Considering how well my other topic did, I’m ditching the metal recommendations. Now I will try to recommend albums that pretty much anyone with an appreciation of music can enjoy, so I will steer clear of anything bizarre or really inaccessible, but I will also be sure to cover a wide range of genres. I just think it’s a fun idea, that’s all. If I get any feedback, I’ll recommend an album about once a week.
This week’s album is…
Burial - Untrue
Genre: Dubstep
Year: 2007
Also for fans of: soul, r&b, ambient
This album is like the soundtrack to a rainy, bleak south London night, constructed almost entirely out of chopped up vocal samples, moody ambient sounds and off-kilter drum beats. A very hypnotizing and interesting listen, and one of my personal favorites.
