Back at irk, I had a list of “things boss wants me to do” waiting.
Out of ten things, two were already done and seven depend on other people who happen to be on vacation. I’m now busy verifying that the positioning of my navel has not varied noticeably since last year.
It’s 13 above zero today. A veritable heat wave. I went to bed at 7pm yesterday and woke up wide awake at 3am. Made a cup of tea (gingerbread decaf) and fell back asleep on the couch. Ursula Kitteh decided thaat would be a good time to play with String. sigh
Groceries have been procured and put away in the various places they live until consumed. Chikin pieces are boilin’ for chikin 'n dumplin’s. First load is in the washer. Go Me!

Other than annoying Flytrap I’m doing some laundry and trying to clean a little from 5 days of us both being sick at the same time. We both can get a little untidy when we’re really sick.
I managed to stay awake for most of a 90-minute staff meeting that really didn’t much apply to me since I don’t do work orders or purchase parts. What I did learn is that we’ve got a metric buttload of work this year! Gonna be busy!
Busy is usually good, from an employment perspective, as long as it isn’t crazy making.
Last night, for poorly understood reasons, I did not sleep well. Too hot, too cold, not dark enough. Sleep is weird.
It takes 3 of us to get Pooka bear up the stairs now. He’s not happy unless he’s upstairs. His den/sleeping spot is upstairs. His vet is really ticking me off.
Why is it that when it’s a weekend, a holiday, or a vacation day, I wake up at six or six-thirty, and when I need to get up so I can log onto work at 0630, I can’t seem to wake up?
That’s String with a capital S. String is its own entity.
Because the gods of sleep like to screw around with us. The bastards…
Son is finally feeling better, I am really sick.

It was 3° when I went out this morning. In related news, I must be a healthy puppy as my nose was cold.
I borrowed Bobbio’s [del]poison pen[/del] voice; tried to make a complaint to town codes dept about a neighbor; she not only knew the name of the resident from the address but she looked at the code occifer & said, “Will you go out there, again.” Don’t know why they were there before, but it sounds like this is for different reasons - yes, plural.

Last time I saw him a few weeks back, he was upright and mobile. No idea why he deserted us.
We are being threatened with 1-3" of snow overnight. Dammit.
I thought we had an idea, back at the time. All forgotten now. Please let him know we miss him and to please come home before the spiders with boots or spears or whatever that was coming looking for him.
I am medicated on schedule today, so I am not in crazy pain. This is good, so I will play video games. This is about my speed today. Heh. 
Supper was rotissed chickie, instant smashed N.O.T.s, and broccoli. Tin Roof Sundae later.
Time to batten down the hatches before the snow…
Chikin ‘n dumplin’s hit the spot on a cold day. There was snow east of us today! Ok, maybe an inch but still snow in south Jawja. Nuttin’ here however except cold. As I always say re snow, better thee than me. The “NO SNOW” signs earned their keep today.

We had a veritable heat wave this morning. When I took Nelson out, it was 16F. It actually almost got above freezing today too. I’ll be glad when this hellish cold stuff goes away.
