Ah. I skipped over the word “early” in your post.
Move to the West Coast.

Wow, just found out that my cable company has made a deal and we get access to ESPN 360. Excellent!
Whew. Roll Tide.
Amen. Good thing we have the best defense in the history of college football, as the offense couldn’t seem to finish.
Ole Miss really figured out the pass rush on McElroy. That was more pressure than we’ve seen all season. The score looks more lopsided than the game actually was.
Re: Florida - LSU…damn, that was ugly. Did they outlaw the forward pass in the SEC? It seemed like there more penalty yards than passing yards – looked the Big 10, ca. 1970. Florida took half the pages out of their playbook, and LSU wasn’t good enough to take advantage of that fact.
Looks like Bobby Bowden’s days are numbered at FSU. 2-4 start to the season that included a win over a top 10 BYU.
As far as my Jackets go, that steal by Nesbitt really saved our asses. The fumble didn’t hurt, either. That defense was ugly, though. I’m predicting a bloodbath vs VT next week.
As far as Florida vs. LSU, Florida’s defense took care of everything. Tebow didn’t need to risk much(still did some stupid plays, but didn’t need to). It wasn’t pretty, but when you turn an option into a dive every time it’s harder to produce.
Jacquizz Rodgers runs for 189 yards and 4 TDs to lead OSU over Stanford, making the Pac-10 march to the Rose Bowl even murkier. The conference is 9 deep and just about any team could beat any other on any given Saturday. Oregon controls its own destiny. If Arizona holds off Washington, they too will control their destiny.
The coaches’ poll will be a laundry list of clueless monkeys looking only at final scores (if they even do that).
It’s clear to me that Florida isn’t nearly as good as either Alabama or Texas right now.
Yeah, very pedestrian game from Tebow… and yet CBS still names him co-player of the game (along with Spikes on defense). I realize “player of the game” is a meaningless honor, but would it REALLY have killed the media to not offer the Golden Boy fellatio just once? Yeesh.
I think, if I played for Florida, I’d be pretty pissed at how Tebow monopolizes the attention. Winning is nice and all, and I’m sure that goes a long way towards putting the kibosh on any resentment… but still, do you think the rest of the Florida guys ever shake their heads and wish for even a millisecond in the limelight?
The OSU - TAMU game was pretty good. I road tripped down to College Station and had a whole bunch of fun out at Kyle Field, especially as the good guys won.
Even as an Alabama booster, I’ve never been a fan of spot-shifting before it starts to mean something for the BCS. And both Alabama and Texas control their own destiny for making it to the NC. Considering that Texas has been playing a series of JV softball teams, I don’t see a good reason to shake things up.
Actually, I’m trying to forget about the first half of the Texas game and concentrate on the ass-whuppin’ that was the second half. Very afraid for next week. Watch out, 'Horns.
It is time for Bowden to resign. I’m an FSU alum, class of 1991, so I remember the good old days quite well. I’d blame FSU’s decline on more schools in Florida fielding teams (FIU/FAU) as well as Central Florida and South Florida fielding competitive teams except for that Florida still is a dominant team and Miami has made a comeback. A trip to the Car Care Bowl won’t do it for FSU.
Just noticed that U-dub came back with 2 late TD’s to beat Arizona. The Pac-10 looks like 2 good teams, 1 bad team, and 7 teams beating each other up. (Which can probably be said about every conference, come to think of it).
Since nobody in the US east of Seattle probably saw this play, you gotta see how UW won. Incredible play. The football gods are obviously pleased with the Huskies.
Unfortunately, people in Arizona also saw it.
Except no other major conference has 10 teams in it.
Since we got another GT fan here, (hey AdmiralCrunch!, Class of '83 here) let me talk about the ACC a little.
The FSU/GT had absolutely no defense. At the half-time interview, Bowden said his players looked like they didn’t know to tackle the guy with the ball. There was one punt in the game.
The ACC schedule is strange. Virginia has played only one conference game and Georgia Tech and Boston College has played 4 already.
Virginia had an unexpected win against Indiana yesterday. After losing its first three games (Richmond, TCU, So Miss) they have come back to win against UNC and then blowout Indiana.
Of the one loss teams, I think Virginia Tech is best. There loss was against Bama and they blew out Miami who has beat two teams currently in the top 20 (GT, Oklahoma). And they also beat #19 Nebraska. Upon further review, apparently the voters agree with me as they are ranked #4. If you are going to lose, lose early!
VT should run the table. They should be big favorites in every game they play except for maybe GT. GT has no defense, but the game is in Atlanta next week.
My prediction for the BCS Game is Virginia Tech vs UF/BAMA winner. I don’t think Texas will run the table.
They were less thrilled with the Huskies against Notre Dame, sadly.
Lots of marquee matchups this weekend:
Last night there was Cincy vs South Florida.
Tomorrow:
Tex vs Oklahoma
VTech at GTech
SC at ND
Iowa at Wisc
Bama vs USoCar
Ark at Flor
One game that is a little off the radar but I am interest in is Missouri vs Okie St. Missouri has not beat anyone really notable this season and Okie state got a lot of preseason praise.
Question: Is Cincinnati the best CFB team in the state of OHIO? Undefeated and they have a ranked team.
