Okay Auburn wins the undisciplined awardhands down now.
This is absolutely insane.
My impression of Auburn and NW fighting over the win: “You take it.” “No, you take it.” “No, really, you should have it.” “No, I insist, you take it.” “I’m going to break your kicker’s leg so you can take it.”
And finally, “I’m going give away the tie, so you can have it once and for all. We’re tired of this game anyway.”
That was pretty nuts. I figured NU had it, what with the horeshoes up their asses and all.
Every break went Northwestern’s way, but I don’t have any issues with any of the calls. (Except maybe that roughing the kicker should’ve been running into.)
I think that was a clear roughing. Rolling hard into the kickers leg is what the penealty is there to prevent. All in all the Refs actually did damn good in what was a Keystone kops performence to watch over,
And it looks like Joe Pa is going to throw this game away by turtleing on the lead.

Checked in earlier for a driveby post. Got to agree with most of the comments on the Aub/NU game.
Successful trip Tunica for NY eve. Won a poker tournament, cashed in another. Parlayed my $100 win (10th place) in the 2nd tournament into a $300 at the crap table. Had to drive back (early this morning) went to bed a 4:30 am and damn dog made me take her out at 8 am, even though she went out 4 am. Apparently she did realize it was NY morning.
I am mentioning all that because I snoozed through a lot of the Auburn game.
Why is the field so bad in the LSU/PSU game? Geez, that has got to be embarrassing for the Capital One bowl. When is the last time a game was played on that field? Yes, it is raining, but the field is horrible.
The gator bowl field is full of divots as well, but at least it is not muddy.
They replaced the turf after the stadium was used for Florida high school state championship games, but the weather has been unseasonably cool and the new sod didn’t “take”. It was coming up in chunks during the Champs Sports Bowl (and ruined a Miami player’s knee) but at least it was dry. It rained overnight, giving us today’s quagmire. Kinda wish PSU was in their road whites to really show off the mud.
Apparently those idiots resoddedthe field last week and said everything will be fine so long as it doesn’t rain. :smack:

Would’ve been interesting if NU’s kicker had made the FG on the play where he got roughed. Do you take the points off the board in exchange for the 1st down?

The refs are being hard on close lack of discipline plays, which is tough on the SEC today.

And I lose another one with FSU. They sent Bowden off on a high note (good for them), but I drop another 27.
there are some coaches that I just flat out don’t like; Bobby Bowden & Les Miles are 2. So I’m 1 for 2 on that score.
I wanted Penn State to win, but not like that. That was a horrible call against LSU’s center at the end of the game.
Wonderful, Brent ‘the montone’ Musberger is doing the play-by-play for the Rose Bowl. I expected him to be doing it, but I was hoping for a case of laryngitis.
