Come join the Memeing Tillions poker club!

Wow, two seven year olds! I have an active eight year old so that sounds wild.

Good playing with you! We use a “slow” clock, so it shouldn’t take too long to get used to compared to the “turbo” format (which I hate).

ETA: Tonight was our biggest turnout yet, eight players. Cool!

Another tough laydown, but I smelled aces (which he confirmed although didn’t show) and probably should have gotten out earlier: https://upswingpoker.com/hand/?pokeit=424GrVGCg

I see the top three spots on the leaderboard are unchanged from last week, but FrostedGlass moved up to fourth place with the win–congrats!

Reminder to the newer players and everyone who hasn’t played every week: it’s all based on your best ten results over the past year, so in a few weeks we’ll all be competing with “full scorecards”.

Another reminder: Razz on Friday! 9:30 Eastern. Should be fun, hope to see a bunch of you there.

Hey, I’m in third place!

Yeah, you and Mike were jockeying back and forth for a while between third and fourth, but now you’re solidly in third and FG surged up to fourth.

Razz tomorrow! (Or today, depending on when you read this: Friday night at 9:30 Eastern.)

Can’t tomorrow, gotta pick my kids up.

If anyone wants to come play, you need to register now! It’s still just me, and if no one else joins in the next few minutes, it will automatically cancel (no late registration).

I’m in. I hope some others join, though.

Me too! Late registration is now possible. C’mon in, the water’s warm!

Well, it was only the two of us, but we had quite the battle! I ground down MG pretty good (to around half his starting stack or a little less), then he battled back to about 70% of starting stack and we stayed at that level for a long time. Then he worked his way up to a lead, and eventually had me really on the ropes (I think I was down to less than 3K). But I battled back (the forced bets were really big by this point, so it only took a few pots) and although once again he was very tenacious, I eventually took it down.

Really fun, I hope more of you play next time. But in the meantime, we’ve got out regular NLHE game next Wednesday. C ya there!

The big Wednesday night NLHE game starts in three hours! (8 p.m. Eastern)

We had a record turnout last week (eight players), let’s keep it going.

Sorry I’m late to the party, but I might give this a try. I’ve applied to join.

Oh cool, sorry I didn’t see this in time to approve you for tonight’s game. But you are all signed up now, and our next game is our Friday variety game at 9:30 Eastern. We’ll be playing Showtime Hold’em, which is like regular no-limit Hold’em as we play every Wednesday, with one twist: every time someone folds, their cards are visible for the rest of the hand. So if you are playing a flush or straight draw, you can look around and see if your “outs” are still live and adjust your strategy accordingly. Hope to see you there!

yay, i came in 2nd!

I must apologize for my extraordinary luck today. I repeatedly sucked out in must-win moments, and somehow flopped a straight on the final hand. This was my biggest heater in quite a while and I doubt I will get such a good run of cards for the next year.

A win is a win is a win

Yeah, congrats TGIMTTP!

I thought for sure you would catch me on the leaderboard, since you were second before the game started and I only came in fifth today. But although you definitely shaved the margin, for now I’m still in the lead.

Actually, no one shifted positions. I don’t think that’s happened before.

Hope you guys are having fun. We did this starting years ago (I want to say 2004 or 2005) and managed to keep a game going for maybe seven or eight years before it fell apart completely.

Thanks! Yeah, I found the thread for that game and gathered from its long period of inactivity that the game had gone defunct. On the one hand, seven or eight years is quite a long time; on the other, I do still wonder what caused it to fall apart. Do you recall?

Sounds like you should come join us!

Just difficulties at the time of finding ways to play. By the end, we only had three or four people still showing up.
