Celebrity Apprentice 2011

Can I ask why the spoiler? You’re not spoiling anything with that info.

I have a friend that we text and watch together. My comment was “holy shit is LaToya making sense?” when she was showing the RV to the camper company guy as a customer. I couldn’t believe she was there, just stringing sentences together like a champ and coherent even!

Jose is a major league douche. I feel bad for him, because I think he’s stupid. I love Lil’ John and John Rich together, and I was glad to see Rich stand up for his fan base. Maybe he’s just protecting his sales, but it was nice to see him bow up a little to Dick.

I originally thought Dick was saying some things that, while douche-y, were pretty spot on when it comes to the business world; the longer the show goes on, however, I get the feeling he’s a toadie - “Yes, Mr. Trump. Right away, Mr. Trump. Shine your ballsack, Mr. Trump?”

I like Star. Can’t help it - I never liked her before, but I like her on this show. Dionne needs to do a psychic fundraiser for her group, because she can’t really contribute any other way. I love Marlee and I think it is so wonderful for her to recognize Gary’s problem (that not even he had realized the extent of) and help him. I hate her on this show, though. Hope is bitchy mccuntface. She seems like a shit-stirrer.

I’d like to see Star and Dick go head to head.

From now on, I shall call him Zipper.

Yeah, probably not necessary. By saying “she”, I was giving away that the women’s team lost the challenge.

Very good point and I totally agree. I thought that she mde a mistake by bringing Star back because, like it or not, Star worked her butt off for the team. I really Lisa had a little more fight in her because it was obvious that Trump did not want to fire her. Dionne does not seem to do a lot and she should be gone by now. Oh well, every week we get another chance to see her go.

I think it is more of an advantage, on this kind of show, to have an interpreter. When she is being shouted out by a group of people, who aren’t paying attention to whether she is facing them or not, can help to have someone there for you telling you what is important. He is also a second pair of eyes who can tell her when people say things purposely away from her or body language that he picks up on. Kind of genius on her part really.

I’m going to post a spoiler, based on nothing more than a contestant’s appearance on a different network’s television show. The contestant wasn’t acting, but being themselves (reality, interview, etc.). (I’m trying to be as vague as possible.) If you like spoilers, feel free to read. But I think this person accidentally revealed themselves as a finalist.

So Marlee Matlin was on the Donald Trump roast, and finished by saying, “it’s not often you get a boss that can laugh at himself” (5:10 here). Major flub, or did she use “boss” in the sense that Trump is everyone’s boss on the show, so technically she’s not spoiling anything?

The Celebrity contestants on The Apprentice are just playing for charities, not for a job, so the “boss” thing wouldn’t mean she won.

Forget “It ain’t over till the fat lady sings” – it ain’t over till Trump says “I had no choice” and one of his sycophants agrees.

Does anyone else miss George and Carolyn? I like Ivanka just fine, but Carolyn was great.

Wow - what an insufferable bitch Dionne is. I mean - we all saw that, and knew it. But to call NeNe a coward, and claim the only possible reason people didn’t want her on the team was because they’re intimidated - what a bitch.

I found the way NeNe kissed her ass to be odd. I know all middle aged black ladies like Dionne Warwick and all, but you’d think once you meet her and discover she’s a complete bitch, you’d no longer feel the need to suck up.

Glad to see Dionne gone. I’d call her a Diva rather than a b. It’s probably been 30 years since she had to ask permission to do anything.

Wow, the guys are on a roll. I thought they had over reached with a humorous gay video. Corporate types can be pretty rigid and conservative. But, they were smart to realize this is a chance to reach a younger, hipper audience.

My take on Nene’s behavior here comes from watching her for three seasons of Real Housewives of Atlanta. Nene’s got nuthin’. She and her husband are divorcing (they’re broke) and her oldest son (a community college dropout and a real dim bulb) got a girl pregnant. She went from fan favorite in season one to most hated in season three. She has no skills and no talent – just a massive ego masking insecurity. Her only hope of staying off the street is whatever she can get from her 15 minutes. She wants to do well on Apprentice because nothing else she’s tried has worked, but she just doesn’t know how to put her ego aside. She’s never had a real job (she was a stripper) so she knows nothing about cooperation, organization, any of that.

She needs a handler, because she doesn’t know how to parlay what little name recognition she has into something steady. She’s starstruck on Apprentice but being starstruck doesn’t fit with the persona she’s been trying to develop – a strong woman who tells it like it is. So in her talking heads on Apprentice, she’ll badmouth Star and Dionne and Latoya, but unless one of them gets her really pissed off (she has a wicked temper) or she thinks she has nothing to lose, she won’t say anything to them directly.

Her tears in the boardroom came after the men did such a good job describing how they worked. Her team had none of that, and she thought she was about to be fired.

The bullshit about her charity – Trump better make sure any money she gets goes to a real charity – not Nene’s “Broken Hearts” or whatever she calls it – because Nene is shady.

Star gave her good advice about how to present the commercial. She didn’t listen. It’s typical for her. (I think she thought she’d be able to hold her own with Star, and that Star as an enemy would be better publicity than Star as a mentor or friend. I don’t like Star either, but she presents herself well and she seems to know what she’s doing.)

I think Nene’s a reality show victim. If not for Atlanta, she might have been forced to go back to school or get some job training, or try to help her husband get his career back on track. Instead, she’s wasting her time (and ours) trying to be famous.

I just watched LAST week, Nikki Taylor.

I’m sorry, but Donald Trump is such a giant ass. I can’t figure out exactly what the ethos is supposed to be here: who can do the most blaming??? Everyone loved her, her team loved her, everyone was thoroughly impressed with her willingness to take responsibility…and Trump fires her.

He really makes me sick, and it makes me sick to watch him and his kids try to get everyone to blame other people every week.

As for who he should have fired instead, my answer is probably Dionne for her OVERALL performance, but in any case, instead of just making his firing decision based on who was responsible for “losing” one task, he should have at least solicited input from the team about his decision.

Made me giggle.

I love Gary Busey, I’ve always loved him. And I call any show he’s on “Parsing Gary Busey”. Have you seen his Youtube videos? Whatever the hell is going on, he’s having a good time and feeling good.

Preview makes it look like Meat Loaf totally loses it with him next week – can’t wait to see what that’s about.

I love watching the craziness that is Gary Busey as well, but I really admire Meat Loaf for making it as long as he has without killing him. Hell, I wanted to kill him when Meat Loaf and Lil’ John were trying to talk.

Interesting, AuntiePam. I’ve never seen Real Housewives of anything, so I didn’t know who Nene was until Celeb Apprentice. It was clear from this season, though, that she was supposed to be some kind of no-nonsense, tell-it-like-it-is tough chick, then to see her groveling to Dionne, who was completely wrong, just seemed incongruous. It’s not hard to believe, though, that she’s another reality TV personality with no talent or interpersonal skills.

I’m not surprised though. The corporate world is all about passing the buck and letting others take the fall for your mistakes. Anyone who consistently takes responsibility for their screw-ups, though well-intentioned, probably wouldn’t get far in an organization like Trump’s.

BTW, has anyone checked to see exactly what Dionne said when she left? Did she ask or did she announce?
