Cheap Chawklit in the MMP

Happy Toosday!

It’s supposed to be N.O.S. and warm today. It was warm when I put the dog out at 5. He scared me by going on a walk about in the dark and I couldn’t see him. Normally in the mornings, he does his thing and comes right back in.

Good night’s sleep last night, again. I slept from 9:30 till 5. I know I got up once or twice but fell right back to sleep, so all is good.

I have to find my checkbooks. I hardly ever write checks anymore but I need them for the IRS.
One more thing to check off the never ending To Do List.
I need to get that ready to go before we go to pick up groceries.

Baker - I’m sorry about your mom and Nathan.

Swampy, sometimes you just do what you gotta do and somehow you get through it. I admire people who can handle such things, because I know it is hard.

Good mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 55 Amurrkin out and foggy with a predicted high of 85 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. We’re hopin’ somebody from Hospice comes by today. We thought somebody was comin’ yestiddy but no one did. I should also go check on unc at the nursin’ home. My life is just fraught with excitatement!

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, well purtification shall commence and onward into the day.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

so, so sorry. I can’t even imagine. Hugs to you.

ok all caught up. Blurf we must have had 5 or more inches of rain yesterday and still raining today. I have been awake since 3 ish. I guess I went to bed too early. We went and signed a pile of papers so after a 3 day “cooling off period” it will be done. We will not change our minds. Anyway I am at irk early since I could not sleep. Gonna be a long day.

Hugs to all that need them. and Rosie’s sig

Baker, I am so sorry about Nathan. It effin’ hurts to lose an anipal.

I did a double and accidently went to the old MMP last night. :smack:

We did snag some Reeses Bunnies and some odds and ends 50% already at the local Revcos/CVSs but the big dive will be in a couple weeks as part of our Knoebels trip. There is a maker with a specialty shop in the one mall in the mountains that has to-die-for chocolate and at 2-3 weeks after the holiday it hits 70% off. A couple years back we carried like 20-25 pounds of the stuff out. Their normal prices are reasonable – much better than Sarris and other places around us. And you discount it THAT deep and both of us tend to go off the deep end.

OK – caught up. More hugs Baker’s way.

On an unrelated note but getting back to the OP -------- when I was a kid HL Greens (the one department store) carried an amazing cheaper chocolate for Easter that I loved but today ------- I don’t know if a store could get away with stocking it. It was solid chocolate in the form of crucifixes, Jesus heads and other heavily religious images. Not simple praying hands or that – we’re talking full dead body in Mary’s arms like the Piata. It always struck me as a little creepy biting the head of Jesus right on the cross but ---------- it was darn good chocolate.

There’s a chocolatier in downtown Leonardtown (yeah, downtown - heh) that I have yet to check out. Partly out of fear of the prices, partly out of fear that I’ll melt my credit card buying chocolates. I will stop there one day. Probably.

Well, aren’t we fancy schmantzy today? :dubious:

I went to see Unc but he was asleep. The nurse told me he had been complainin’ of a headache and his sinuses are stopped up so they gave him some Benadryl. Since that’s a definite family trait I fully understand. I’ll try again tomorrow. Mom ate a little bit this mornin’ but is now asleep. I decided to take advantage of that and go wild. I started laundry.

Supposed to be rainy today…but so far blue skys and sun (we’ll see what the afternoon brings).

Playing with my A/C, I have it off now (house is at about 74F), but if it gets up to 77-78F, it goes on. We’ll see how good the insulation is in keeping the cool air in.

FCM, never look a surprise check in the face; always nice to get more money than expected.

Now on to the important stuff (like ignoring sweeping the house for the sixth straight day).

I decided laundry was not excitatin’ enough, so I cleaned the bathroom as well.

In other news, sis and I have decided on sushi for dindin. YUM!

You live a damned exciting life on the edge, Swampy.

We’re home, trying to decide what to do for supper. We’re going out - the “where” is the issue.

Hubby is off to the office in CA again. I will have to decide what to do for dinner. Tooth/face is doing better. A little sore, but not bad.

'Beamer was at the doctor to see what can be done about his mood swings and irritability (and you thought autism was all fun and games). We’re trying some new things. Fingers crossed.

Next week I’m back to CA for more haid treatments for me. I’d like life to smooth out a little more, but I count my blessings that we still have health care.

We went to the Old Town Pub in Leonardtown. Usually it’s really crowded, but we got there early enough today, plus it’s early in the week, and I’m sure that helps.

I got the lobster roll, and while it was OK, I could have done without the Old Bay. The sweet N.O.T. fries were yum. So, happy tummy and no dishes to wash. Yay! Time to assume the recline position.

Boy child just pitched a fit because his friend can’t come over and he left something in the car (two unrelated things). I really hope this new program works. :frowning: (Fit like cussing, and slamming, and kicking.)

Sushi was nummy and fillin’. Of course, there’s still room for ice cream later.

{{{Sunny}}} feel better soonest. Hope the new treatment works out for the Beamer.

flytrap when one retires one can then begin livin’ life on the edge.

swampy, did MamaBear get her hair done? My niece still makes a few home hairdo calls for a couple of her LOLs, even though she’s no longer in the biz, but still licensed. Your mama’s stylist might be willing.

I called a local dentist for an appointment for a check up and cleaning next Tuesday. I’ll get an estimate for the crown then too. My out of pocket for the last one was around $500, so there goes the fun money for awhile.

I had a rather interesting day to say the least. Details later or not. All my staff hates me now but I am good with that.
