Then there’s Punoqllads. I’m not sure that’s even pronounceable anyway, but ever since she explained that it’s “spellbound” upside down, I’ve just thought of it that way.

As for norinew, I always thought it was a play on “no renew” like you were trying to tell us you would *not * be renewing your subscription here.

I just saw Cunctator’s name in another thread, and looking at it, it finally dawned on me: It says Cunctator. Not Cuncanator! (Sounds like: CUNK-in-nate-or)
For some reason, it just always sounded like some kind of superhero name, or supervillian, or maybe even a Transformer of some sort. But it’s not. It’s Cunctator. I have no more idea what that means than what Cuncanator means, but I am a little saddened. It doesn’t sound nearly as Transformer-y to me, now. 
On preview: I Googled. I see a Roman Commander whose name means “delayer”. He does not appear to turn into a car or giant robot.

I always thought CUNCTATOR was a play on DICTATOR.
A lot of screen names for me are just like hard to pronounce alien names in sci-fi novels. Bene Tleilax or Tleilaxu in the Dune novels for instance. My eyes encounter the word, my brain quickly decides it’s too much work to sound it out and from then on I “hear” it in my head as something more pronounceable. Like “tilAXoo.”
For me it’s picunurse. Until she posted about a nursing topic, I thought of it as “pick you nurse”, when what it stands for is “PICU nurse” – a nurse in a pediatric intensive care unit.

I always read it as pick you nurse as well, even though I knew what it meant. And I am pretty sure that “she” is a “he” although I might be wrong with that one, too.

She’s a she, and she’s a sweetheart. We’ve discussed her name at Seattle Trivia, and many of us parsed it as “peek-oo-nurse” - kind of like pikachu. Heh. She’s cute enough to pull it off.

It isn’t -fy, it’s -yf. Take another look. And I’m pretty sure “why be a wife” is precisely the intended meaning.
I always assumed that Anastaseon, Aesiron, and Asterion were fans of some sort of franchise (Buffy? Naruto? Star Trek?) that I just wasn’t aware of, and were intentionally patterning their names after some sort of naming convention of that series. Turns out it’s just a coincidence.
