Apparently Meat Loaf was just totally wrong, and Gary didn’t have any of his stuff. They just showed him apologizing to Gary.
Well, Jose pretty much burnt all his bridges with the MLB and pissed on the ashes when he wrote Juiced, so I’m not surprised he doesn’t have many high rollers he can hit up.
And I don’t know why anyone would think Richard Hatch has a bunch of rich friends, or at least rich enough to be able to drop a five or six figure donation on the spot. He’s never been in show business. He doesn’t run in high powered corporate circles. He’s just some guy who won a reality show (and then went to prison when he failed to pay the taxes on his winnings).
Yeah, John Rich was full of shit with stuff. The measure of a performance should not be how many rich friends somebody has.

I didn’t say anyone had to have rich friends, or raise tons of money. I said they had to raise “a meaningful amount of money” which I specifically said was entirely relative to the person raising that money. I can raise a couple thousand dollars amongst my friends, and that’s a meaningful amount - because I know that the amounts donated are meaningful to them.

Shit. I just figured out that no one is getting fired tonight. Probably because Canseco left. Trump is just going to give them all blow jobs for getting rich friends to write checks for charity and let them all go. I hate when no one gets fired. It feels like a rip off.

I personally detest the “who has the richest friends” approach to the game, but I suppose if they really want to get rid of Richard, this is their best opportunity to throw him under the bus.
When they announce the numbers, they always announce the losing team first. You’d think they’d mix it up a little bit. It takes the suspense out of it.

It’s stupid to fire Hatch over not raising money. He didn’t put the effort in, but if you’re going to focus so much of the conversation on “who’s least valuable going forward” and every. single. person. says it’s Busey, you need to fire Busey. That was all about the ratings.

I was wrong about the firing, but it was a stupid reason for a firing. If not having rich friends is a criterion for getting fired, then why was he cast at all? I hate the cell phone challenges.
