CFB Week 14 -- Must-see games

Using this source and stripping out the extraneous data, I have built this summary below. Not wishing to be hyper-selective and building a poll of some subset, I thought it might be fun to identify the must-see games of this important week.

Which ones are you planning to watch on TV?

Do you plan to be there for any of them?

=========================================================

Thanksgiving will be set aside for Pro football so those games are out. Friday I’ll be watching Iowa/Nebraska and the Civil War. Saturday the only game I’m interested in is the Iron Bowl. Although I kinda want to see if Duke can actually get to the ACC championship game so I may watch that one as well if it’s televised.

The Egg Bowl is the last gasp for my Bullydogs this year. If they can pull off a win, they can salvage what has been a disappointing season, and play a bit of spoiler for Ole Miss.

The Main Event of the weekend is, of course, the Iron Bowl.

The Druidess, for some reason likely connected to her yankee-ness, seems to think there is some significance to Ohio State-Michigan, even though neither team plays in the SEC.

It’s going to take some DVRing and maybe even some back-and-forth between channels, but I’m planning on these:

2013 NCAA Division I-A Football Schedule - Week 14

Thursday, November 28

7:30 PM Ole Miss at Mississippi State

Friday, November 29

2:30 PM Arkansas at (15) LSU

Saturday, November 30

12:00 PM (3) Ohio State at Michigan
12:21 PM Wake Forest at Vanderbilt

 3:30 PM (1) Alabama at (4) Auburn
3:30 PM (9) Baylor at TCU

7:00 PM (6) Clemson at (10) South Carolina
 7:00 PM Tennessee at Kentucky
 7:45 PM (19) Texas A&M at (5) Missouri

I love all those interstate rivals. It’s late in the season so most of the excuses have vanished.

Ohio State/Michigan is almost an interstate rivalry since they both recruit in each others territory. It will be interesting to see if UM can bring any pride to the game to make something of a season which has been far more disastrous than their record indicates.

Alabama/Auburn is almost always good.

I picked Missouri to lose so that holds a lot of interest.

I’m wondering if FL/FSU could be a trap game for FSU.

I have had that very thoight. I may try to catch some plays in the first quarter to see how Florida is doing, and if they show signs of life, I may jump from the OSU-UM game.

If Muschamp has any love from his team, they may just rally for him, to keep him at the school.

With the exception of it being intra-state, FSU/UF has all the elements of UM/OSU. Big rivalry, many of these guys went to high school together (or played each other), massively overlapped recruiting bases. I doubt FSU isn’t going to take this seriously.

I’ll watch tOSU V. UM one of my favorite games to watch all year.

I have a ticket to the Mizzou/A&M game but need to find a way to get out of my wife’s family Thanksgiving. If I go I will be tailgating but trying to watch as much of the Iron Bowl as possible.
