Would you mind e-mailing me and telling me? I’m fascinated by Marxism, since I’m a leftist, yet hate Marx. Is that possible?

Well, it was a lot of things. I searching, reading
more and more. I talked to a lot of people about these
ideas, and I mostly stuck to my guns. It was when
people showed me the logic over and over that I
started to doubt.

I looked back to Marx, and read a lot of the things he
had written. I found his mysogyny and anti-semitism
appalling. My real doubt came at the same time as I
was being asked by the leader of an international
socialist youth organization of which I am a member to
lead an Austin chapter of this organization based on
my previous work at spreading the socialist word to
others. I’m still working on the letter telling him
that I will not be doing that, and that in fact I wish
to no longer be a member of the organization.

I decided to put aside my Marxist prejudices for a
little while, and to do some soul-searching. I decided
that it was best not to listen to other people’s ideas
on things, just to put my mind next to the concept,
and then feel the good ones. You can tell that you’re
near the ocean because you can feel it, and smell the
salt. Same with ideas. You know the ones that work for
you, and you know the ones that are right if you open
yourself up to it.

I came upon my feelings before reading or talking to
people about them. I have since discovered that I am
more or less a follower of “new age spirituality”.
Whatever, I dislike labels. I believe that in every
person there is a little bit of a higher power, and
that if you are in community with others who are in
touch with that power (they don’t even have to know
it, I think that community brings it out anyway). By
bringing people together you can manifest “God” right
there, and experience it. Some people have no concept
of their inner spirit, and therefore live in such a
way as to step on other people, etc. Some people have
truly evil energy inside them, and if they can control
a croud, they can manifest the evil the same way that
the “God” is manifested in the positive communities.

Any questions? I didn’t get too specific there, but
that’s a good overview.

Later.

Lucky
