I could swear that there is a specific (french?) term for wearing the same color tie as dress shirt. I tried Google, but couldn’t find anything.
Anyone know it?

monochrome
My guess: “matching”?
The guess of the more fashion-savvy Cat Who Walks Alone, who is sitting here at the dining room table: “The Regis Philbin Look?”
Me: “Regis Philbin?”
Her: “Yeah, the guy from Who Wants to be a…”
Me (levelly): “I know who he is, dear. Um, does he always wear a tie the same color as his shirt?”
Her: “Yeah, he’s the one who started it.”
So, Fashion Wisdom from MacArthur High School Class of '02.
FWIW.
I’m going to spell this wrong, I’m sure, but is it monocromatic?
I know Monochromatic, but I thought there was a two word french term for it En P???.
I suppose I’m mistaken.
I don’t have an answer, but I think I have a cite. In the movie “The Couch Trip”, Dan Aykroyd plays an imposter psychiatrist. At one point, he’s buying new clothes and instructs the clerk to match the shirt and tie. She replies condescendingly, “you mean ???”. Don’t recall the phrase, but it was French.
Haven’t seen the movie, but thanks for the reference, that and Philbin may help my Google searches.
“Ton sur ton”?
