That’s become something of a joke hereabouts. During the TTU-Nevada game, the ref announced over the PA, “You have to give the defense a chance!” First time I’ve heard that call from a ref.
The defense has the right to substitute if the offense does so. If the offense keeps the same 11, the defense can run new people on at their own peril against they hurry up. There was a referee announcement to that effect when OSU quick snapped against a substituting ULL (?) team early on.
The Aggies had some well timed cramps against the OSU hurry up earlier this season. Coach Gundy just praised his strength and conditioning coach and took veiled shots at the Aggies for being out of shape. They seemed a bit odd against Arkansas, but I didn’t really watch that game.
I think this accurately summarizes my team:
- ALABAMA. Bolt guns. Conveyor belts. A quick slaughter, and then three quarters of processing. My complaint about Nick Saban Football as a video game concept and football style is that it is, at its highest levels, no more exciting than watching a well-executed slaughterhouse in action. You can’t block, you can’t run, you can’t pass, and after being afforded the courtesy of a punt you are placed into a press and run over with a Trent Richardson or Eddie Lacy until properly tenderized. The postgame handshake each week is the handing off of a few fine chops wrapped in butcher paper, and Saban’s words are always the same: “Here is your offense. You get your own damn ice to keep it cold.”

Roll Tide.
Well The Michigan/State game is just an ugly pile of mistakes, missed receivers, missed tackles and stupid penalties.
Plus, the announcer is a huge Michigan homer. Denard Robinson isn’t going to go out with you dude.
At least it’s good to see State is still a bunch of classless thugs. Three lates hits on Robinson before they got him injured out of the game, A dead ball punch that neither the Refs or the coach crae to through out of the game, and a taunt in front of 80 thousand people the refs choose to ignore.
MSU was obviously trying to take Denard out of the game. It was dirty football.
How sour are those grapes?
First of all “Sour grapes” Is about pretending not to care, and I pretty obviously do care, so how about about trying to make a dismissive comment that is actually appropriate.
Second, when their thuggery is pointed out all you can come up with is a response of “yeah but you care that they were thugs”? That’s a winning argument
It’s sour grapes when you dismiss a solid win by the Spartans by whining about Denard Robinson getting hit. Maybe you should direct your frustration towards the Wolverine O-line.
Why would I blame the O-line. They did their jobs, and kept the bastard off long enough for Denard to get the ball away. It’s teh dirty bastards who kept trying to injure him by body slamming him late, and trying to twist his head off I am rightfully pissed at.
9/24 passing for 123 yards, sacked 4 times, and running for his life half the game? Awesome performance.
MSU had a problem with penalties all game. Would the late tackles on Denard have been legal tackles if they weren’t late?
I am a Michigan fan, but I figured MSU would win. Uof M does not have a respectable defense.
But MSU was being dirty against Denard. That is just the way it was. They probably gave a bounty to the guy that could hurt him.
Roll Tide. 52-7.
As much as I bleed green and white, it was a hollow victory over Michigan. You just can’t be proud of the dirty play that some of the guys were guilty of. Dantonio has to suspend Gholston even if the Big Ten doesn’t do so first. As for the taunting on the pick 6, BFD. If they get called for it and have 1st down at the 20, MSU could bleed a little more time off the clock before scoring.
MSU was by far the better team out there. The Wisconsin game will be the true test, especially if suspensions come out.
OSU won a game that they wouldn’t have 2 years ago. Some bad breaks on special teams. Offense not clicking well. Texas with 40 minutes or so of possession. Defense stepped up to win it. Fun night to be on 6th street.
And with a bit more experience, Ash is going to be a good QB and make this team scary. The RBs were very good.
Outside of a video game, you will never see a sicker move by a running back than what Trent Richardson did to this poor guy at the end of the run.
Eddie Lacy (Trent Richardson’s backup) already earned the nickname “circle button” for the spin move he does (circle button makes RBs do a spin move in video games). I think it’s time we started calling Richardson D-Pad.
Roll Tide.
To show what kind of “footprint” the Big XII has compared to the SEC, I live in Missouri. The Oklahoma St vs Missouri is being played right now, and it is nowhere to be found on my Satellite (Dish). ESPNU is kind enough to show me the Jacksonville State vs Kentucky game though. And Fox Sports is showing me the Kansas vs Kansas St game.
