Christie endorses Trump

Maine’s dirtbag Governor Paul LePage just endorsed Trump!

So now I guess we’re gonna have two Vice Presidents!

The biggest insult to Christianity this election season has been Trump’s proposed religious test for visitors to the US. Anything else pales in comparison.

Mr. Christie may feel that being appointed to the Supreme Court is a surer gig than being either president or vice-president.

Really? A clever headline is “an insult to Christianity”? Maybe the editors of HuffPo should be taken out and stoned in the village square for blasphemy. Frankly the real insult to Christianity was at the end of the first debate when the Fox News moderator asked each of the candidates if they had been talking to God lately and what advice God was giving them. The real insult to Christianity is every time an evangelical nutcase opens his mouth to condemn in the name of Jesus the very things that Jesus would do.

Seriously ? Considering all the things christianity did to others and each other from around 200 AD to 1900 AD, I would consider this fairly tame.

And I’m not particularly anti-christian.

Don’t let it be said that Trump doesn’t have a “type”.

I’ll admit that this election season feels like it has been running since 200 AD, but I doubt that’s actually the case.

Let us dispel with this fiction that Trump doesn’t have a type. He has an exact type.

An inheritable type, even.

I was thinking that Trump probably needed a moderate, well-liked, establishment Republican with a good temperament as his running mate. Christie is only 2 out of 4, but I’m not sure who else might be willing to jump on the Trump Train.

Speaking of looking for the presidency for self gain, it is interesting to note that Trump wants to have the chance to kill the inheritance tax & corporate taxes.

Agreed.

Trump needs a running mate with credibility as a major figure but who nonetheless fits fairly well with the anti-establishment brand. Of the available big names, Christie is the least likely to be seen as secretly trying to control the Donald. I can’t think of anyone better for Trump (or, for that reason, worse for the rest of us).

As for Clinton’s pick, I like Warren. Not because of exciting the base, but because this seems to be a year when voters want someone who is bold and fearless. Hillary picking a woman fits that bill. You could make an excellent argument that picking a Mexican-American, a member of a group the likely GOP nominee describes as rapists and killers, would be similarly bold. But I think some of the swing voters we need would see it as pandering.

I am not sure you loyal Democrats are making very objective guesses about Trump’s running mate.

This could be the break the McCain campaign has been waiting for!

I fully agree that guesses aren’t objective. Even reasoned opinions aren’t objective.

But, if you mean me, I am, objectively, not a loyal Democrat. I vote for Republicans at least 20 percent of the time.

Now Maine’s Gov Paul LePage has endorsed Donald Trump.

Endorsed, yes. Ringing endorsement, no

I’m finally convinced that it’s time. It’s important for governors to come out and pick our poison.

I’m going to go off and hit my head against a wall now.

Perhaps Trump has always wanted a pitbull to back up his rhetoric? Can’t get much nastier than Christie, and now he seems to have acquired the squirrel-y LePage. Oooohhhhhh, it’s gonna’ get real good now.
