jane the cane, I’ll likely do with the lipstick stains like I have in the past. I just wash them every time I do laundry, even though I didn’t wear them and eventually, the stains come out.
doggio, just what is Bojangles seasoned poke loin?
Glad you’re stayin’ alive shoe.
seanette, I had energy lag with lisinopril when I first began taking it. YMMV.
shady, my last desktop ran Windows 7 (it’s still in the bedroom closet). It has a suite of PopCap games on it that I like to play.
I got moved to another station at irk today. Right now, I think that they really don’t know what they want to do with me. Frankly, with the business the way it’s been lately, it wouldn’t surprise me if they offered buy outs again soon. If the offer is good enough, I’ll take it.
@Sunny_Daze , we fly outta here Thursday. Today the bruise is as purple as a Concord grape. I’m convinced it’s a hematoma and when I get on the plane, part of it will break off, travel to my lung and become a pulmonary embolism. Peedin, it’s a bruise.
Howdy all. New week. Same old here. Lazy hot day. The lawn was mowed today and that’s all that was accomplished. I had a short nap and I’m gonna raid the fridge for leftovers and hopefully early bedtime tonight.
Well it seems by brother has decided to do the whole drive, Cincy to Maine, rather than stopping at my place for a break. Guess I can put the beers back in the fridge.
wetone Take care o that bruise. donwanna hear about lungissues,
MOAR puppie pics, please. I’m still in the deciding if’n I want to get a new pup stage, and y’alls pup pics are helping.
Howdy Y’all! As promised, today has been a day of high sloth. It has rained most of the day, so I have not ventured any further than the mailbox, and to retrieve the biiiiiiiiiiig trash can. Sup got cooked and et and cookies got baked and a bunch of 'em have been scarfed down. Thus has been the day at da cave.
MOOOOOOM I’m glad your mom is plague free and is gettin’ out to do sump’n. I liked the Downton Abbey series but don’t want to go see the movie. Then again, I don’t like goin’ to the movin’ pictures anymore because people are annoyin’. I would watch it on Netflix, however.
Nettie kudzu is Satan’s own vine. Ivy is a close second. Kudzu grows like three hundred yards a day.
shades sorry for the sucky 'puter experience. On the plus side you have a shiny new machine to play with!
Wheelie geez! I hope this is the final hoop. Of course we want to hear about your life! I mean I give the daily southwest Jawja weather report and what we’re havin’ for supper each day because I know y’all could not live with knowin’ both those things.
I used to live on a higher floor. Now I am on 2. I get the sun at sunset except…no I dont. The tree covers it all. It wS 85 here a few days ago and had to wear a sweater. Heat rises. Not seriously wondering what makes trees die…
Wifey had yoghurt for dinner. I had baked mahi mahi with taco seasoning in a low-carb tortilla with cole slaw (no dressing – just veg), lime juice, and sour cream, with 4505 chicharrones.
My workout was cut short because my brother called. He called last night, too, so I was concerned. Turns out he thought he’d called our eldest sister last night–one of those senior brain glitches we all have now and then. We discussed some family history, probably apocryphal, since I can’t find any historical records of it. I’m tempted to tell the younger generations that we’re all descended from King Arthur on Dad’s and “one of the Ceasars” on Mom’s.
I’ll tell you what makes trees die. It’s lightening. There was a tree at the cemetery, huge old thing, struck by lightening late last year. Didn’t take down branches, it stripped off most of the bark on the main trunk. That killed it off fast. It had to be taken down, and I imagine someone got a heck of a lot of good firewood. But it’s sad to lose such a big old tree.
I took Mauser to the park today, the weather was wonderful. Tonight, late, it’s supposed to be stormy, I hope I can get him out tomorrow again.
I had a bit of happy news from my cousin in Nebraska. She has taken on the chore of selling some of the old stuff from my mother’s house. The proceeds will go to a nursing scholarship fund. For over forty years my folks had a wonderful antique pipe organ, it was a hundred years old when they got it in the early eighties. I couldnt play it but Dad especially loved it, and the last time my mother saw him alive that’s what he was doing. Well, a buyer has been found, and from what my cousin said it’s to a person that will cherish it. And it will be coming back to Kansas, to the town of Lindsborg.
Paintcharge, if I knew where to come I’d take one of those beers.
James Di Griz, having a current will is quite important. I am so glad that before my mom passed she had, about six months earlier, updated her will. BTW, do you mind the nickname?
Napped. It stormed enough to wake me. An hour later somebody woke me up for butt skritches. Made smokey chicken and rice with Fresnos, onions and peppers for dinner.
Mine, too. With beer, bacon, and whiskey.
You left Flytrap your CDs, right?
Poke loin marinated in liquid smoke, Tabasco Chipolte sauce, red wine and salt, and dusted with Bo’s Seasoning.
While I very much agree that you need another canine, I think you need a mature dog. Pups are cute as can be, but when you are working, you WORK for hours on end. A puppy would have problems but an older rescue dog would love to hang out in your shop and watch you work for hours on end. Of course, I’ve only had two dogs in my entire life so I could be 100 percent wrong.
So, it only got up to a hundred outside today. It got to 84 inside, but I spent most of my day on the porch. Poor hubs can’t move his comp outside so he sat inside and suffered while saving the world from online monsters.
Hubs suggested going out for Taco Tuesday and we were both getting happy thinking about sitting in AC while wrapping ourselves around a couple of frozen margaretas before remembering that today was Monday. Subway substituted.
The renters behind us are selling all their stuff and moving to Alaska. I hope they have a great life there. Because they have sold their beds, they are staying with family while their three dogs are staying out in their yard. Alone. With none of the stuff they are used to seeing. Animal control came out a while back but the dogs are still barking. I wish everyone loved their pets like us dopers love their pets.
Of COURSE you need a dog, how is this even a question? I’m sure that if you go the shelter adoption route (my preference for my own pets), the challenge will be only taking ONE home with you (it is for me). Second the advice for an adult dog, since their adoption odds are lower than the cute baby puppies.
DH got home, assessed the remaining piece of ivy, then just barehanded yanked it out rather than needing tools. Showoff construction worker.
DH came to bed shortly after I got up, and he’d let Buddy stay in. Buddy was quite calm about the matter but did get some lap time with me ASAP. He does seem to have an owie on his head that’s getting hydrogen peroxide applied every chance I get. He doesn’t seem to object to this. Gotta think about keeping him in more for his own safety. He IS neutered (I checked), but still seems to be getting into too many scuffles with something.
It’s 83F inside. Hubs is sitting over his gaming comp in the hottest and stillest place in our house. He’s gotten more than cranky. I’m sitting by an open window in my stitching room and getting cold because its around 70 outside. I suggested that hubs might want to sleep in front of the window or out on the porch and got crabbed at. He wants to just be left alone to suffer silently.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave. Also Amazon sent me an email that I won’t be able to download books on my 10 year old Kindle after August. Now I have to buy another. I know it’s so old it make modem noises when I download things, and First World Problems and all, but I haven’t been this upset since I had to upgrade from stone tablets.

That happened to a tree in our yard when we lived in Middleburg, FL in the early 90s. I was home alone with my then toddler daughter and a major T-storm rolled thru. Lightning struck this big oak that stood maybe 40’ from the back of the house - scared the living crap out of both of us. After the storm, we went out and saw bits of bark everywhere. The pieces that fell on the concrete driveway left spots that looked like blood.
That’s when we learned how expensive it is to have a tree removed, something we’re facing within the year. Dammit.
Nickname time - Coppertone? CocoaButter? Help me here, Mumpers!
It’s been raining pretty much all night. I woke a bit before 4, and that was that. In a bit over an hour, I have to take Roxy to school and bring Tobester here. Gonna call today and find out when I can get my car back. FCD has a dental appointment at 9 to start the process of replacing a crown. It won’t be done till July. Why does it take so long? I’ve never had it done, so I don’t know.
Apart from babbysitting, my plans today include making a pot of bean soup. Today’s high is promised in the low 60s so soup will be a welcome meal. Apart from that, I got nothing. The kid should keep my occupied
BTW, if you haven’t seen my FB, I posted a pic of FCD’s folks with their great-grands. My daughter snapped a dozen or so and she managed to catch all 4 of them with eyes open and looking at the camera - it’s a photographic miracle!
