Cool names for average folks.

I worked with a young man by the name of Kavon Rad. He was a :wally but his name was the coolest I had ever heard.

Friend of mine had a dog he named “Y D”

One day I was with him at the animal hospital the vet asked what the name of his dog was and my friend said, “Y D”, but the vet wrote down “Whitey”. (Confusion over the dog’s name happened all the time. The dog was white.)

My friend said, "No,no! Its the initials Y and D. The vet asked what they stood for and my friend told him, “Young Dummy”. (Which is really what the stand for).

Coolest name for a dog I have ever heard of.

I knew him in his earlier days. When he was playing music he called himself “The Bossman.”

I know a fair number or people with cool names, but I’m not sure I feel comfortable posting them online, especially without their permission.

I did have a class with Marques Tuiasosopo, a football player for UW at the time (now I think he is with the Raiders).

Phil LeMunyan - my great-grandfather (sounds sorta like “filet mignon” if pronounced correctly)

Candy Bar - someone my mother knows.

Lolly Pop - friend of a friend

Hogjaw Twaddle - name I once saw in the phone book. However, the name has not appeared in recent years.

Golden Kuntz - this name is still curre the phonebook in my hometown. I hope that surname is pronounced like “Koontz.”

Rusty Boner - father of a guy who attended my high school. Perhaps this name is on the other end of the spectrum.

Fuqan Yang - college professor. I mentioned him in this thread (post #6)

Went to school in year 7 with a girl named Lescelle Dippelle.

She pronounced her last name to rhyme with “Nipple”

Maori names are generally cool but I knew a kid a few years ago called Takiwairua Taurima, it just rolled off the tongue so well.

I knew a young Army captain with the name John Carter. A name like that does not happen by accident.

I still think it is way cool.

Of course “James Bond” the character was named after James Bond the man, the James Autobahn of the Caribbean. Ian Flemming thought it was the most bland name possible. The real James Bond loved it. He spent the rest of his life going “Bond, James Bond” to hotel clerks.

I just had a recovered memory of a girl I knew in school last-named Fangboner! She was one of those gals who had a face like a bootheel but a dynamite wacky sense of humor and was pretty popular. I asked her how to pronounce it. She said, “There’s no good way. Just like it sounds.”

…er, “looks.” :smack:

I’ve known a Polly Patch and a Guiselle Crow. The latter went by Jelly Crow.

Also knew a Jack Horner once upon a time.

I went to high school with a girl named Mary Christmas. We hung around in different circles, so I never actually met her (it was a pretty big school). I think she had a brother named Noel, but I could be mistaken.

The boyfriend’s dad’s first name is “Stevenson.” He goes by “Steve.”

Somehow the boyfriend’s middle name (that is also a family name) is “Clyde.”

I had a neighbor named Vagina Hickey.
