My thoughts “Earthlink still exists?”

The marketing department finally realized that the Earth isn’t egg-shaped?

Is it part of a “spot the difference” campaign? Because I see a couple of differences between the two, but it’s not as dramatic as say…these two:

Yep, EarthLink still exists. But the fact that you ask that is the challenge facing our marketing dept and part of what is behind the new logo.

First off, EartLink is still around but is no longer an ISP. Well technically we do still have a few customers paying for ISP type services, but that’s not really what we do anymore. We are an IP, data center, and IT security company now, catering to mid size businesses. Blah, blah, blah.

Problem is, everyone thinks of us as the old ISP company and are stunned we are still around. So the new logo is supposed to be " a way to honor our legacy and our values, while adopting a cleaner more modern look. The change to a circle represents the completeness of the solutions that we can offer, while the change to a gray colored cleaner font shows that we are a fresh company in the here and now"

Yeah, I know, sounds like marketing BS to me too.

“…the fact that we didn’t change it in any meaningful way to anyone that we don’t specifically point it out to shows that we will continue to be overlooked…”

Every time I see a bottle of Pepsi, I read it at “Pelosi.” It’s stronger in the typeface on the side of their 16 oz. plastic bottles.

This is the strongest image I could find to illustrate the effect.

Nope.

“With a name like Hitler’s we have to be good.”

I have to say, this has been my favorite logo since I was a kid going on car trips.

It looks like they just corrected their display settings.

I thought she owned Del Monte?
