College Football Bowl Season, Bowl Pool?

UCLA/Temple is my 1-point game, so meh (but it’s college football, so you can be damn sure I’m watching!)

A lot of people put this low in the confidence rankings. I picked UCLA, but gave it for only two points. The Capt Socks (and jsc?) fan had a lot of confidence in Temple. I really thought UCLA and the PAC-10 would get more respect than low confidence points.

If UCLA loses this game, it does not bode well for Stanford, 'zona, and Oregon.

IIRC, The MAC conference has not won a bowl game in a long, long time.

I gave Temple 18 points. Now UCLA is coming back, just to piss me off. Screw Pac-10 pride…I can’t stand UCLA.

Perhaps my one bit of confidence I had in the Pac-10 will come through after all

Looks like about 8 people (and 3 out of the top 5) didn’t get the memo of putting the Miami/Wisconsin game as a 2nd tier game.

That is why I said upthread that I liked the KISS system.

I put my picks in and was off line for about 4 days. Should I go through the trouble of re-rating whats left?

Yeah, it’s going to make it a bit of a mess to sort out.

Oooooh, Wisconsin’s looking good. Wish I’d picked 'em. :frowning:

(Actually, this is another one I don’t mind. I always love to see old school power football. Wisky’s doing it right.)

And Jacory Harris is getting beaten up pretty badly.

If you got the time, I would do it.

Now that it’s the 4th quarter, do you suppose someone should go let the Miami team know they can get off the plane now? I mean, good Lord. They just never showed up tonight.

Hey now they dominated the hell out of the first 16 seconds of the game.

Touchdown Miami! If the 'Canes win this one on an onside kick, I’m gonna shit myself (and get a significant Pick 'Em boost).

If it’s the 1st and last 16 seconds, they’ll be OK.

Holy shit. Miami recovered the onside kick.

Well, that was entertaining, if anticlimactic. I guess Wisconsin figured out that no QB pressure = Miami scores; QB pressure = Miami goes nowhere.

Harris spent more time on his hairdo than game prep. As a Badger fan, this game was a nice surprise, Bielema’s first bowl win with “his” own players, and hopefully a good sign for a real competitive season next year (a not just happy to make it to the Outback or Capital One type year).

Ouch. Took a big hit in the standings because of last night. Was middle of the pack, now waaaaaaay back there.

Yeah, I’m currently in 10th place but 6 of the people ahead of me did not comply with the ranking rules. It’d be more fun if everyone was on the same level playing field. Oh well, it is what it is. Wins by Nebraska and Bowling Green today would jump me up I’m sure…

I am not compliant because after I picked I was off line for a few days when the rules changed. I do have the bottom 9 games in already, so I am not far off.
If you are close ,you will have an advantage at the end because all your last picks will have high values. My wont .

I had Wisconsin because I have seen them play a few times. They outplayed Ohio State. They have a winebago offense with huge backs and tight ends. They can cause a lot of problems for a smaller defense. I also know many avoid big ten teams .so a good result would be helpful.
