Change of seasons in the MMP

Well, took a nice long bath (“a shower is just a shower, but a good bath is a soak”) until I almost fell asleep in the tub, so got out and took a nap, then just finished feeding my face…and I’m still sore and my feet hurt and I’m worn down.

Sorry, just had to complain. Only thing I have the ambition for.

Blurf.

One more day of Penns Colony left. And when I get home tomorrow I can put on my Culpepper shirt and watch the Vikings (I hope) win over Da Bears. But the Bears are really good this year and ------------- but I’ll watch anyway.

I worked. My microwave does not.

: looks at standings :
Sorry dude, gotta pull for the Viqueens…to lose.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 72 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 94 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. The big plan of the day is to deheathenate (I get to sit my butt in a pew and just be this mornin’) followed by N.O.L. somewhere TBD. After that back to da cave and chillaxin’. Sounds like a good plan to me!

MetalMouse it is every grumpy old man’s right to complain.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Just because I’m nosy - **MetalMouse **- is your tub extra long or extra deep, or do you have to soak in shifts? We have a standard 5’ tub, which means either my legs soak, or my torso does, but not both. Not that it matters - I only used it once when I had bad poison ivy and I tried an oatmeal soak… it didn’t help much.

I want a hot tub, but we’d have to build something to house it. I think putting it in the basement would lead to bad things… Not that it matters - we can’t afford it anyway.

But what I could afford was thrift store duds for Roxy (and me!) All kids items were a buck each - Daughter went thru the racks and scored 10 assorting things, including jammie pants, which had been sadly lacking since this kid has grown so much! Her supply of pants all look like capris now - she’s definitely inherited her father’s height.

And I got myself a polo shirt and a couple pairs of jeans. One IS in my current size, but Petite - I wanted to see how much of a sizing difference there is - and one in a size smaller. I got into both of them, tho the smaller ones were, um, snug… They’ll be my motivators, since I’ve plateaued for the last several months. (OK, I haven’t been as diligent about my intake as I should be.)

I woke around 5, then fell back to sleep till a little after 6. In that interim, I had a disturbing dream about my grandmother and my mom’s younger sister - both are dead, but they weren’t in the dream. And we were back in my grandmother’s old house - the one they sold in the early 80s - it had new owners who were doing a rehab, but for some reason, we had a key to the place. Anyway, at some point in the dream, I was sitting on the floor, crying, and that’s when I woke up. Not a good way to start the day.

Still, I’ve tended to the critters, loaded and started the dishwasher, and cleaned the sink. Just finished breakfasting. Not sure what the day will hold - we’ll make it up as we go along.

Happy Sunday!

Morning all. Up early since this is my once-every-two-months Krispy Kreme run, where I go to the main store and get a half dozen (Ok, 8) glazed donuts right out of the cooker along with a couple of bottles of chocolate milk and just pig out at home. All has been consumed and is happily digesting.

And that is probably my major activity of the day, tackleball and nappage will take over in the afternoon.

All y’all have a good Sunday.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today. Gonna watch hockey, then go to Tar Zhay, since my microwave started pinnin’ for the fjords last night.:frowning:

Also,
HAPPY NATIONAL COFFEE DAY!!!

FCM , maybe Metalmouse is a Hobbit?

MetalMouse, I used to live withing walking distance of the downtown Krispy Kreme, if you didn’t mind walking past the occasional bout of small arms fire.

swampy, is that why you have a lawn, so you can tell people to get off it?

**doggio **- I’ve met MetalMouse- if he’s a hobbit, he’s a particularly tall one!

OK, no more goofing off. I need to shower and dress like an adult.

Ugh Just got out of bed, and the coffee isn’t done yet. Just a few more minutes…

Maybe he was just closer than you thought? :dubious:

Having a day of cooking and suchlike, as I’m trying to get more organised about having good food in that just needs heating up, so I don’t come home from irk tahred and eat junk. It’s been wet, wild and windy all morning, and though the rain has just stopped, I still don’t feel like going out, though I really should head to the allotment. The wind’s due to drop later, so maybe then.

I’m clean and dressed. I finally cleaned the critter fountain. Just before I showered, I scrubbed the shower - yesterday I cleaned the shower doors, so at least that part of our bathroom is clean. I need to do the floor - later today or tomorrow, I’m thinking.

Mostly, I just want to veg. Maybe I will…

He could have been three Hobbits in a trenchcoat. :p:D:dubious::wink:

I think I’d have remembered the trenchcoat, but my memory ain’t what it used to be.

Happy Sunday!

Home from the park and getting ready to head up for a shower and then on to Baltimore.

I missed my friend’s bd. Her daughter and grandkids were going to take her out to dinner, but she said what she really wants is for them to clean her house for her. She has a desk she has been wanting to get rid of, so I am taking the pups and going down to get it. That will be my contribution to helping her clean out her house.
I just hope the desk will fit in the back of the truck. The crew cab has a shorter bed. She says the desk can be taken apart, I just hope the top isn’t too long.
We’ll see. If it wasn’t for picking up the desk I ask her and my other friend to come up here instead.

Anyway, just found out she has plans got the afternoon so I’d better get moving.

doggio, at least the microwave isn’t an expensive thing to replace. When I replaced the last time, I lived in a walk up apartment and ordered one from da Jungle so’s the UPS guy would be the one to carry it up the stairs. :stuck_out_tongue:

Moooooom, I kind of miss tub soaks. The tub in this apartment is both narrower and shallower than the last one and I’ve taken exactly one tub bath since moving here three years ago.

I went out to an Irish pub to hear some friends’ band play last night and didn’t get home until ~1 of the a.m. I slept until almost nine!

Ethiopian chicken is in the crock, I’ll do the cabbage later. I picked up some injera bread while I was in the city last evening, so it will be a good supper. Other than that, laundry (currently in the wash) and the usual Sunday chores between sloth will be the order of the day.

**Red **- When we lived in King George, VA, our master bath had a tub with jets, but there was no heater, so all it did was cool down the water for you. Plus, being so deep, it was a pain to clean. I don’t think I used it half a dozen times in the 3 years we lived there.

Vacuuming is done. I’m about to assume the afghaning position.

I did my 2.13-mile walk today in just under 40 minutes. That’s 3.2 miles per hour! (Well, 3.194 mph.)

I was still passed by a neighbour and her dog.

It’s been a pretty lazy day. I even let Food Lion rotiss a chickie for us. I expect to crochet the evening away.

FCM, my tub is 72" x 42", so yes, I have room to stretch out and soak. And I am not a hobbit, albeit somedays (like today) I move as slowly as an Ent…

flyboy, congrats on the walk.

Sari, hope the desk fits.

Nappage completed and watching some tackleball, need to think about dinner (decide if to eat in or out–too far away to eat In-and-Out…). 93F outside, so maybe just stay indoors…

Supper is almost ready. It’s smelling marvelous!

The potential dog walker didn’t show up yesterday and will not get a second chance. When it comes to the safety and comfort of my dog, I don’t make exceptions. I’m a bit disappointed, as her mom is uber responsible and didn’t even call me (she’s who I went through to set up the interview). I may have to go to a pro or beg a friend for a favor next time I go on a day trip.
