Yesterday I had to take my youngest grandson to lacrosse practice. As we were approaching the single story retirement home on the way, an ambulance from the fire dept came roaring up the road from the other direction. We pulled over, but it turned in to the old folks home. Then their ladder truck came up the road, lights and sirens, and turned in. Did I mention that this particular old folks home is single story? What came immediately to mind, unbidden, was “Gramma’s up on the roof!” I didn’t try to explain the joke to grandson.
Hubby missed the shuttle (he forgot his wallet). So we chased it down to the next town up the road. Fortunately they sit a bit at each stop, and it might be that I am a bit faster than the shuttle.
Picked up grilled ham and cheese and some sundaes for dinner. Feel a bit overly full, but I shall survive.

I forgot the most important part: I bought the cheap chawklit! Some peeps for variety even. Bunnies, eggs, and even some ice cream. Just to be thorough.
I’m a bit worried about Saturday’s weather. I don’t want to wuss out on the March for Science, but I also don’t want to spend the afternoon in the rain. Right now, according to my preferred weather site, it’s going to be cloudy during the day, so I can deal with that. The rain isn’t moving in till later. So we shall see.
Meanwhile, it’s shaping up to be a busy day. Which is good.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then I must purtify and move onward into the day.
FCM, looked on my favorite weather site and it’s showing cooler (high 66F) but the rain looks like it is settling in on Sunday, so hopefully it’ll be a good day for the March.
Was supposed to rain here yesterday and we got maybe, 3-4 drops, so hopefully it’ll hold off here until I get to DC Thorsday. Can’t decide if I should park at the airport (about $50 or take taxis (about $40) back and forth.

It’s cloudy here and the high is going to be 61. I hate to do it but we might have to turn the heat on for a bit to take the chill out. According to my phone it’s supposed to rain F/S/S but I’m over 60 miles from DC, so who knows what it’ll be doing down there.

He is not happy about the no more treats rule, he’s still begging and when he doesn’t get them he does something naughty to get my attention. All the toys in the house and he goes for the stuff he knows he is not allowed to play with. I feel bad for him but he needs to get over it. I know he is a bit bored as well. He tried to get the dog to play with him yesterday. It was kind of cute, he would hide behind the grocery bags and stalk the dog, then he’d jump out and rub against the dog and hide behind the bags again. Of course the dog has no clue. Adam has toys all over the house but if I pick one up to play with him he walks away. Then he starts aggravating Sah-son to play with him.
Yesterday was a bit of a panic day. I had (without thinking) deposited the check my mother gave me into the wrong checking account. I’ve never had checks for that account. So I gathered up funds from multiple places to put the in the other checking account, only I so seldom write checks anymore and I couldn’t find the checkbook. Finally found it.
Minor panic early this morning because the funds weren’t there and the CS person assured me they would be. However, they are there now.
Now I just have to redo the taxes and file the paperirk.
I want to get the wildflower seed out today or tomorrow, that way the rain can do the watering for us. I hope the lawnmower gets here soon, after all the rain that is predicted we are really going to need it.
I need to get up and get busy, lots to do today and I haven’t had breakfast yet.
Much has been accomplished, so huzzah! I like working with Josh - I’ve done enough drafting for him that I pretty much know how he wants things done. He tried to claim me today as his personal drafter when I mentioned I was finishing up something for someone else. At least someone appreciates my efforts!
I need to remember to set out the sprinkler this afternoon. No rain forecast till the weekend and my new plants need to be kept watered till they’re established. Don’t let me forget! <bracing now for worthless reminders…>

I am the one deserving of an apology that still has not been forthcoming. Let’s just say I let them know I am still the boss. When I speak to you about an upcoming trip we are sending you on for training, that is costing someone and if you had to pay for it it would be upwards of $5K, please have the courtesy to stop texting long enough to look at me and act interested. Henceforth, until I decide otherwise cellphones are to be turned off, left at home or locked in their safes. Includes me too but I do have a work cell.

Worthless reminders are those offered mere seconds after the phrase “remind me to…” is uttered. My spousal unit is famous for that. Like when we’re leaving the house and I say “Remind me to call my mother when we get home” and he immediately says “Call your mother when we get home.” Because he’s so funneeeee!

Yep, I’d be ticked off too. I wonder if anyone pays attention anymore and more importantly, I think it will get worse.
Checked in for flight (American Airlines, not United) and they offered an upgrade to 1st class for $75. Now admittedly, this is on a regional airline, so the seat is not likely to be hugely more comfortable and I’m only on the plane for 1.5 hours, but I’m a Gentleman Of Leisure ™ so what the hell, I spent the dough and got seat 1A.
