Come on in, the water's warMMP

Home. It took about 5 minutes of the defroster on high to melt the ice on my windshield. The roads were wet, with occasional small spots of drifted snow - it’s mighty windy.

**FCD **wants to go to Cracker Barrel for supper - he’s had a hankering for biscuits and gravy. So I guess that’ll be supper.

Oh, and the gutter cleaners didn’t make it today - quelle surprise!!

Gomer Pyle “Quilly surprise, quilly surprise, quilly surprise!”

The fried poke chops were good but I am reminded why I don’t do them much. Tummy is goin’ URF right now. It shall pass (HEE!) however. Anywho they were right tasty.

Nut why do you have to change leftover pound coinage? If it’s related to the EU, I will be thoroughly mystified.

WetOne it sounds like you should visit the doctor. Never been this sick in your life probably means you ought to at least call in to the doc’s office. Feel better.

I slept too much. I had a weird dream that started with me as some sort of spy trying to infiltrate the household of a crazy trillionaire, immediately after I ran into my parents car camping (they literally turned their car into a camper) next to their neighbors on the road. It got stranger from there. Sometimes I regret naps.

I love naps. Even the crazy ones. **Flytrap ** actually made me LOL with the Gomer Pyle imitation. RIP Gomer.

Made baked fried chicken with potato wedges and peas n’ peppers… It dropped below freezing again. Watching hockey.

bumba, your muffins sound good, but I’d leave out the coconut (I’m one of those people :stuck_out_tongue: ).

I got chilled at the doctor’s this morning. The examining room was pretty frigid. It’s a good thing I wasn’t required to strip down to my skivvies. When I got home, I still couldn’t get warmed up, so I crawled under the covers with my mobile heating pad and took a nap. Back to normal now.

I think I told you that my medicare part D insurer changed their list of preferred provider pharmacies again, didn’t I? Well they did, and I am mightily annoyed about it.
After stumbling around on their website for far too long I finally discovered the magic combination of key presses to get to the list of preferred pharmacies, only to find out that none of the pharmacies in my little town were on it. The closest was the CVS pharmacy inside the target store in the next town over. According to their website it’s 6 miles away but I know from experience it’s a 30 minute drive, so I don’t know about that. Oddly enough, almost all of the pharmacies on the list had CVS as part of their name. :dubious:

Anyway, today I gathered up all of my prescriptions and made the trek to target. Talked to a nice young pharmacist and got them transferred. He told me that CVS had bought Aetna insurance company, which I think is somehow the owner of my insurance company, and had also purchased target.

“If you can’t beat 'em, buy 'em”, I always say. Saw a lot of that when I worked for corporate Murika. Personally I think corporations are the biggest threat to the ‘free’ world ever devised and should be strictly regulated and limited. By force if necessary.

Anyway part II, I figgered that as long as I was there I should take care of my rather small shopping list. Let me tell you, target’s prices aren’t what they used to be, they’re worse! I also noticed that the store was relatively empty compared to what it was the last time I was in there, about a year ago. I think they’re going the way of K-mart and Sears. Just sayin’

I’ll likely be changing my insurance plan sometime this year.

Supper was good. Ice cream has also been ingested. I’m thinking about moseying back to bed and book (OK, tablet, but it’s for reading.)

Tonight’s low: 9° - yeah, I’m gonna wanna get up in the morning. I worry about icy roads for my morning commute. Hope the county treats the roads tonight so I don’t spin out on my commute.

Be safe Mooooommm and soon to be granny

bumba I have Aetna and the choices are CvS or mail order. I also had to get all my geezer meds on a three month at a time plan. I asked my scratch and dent Dr about this acquisition and he said he can see no good from it. Btw. Loving the soap.

If anyone makes a snowman please post a pic. I need to see a real snowman.

Thank goodness my Hubs has installed heat in our home. Had both air and heat in the sane day. F’ing hot flashes.

Just checked and we are at 53F going down to 51F. Tis cold for we subtropical’s. I do feel compassion for youse true mumpercicles.

bumba, my choices are mail order or CVS. I chose the CVS inside my local Tar-jay. One nice thing about that location is that instead of the worthless loyalty card they give you to use at stand alone stores, you get a $5 Target gift card every 10 refills and one for getting your flu shot there.

From NPR:
Associated Press reports that frozen iguanas are falling out of trees in Florida.

Sunny, I saw the MD Tuesday. She diagnosed sinus infection with fever. I’m on Augmentin and Prednisone. I get this periodically so am confident with the diagnosis. I am feeling better now. Ursula Kitteh is snoring on the couch and I’m about ready for bed.

That’s snot funny.

Why not? Dinja ever have waffles topped with sugar & a glass of milk? I’m just combining the milk & sugar together. Besides, I’ve never seen a stomach with a a watch.
Went to [del]run[/del] snowshoe club tonight; it literally was uphill thru the snow coming home.
Now I gotta go warsh everything I’m wearing & find something better for dinner than the cereal I just ate (I was starvinhk). One of these days I should actually calculate my caloric intake, but between the workouts & being outside in these temps, I can tell you it’s many, many thousands.

I’m glad you’re on the mend.

I have no words.

Canes beat the Pens!

So the cold is causing a reptile dysfunction?

Yay for a diagnosis, WetOne!

Almost 7pm here in Waikiki, and I’m seeing a reading of 77 degrees Fahrenheit. A little bit of a breeze though, making it feel closer to 70. Brrrr. Still nice for strolling along the beach though.

Well, the long range weather looks ------ interesting. Sub-zero the next couple nights and then like 38 and rain Monday. Which means the rain will hit the ground and turn to instant ice. I can drive in any cold or snow levels you want to imagine; I’ve done it before. But on solid ice? Unfortunately I didn’t spend enough time in Minnesota during their winters to develop the skill.

Naw, I don’t think it’s EU related, it’s something they’ve been grumbling about for a while. Apparently forgeries of £1 coins were getting to a silly level, so a totally different design was brought out last year which is supposably far less easy to forge. There really were a lot of fake £1s around, you’d get 'em in change with the gold colour scraped off the edges. So all the old ones are being taken out of circulation. Well, they’re supposed to be already out, and shops won’t take 'em at this point, but banks will still exchange the ones you found down the back of the couch.

The notes have also been replaced, with plastic polymer ones which are supposed to be harder to forge and last longer. Though there never was a big problem with fake £5 notes, there was with £10s and £20s. New £20s aren’t out yet, but they’re due to show up in a few years.
