Change of seasons in the MMP

Finally Firday! Irking as usual.

Happy Weekend all.

I could make it if it was tomorrer, but might just be able to attend next week (since that’s when it is). Those plans are about as solid as Jell-O at this moment. Too many things to do concurrently so not sure what I am doing yet, but one of the options is Selinsgrove in the afternoon. There are multiple things that moaning so it might be Sunday instead of Sat; are you staying the weekend?

It was pea-soup fog this moaning; wanted to get a pic down the tracks but the train was coming before I had my chance; however, it was boofital, deep blue skies when I got off the choo. I’m amazed that it cleared out that fast. Since I did bring my camera in today I got some cool sky pics.

Groceries have been procured and stowed. Roxy is napping. Not sure what I’m going to do now, so I shall surf a bit.

There was no yarn at the AARP meeting so I don’t know what I’ll do while watching TV. I may post a local ad asking for any unwanted freebie yarn so I can continue with my projects. Or I could find another pasttime. Decisions, decisions.

I think Taz is starting to feel his years. He’s around 13 or 14 - the rescue lady just guessed when we got him. According to a couple of websites, Bengals tend to live 12-16 years, so he’s definitely close to the end. :frowning: The main issue seems to be difficulty jumping up to places where he used to reach easily. I’m not sure when he’s due for his next checkup, but I’ll address it with the vet. I just hope he goes quietly in his sleep. I’ve had to take 2 cats to be put down, and it sucketh mightily.

FCM, best wishes for Taz.

swampy, glad the housewerk went well. I’m looking at recarpeting/repainting my 'great room and two spare bedrooms this spring and buying new furniture.

I took care of the helicopters and acorns and leaves by having my trees removed 20 years ago. smartest thing I’ve ever done, IMHO.

ruble, enjoy Knoebels.

Sari, sounds like you have at least one good neighbor.

Bumba, good luck with the house. I think the appraiser is a jerk, IMHO, but whattya going to do? Hope it doesn’t set you back too much.

Spidey, I get that mail too. I read it and say “Jesus Christ, another bill!”

Need to do some banking here in a bit, then soccer in the afternoon. Hot (92F) and probably no rain again. I actually wouldn’t mind seeing it storm, been several weeks now.

Back from the playground and lunch with Mama. Roxy spent about an hour running around and climbing and swinging and stuff, then we walked over to where Daughter teaches (right next door) and she begged bits of lunch. Right now, she’s having some leftover pasta, and her daddy will put her down for an afternoon nap. She should sleep very soundly. We shall see.

When Beloved Brother was on his first tour in Vietnam he complained about a lack of helicopters in his area so me and the clan shipped him about 5 pounds of the damn things. His platoon released them somewhere over the jungle. Someone some Papa-san is looking at this maple tree and being very confused.

I think Victor Charlie snuck snake-heads into this country in retaliation

Yeah; and remind me next week and I send you our cell number; its one of the rare times we turn the darn thing on. Saturday its so crowded mostly we just hang around the swap meet at Phoenix Junction and then Sunday we go nuts riding.

Well, we found a contractor over there who was well-recommended to paint the house for ~$3k.:D. And he can do the other work too.
Then Wifey got pissed off at all the delays and she called some private investor friends and they’re lending us the money, taking the original mortgage lender out altogether. It’ll cost us a little more, like $1k+, and we’ll have to re-fi after a bit to pay them off early, but we’re set. We hope to close next week.

We’re gonna have the guy paint and fix the windows and deck anyway. We’ll be glad to have it done this year.

Then all we really have to worry about right away is puppy-proofing the fences, building some gates, and putting in a big person toilet. I need to replace fascia and gutters and downspouts on the west side of the building earliest too, but they only get about 11" of rain a year, so not a major emergency.

You (and the clan) are awesome. :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s looking like I have a problem with my cerebrospinal fluid that is contributing to my haid issues. One more test to look at it (stay flat in bed for 48 hours, with only short breaks to the necessary) and then we’ll see. It would be good to get a diagnosis, but I’m not sure what comes after that for me. Essentially something is constantly wearing a hole in dura that holds in the CSF, so I never have enough. The longer my head is over my hips, the more the fluid drains down and the worse I feel. Treatment will be trying to find out what’s making the hole and figuring out how to fix it. It likely means surgery.

DH mentioned Akiko needing another puppy today. fingers crossed

Happy Friday everyone!

Howdy Y’all! Had a very bzzzy day but now am in chill mode. Got church chores done, laid in provisions, and spent some time workin’ to get da cave back together. Sup got changed from boxed lasagna to fried chikin strips, peas 'n butterbeans, smashed N.O.T., and cornbread. See, I decided around two I needed a couple things from :eek:Wally*World:eek: so I went. Whilst there I smelled fried chikin and got a vision of sup to be. So, I bought some fried chikin strips, came back to da cave, and made the peas 'n butterbeans, smashed N.O.T. and cornbread. OYKW was both surprised and very happy to see cornbread. He lurves his cornbread!

Sunny here’s hopin’ that helps with your health problems. Also, appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed re the new puppeh.

Bumba looks like y’all found a solution, so YAY!

MetalMouse I settled the problem of rakin’ pine straw by gettin’ rid of pine trees. So did my neighbors on either side.

MOOOOOOM you have a big yahd so take up Mumblety-peg.. You’re Welcome!

One of our members had a customer who complained about an outstanding balance on their credit report. The member does not send zero-balances in their a/r data, so Experian has the balance from the last time the customer was reported.

So I wrote a program to ‘capture’ zero-balances from previous files. i.e., if an account exists in a previous file but not the current file, the program writes the previous record to the current one and changes the balance and aging to zero. Then I ran the output from the ‘zero-balance capture’ program against each of the files we’ve received in 2019. So now this member’s customers who have paid their bills will show as having paid.

My boss said, ‘Good work’ and she appreciates it. I said, ‘Can I break out the vodka now?’ She said, ‘Of course!’ Well, it’s almost an hour later, and I finally poured a glass with some sparkling cranberry-flavoured water and ice. Mrs. L.A. is making parmesan gnocchi and sauce for dinner. I’ll have wine with that.

Happy Firday!

It was a pretty day today, N.O.S. and a not so hot 81 degrees outside.

Went to the dog park as usual. Took off irk this am since the electricity was going to be off while the power lines were being replaced, or whatever was being done to them.
Irked in the yard for a bit, the pups insist n being outside and I won’t leave them out there alone until Echo gets bigger. I have stuff I need to get done inside but Ripple was the one refusing to come in.

Echo is so different from Ripple, so much bolder and more athletic. She almost made it to the top of the stairs today, was two steps from the top, got scared and went back down. It was months before Ripple could go up and down the stairs by himself. Of course, he didn’t have a big brother to show him the way.

I spent the afternoon organizing a mess of papers. Then we went to the pet store to see one of the women from the park. Got both of them out and about, but I really can’t handle both of them by myself right now. Ripple wants to go go GO, and Echo will lay down and refuse to move. I get tired of carrying her.

Good luck with the health stuff Sunny

Ruble you family is certainly one of a kind - too bad, more of y’all would make for a more interesting world.

Glad things worked out for you Bumba

MetalMouse - I have mixed feelings about the neighbor, he can be very nice and helpful, he can also be a very loud drunk.

Maybe I am not the only person who got a letter from the city, I noticed as I came up the alley tonight a lot of stuff had been cleaned up. I’m still pissed that I got one. I had my son go out and cut down the neighbor’s weeds, but it’s still messy on her side. Messy on the inside because I still need to drag all the stuff that I cut down out of there, messy on the outside because her ground cover is spreading across the parking pad. I don’t know what to do with all the branches and stuff The neighbor on the other side will take a bunch of it for his fire pit, but anything he doesn’t take will need to go to the dump and I don’t want to pay for it.

Errata: Torteloni, not gnocchi.

You guys are making me hongree!

Dinner tonight will be left-over chicken taco salad. (I made a lot yesterday.)

Then we’re going to watch #2GrandSon play water polo over at the B-I-G cement pond.

Later!

I’m making me drunk! :stuck_out_tongue: I had a glass of red wine with dinner, and finished the vodka drink. If Mrs. L.A. doesn’t want more wine, I’ll probably drink it.

I’m not a drinker, but I’ve been drinking recently because it seems to be beneficial to my diet.

Juggling chainsaws!
This has been a big anniversary week for pop anniversaries:
[ul]
[li]Moanday - The Boss turned 70[/li][li]Yestidy - A bunch of Brady’s turned 50[/li][li]Sunday - Friends turned 25[/li][li]Last week - Rapper’s Delight was released 40 years ago.[/li][/ul]

I’d hate to have to see you drink alone.

Mooooom, may Taz have happy remaining years and go peacefully when he’s ready.

Have fun ruble!

sari, when we had the little beagle houseguest, I found that walking two dogs at once was easier if the slow one went on a retractable and the livelier one was on a standard. For Nelson, I don’t use a retractable, but I keep one at Dad’s for when I walk his 14 year old chi, Gracie (Nelson’s abuelita) and Nelson at the same time. Sis does the same thing when she brings her puppers up.

Irked, came home, took Nelson to the dog park, went through the drive thru for ribs and am chilling now. Tomorrow, I need to get groceries and will be interviewing a dog walker in the afternoon. I hope she works out for the occasional weekend when I want to take a day trip.

It’s not really drinking alone if the cat is home.

Its strange but even on mothers side there is this thing where we take innocent remarks and turn them into group projects everyone gets a laugh out of. And on Dad’s side -------- we’re talking 8-10 branches out on the tree; descendants of the brother of some relative from back in 1750. We just all have that odd quirk in our brains. Anything from inviting us to breakfast from 350 miles away to telling us to go fly a kite ------ you can just never be quite sure what the end result will be.

Take Cousin Charlene; I’m not sure how she’s a cousin but she was always a cousin so -------- well anyway she had a thing for Volkswagen Beetles. And back in the day when service station people actually pumped your gas and checked your oil the guy at the local Chevron Island always asked how much gas she wanted and “want me to check the needle on your sewing machine for you”. He meant oil but ----------

So a couple of the guys on Aunt Sheb’s crew got this old Beetle, rigged it with a front engine and a sort of drive system, and a Singer Sphinx in the back. Charlene drove in, got the usual question, said sure ---------- and the result was priceless. And worth the $200 and maybe 40 man-hours from 6 or 8 people it took. As our crest should say – hoc tempore tamquam utilem.

Evening all. Soccer has been coached (actually I let one of our visiting coaches (from Brazil) do the training today) and he worked them a lot harder than I usually do, so they should be going to bed early tonight. So will I, our game is at 8am. Then I referee and after that coach two more games, so it’ll be a busy Sattiday.

Did my banking and went out to eat this afternoon–new burger place called Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar. Just opened so very crowded, took about 30 minutes to get a seat, but the food was palatable, but maybe not enough to drive 25 minutes to get there again. Still, was something different.

flyboy, not sure I understand what you did, but it apparently was good so celebrate tonight (and beg forgiveness tomorrow).

{{Sunny}}. I hope the tests reveal the problem and that it can be fixed.

Glad the house situation got resolved, Bumba.

ruble, you need to write a book about your family’s…adventures. I’d buy a copy.

OK, finish a few other things and off to bed.

Worked, stopped and walked Gordie. Went to hockey. Canes lost.:frowning:

MY KINGDOM FOR A RUN DEFENSE!!!

((((**Sunny[/v])))). Hope they find the problem.
