Emergency, aka how high can someone be trapped?

Roy and Johnny sure liked climbing up on high things, but was that a requirement to be a paramedic, or even a fireman? Could I be a productive member of LCFD and refuse to go up on a crane, and tower, a tall tree, (when actual free climbing is involved)? Would the other firemen call me a pussy?

According to actual police officers, Barney Miller was the single most accurate show in terms of police officers actual day to day jobs - mostly paperwork.

But, let us give a tip of the hat to Emergency: Animal Control, a short lived spinoff about dogcatchers.

Jack Webb would never show a woman with prominent nipples in wet underwear.*Deborah Zon in “Down Time” (S2E13) Randi Oakes, in her second appearance before joining the cast as Officer Bonnie Clark, gets the same treatment in that episode but doesn’t show the same things.

*MeTV showed the episode yesterday and blurred those bits, so I had to go find an unaltered version.

I don’t know whether you are incredibly prophetic or just subtly snarky, but they tried that. It didn’t take.

I was being snarky. I actually watched an episode of that.

Adam-12

I lived in the San Fernando Valley and it was a game recognizing all the location shots.

Related bit of trivia: Shortly before Jack Webb’s death in 1982, he considered bringing back Dragnet for yet another run. Harry Morgan was busy playing Col. Potter on MASH*, so Webb decided to have Kent McCord as Friday’s new partner. No indication whether McCord was to play Jim Reed or a completely new character, but I think most fans would have welcomed a pairing of Friday and Reed, especially since McCord had appeared as Reed in a couple of episodes of Dragnet as well.

I still do that. If they give a good enough shot of a street sign, I whip out google maps and see if I can find the location, and see how it has changed in the intervening 45 years. Surprising how many locations are within a mile of Universal Studios!

Tons of good info and photos of Adam-12 on this site. More than you might ever want to know.
