This Iowa game is amazing. It’s like Stanzi just tries to keep Iowa within 30 points going into the 4th quarter…got 'em right where we want 'em.
eta: Ole Miss is about to drop out of the top 25. I think they edge out Cal for having the most disappointing (ie, falling the farthest from their highest/most undeserved ranking) season.
Nevertheless, supposing Cincinnati wins out, including against two ranked opponents, I can guarantee you that they will somehow get jobbed out of the title game. They aren’t allowed at the big boy table just yet due to lack of bloodline and lacking a longer history of winning, which of course shouldn’t matter.
I think they are 9-0 and ranked…4th? I bet UC could beat them.
Cincy played Syracuse, a team that [snicker] beat Notre Dame last year. [/snicker]
I loved the NBC promos last week for the Wash St/Notre Dame game. First time ever Notre Dame has been on NBC prime Time in the regular season.
Lets see my sports veiwing options tonight are:
World Series Yankees/Phillies (scheduled but may get rained out) on Fox
Texas/Okie St on ABC
USC/Oregon on ESPN2
Other USC/Tenn on ESPN
Did anyone else watch any of the Georgia-Florida game? I only flipped in and out, but I happened to see Brandon Spikes trying to gouge out the eyes of one of the Dawgs running backs. You can see a clip here, although it might get taken down (just try searching for “Brandon Spikes” in the last 24 hours). Pretty goddamned dirty, and I hope he gets suspended for it.
There should be several suspensions from that game (I’m a Gator fan, and yes some Florida players did engage in such cheapshotting, but I counted more from the Georgia side).
Tebow got back into the Heisman race today I’d say.
EXactly. At the end of the game, Herby had the Ducks leapfrog a lot of teams into the #4 spot. Ignoring the fact that Boise St is undefeated and beat Oregon.
Its possible that Notre Dame can run the table, the only top 25 team they play is Pittsubrgh. They could sneak into BCS bowl consideration and displace TCU or Boise St.
