. I really suspect that NeNe cut out because the project involved fund raising and she didn’t have any good connections to hit up for money. It can’t be because of Star since she’s on the other team now. Anyhow, good riddance to her and later to the other schemer Star.

It’s clear that Trump favors Marlee Matlin. As project manager this last time she was ultimately the one responsible for any screw-ups, and there were plenty to go around. Trump did not even consider firing her, instead focusing on either Meatloaf or Star. I found it hard to watch Meatloaf’s emotional outbursts. If he was so worried about money for his charity, why doesn’t he just write a check out of his own pocket if he loses? I have to believe he has the money. He should’ve been fired just for his emotional instability.

Anyone recognize any of the comedy show audience members? I spotted Phoebe Cates (just as hot as she was in Fast Times at Ridgemont High, but less naked) and her husband, Kevin Kline.

That might explain it – the lack of connections. She has fans, but no fans with money. I’m not sure if Anderson Cooper still likes her or not.

I think a bigger reason was the move to the men’s team. They probably wouldn’t put up with her bullshit. I think she went on the show in reality-show mode – cause controversy and get attention, the hell with charity.

John Rich impresses again. Even in a challenge his team loses, he was the biggest rock star on the show. Being able to raise $50k+ for a charity that wasn’t even his was really impressive. And offering to match Meatloaf’s total should Meatloaf have lost - wow. Just…wow. John Rich is clearly a guy that understand philanthropy, values his friendships, and truly gives back. I don’t care to speculate on Meatloaf’s ability to match that amount - I have no doubts that this is charity close to his heart, and I’m sure that he donates an extremely meaningful amount outside of this show. His words and concerns are true - there’s something very wrong about having to gamble with people’s purpose-given donations. In addition to probably having an enormous donor pool to work from, I think there’s another advantage RIch has. Picking a nationally recognizable charity gives him access to an even larger donor base, which I think is a huge huge advantage. Even on a challenge that isn’t his as PM, I think he can access them and say that any win helps him advance, creating a chance he’ll be up to raise money again. My advice to any future Celebrity Apprentice contestants (because I know they’re reading this), is to pick a big organization.

I also love watching the Johns work together. They’re so different at first glance - but they’re both from stereotyped musical genres, extremely smart, and maybe the hardest working people on the show. Their sense of ownership of their responsibilities is the most striking.

LaToya showed again how worthless she is. She doesn’t like leaving messages? She won’t go for a hard-ask? “Oh, he couldn’t make it in to the show…” So fucking what - ask him to buy a $50,000 ticket so that someone from the charity can attend the event. To end that phone call with *nothing *from your “biggest donor” is pathetic. Good riddance.

First of all, NOBODY has been able to get that mouthy lawyer out of there until this week. GO MEAT!!! She has failed repeatedly since the beginning of the season with no consequences. Enough said.

Meat’s a great guy. I have been a fan since I was 12 years old. Hmmm… 34 years now. He’s a unique personality, but that in no way makes him LESS of a personality. You have his childhood and see if you can do any better. I think not. (I’m not making excuses for him, but most people wouldn’t have made it out of their hometown - he’s a rock & roll legend)

Trump definitely favors Marley. For that reason alone I feel she’ll be in the final two. Not fair, but so be it. As much as I love Meatloaf, the Johns are the strongest contenders. I hope it comes down to fitness, but in the end I think Lil Jon will get the shaft. (he doesn’t reach that Trump standard) But, he sure does have better hair than Trump. lol

I’ve only seen the first part so far… Nene is weaksauce, man. Probably nobody in reality TV history pissed away an opportunity to raise their profile as badly as she did. She was initially the funny snarky one, but then she went Mean Girl on LaToya and got played by Star… and ended up making Star look rational and sane. Then she quits? She sucks, and not in a good way. I think she could have taken a page from LaToya and requested an audience with Trump and then left with some dignity… but again, the fucking point of this show is to win money for your charity. If you get fired, that’s the breaks… but if you quit you didn’t even give your charity a chance. Quitters on CA are incredibly self-centered jerks, and I hope their reputations take a hit, just like Barefoot Contessa got burned for turning down the kid from Make-A-Wish. These jerks didn’t even try. And in Nene’s case, she represented a domestic abuse charity by using her size and intimidation to control another contestant… I know they rue the day she signed on with them.

Munch, that’s a great point about choosing the right charity. St. Jude’s is a good one, and I’d say the next one who picks the Komen Race for the Cure Foundation is going to have a huge advantage. I also agree that Rich is one of the more impressive CA players to date. I’d also say that a lot of hip-hop artists would be good at this game, because it’s a hustle to make it in that field, whereas being a pop star or diva means you have handlers.

So true. Meatloaf was the only one who stood up to Star and wouldn’t give her the satisfaction of just walking away when confronted. Bravo to Meat!

I must admit that I wrote off CA after the Joan Rivers fiasco (and I’m not looking forward to seeing her Joker face next week), but this year’s cast had some really good contestants, and the Final Four are the right ones. I’m predicting that it’s John Rich vs. Marlee Matlin in the finals. Meat will be dropped because of concern about his emotional durability in the final task. And then it’s really between John Rich or Lil Jon because Marlee is a shoo-in (Trump likes her and the finals are invariably a guy vs. a gal for some reason). Of the two I think that Rich will get it because he’s won more projects as project manager than Lil Jon.

Checking some guest lists on talk shows this week. Nene (Wed) and Lil Jon (Fri) are on Ellen DeGeneres this week.

Is Ellen pre-recorded a week prior, or are the tapings somewhat current. I can’t imagine NeNe getting a good reception if it was recorded this week.

Getting caught up via Tivo so my apologies that this is a week too late.

If there is one moment that will be pointed to as when Celebrity Apprentice jumped the shark, it is when LaToya was fired over Starr for the Ad Campaign fiasco. LaToya is a follower and not a leader, but she is a damn good follower when assigned a task and makes the team stronger. Hope was worthless but Starr brings the team down. I was not surprised when LaToya came back because right after she was fired and Starr wasn’t, I could see Trump knew he made a mistake.

But why is it a 'jump the shark" moment? When have you ever seen a PM stay after failing as epically as Starr did, especially when everyone including Trump knows she micromanages everything. It proved the point that it is about entertainment and not the task.

That actually happens quite a bit. The only thing that Trump is consistent about is being inconsistent.

And I forgot to add yesterday: Jim Cramer?!? Is being publicly seen being buddy-buddy with Jim Cramer the most hilarious thing a potential presidential candidate could do?
