I don’t intend to drive him crazy a la The Simpsons’ Comic Book Guy, or shove manuscripts at him.
It’s simply that I may have some of his stories and it’s great to get the stuff autographed (not for resale mind you) or ask non-trivial questions about it.

For the folks staying in Hanover-are you all set with your directions? No worries-I know the town very well. If we’re not all partied out, there is a kicking club in town with >20 beers on tap, including two hand pumps. Saturday night features great live music, and they have an outdoor beer garden! You can check them out online, clicking ‘Tavern’ on any of the drop-down menus.

fizzy and I will actually be staying there on Friday night as well as Saturday night, dwc. For that matter, anyone who wants is free to email and maybe we can have a very light/small get-together at the hotel. I don’t know yet when we’ll get there; I’d expect some time between 3 PM (when check-in is) and midnight;) Any Friday-night festivities with us, however (since you noted the bar, dwc;)), will probably want to be booze-free; I like to stay as sober as I can, and fizzy is required to do so by law.
Unfortunately, my work ethic is way too strong for that sort of thing. It borders on the ridiculous, actually. Plus, my interest in the Dopefest has waned since punha recited the name of doom:

Well, 'Punha just emailed me that he won’t be giving baby brother Dwalin a ride, due to he and fizzy don’t want blood relatives camping out in their hotel room! This is a disappointment to my 13-year-old daughter, who mostly meets boys who are jerks or not smart enough for her. So I told her I would post and see if anyone else is coming from that area that might be willing to give the kid a lift. Any takers?

Oh dear. Kid’s probably almost as big as I am. Only thing “baby” about him (and I say this with six months’ absence since I last saw him) is his face.
IIRC, Tris is heading from my general area, as are gobear and goboyfriend, so perhaps the situation is not quite so dire as I had thought it.

I tried to make a post last night but I lost it and gave up because I was tired. Anyway…I was gonna do cookies but since we’re leaving on Thursday to come up to NoVa my cookies might not be so cookielicious by Saturday so that’s out. We’re thinking of pickin’ up maybe a couple of watermelons for a nice watermelony treat. I’m not much of a watermelon carver though. Someone will have to take on that job.
One week! Whee!

I am going from here, to North Carolina, and then to Gettysburg, then back to NC, and then back home. I don’t think any other stops are feasible. At least I don’t really want to fease them.
