Could you please stop making straight men look like ignorant fucks?

No, actually, you are nota lesbian trapped in a man’s body ”, you’re an ignorant choad whose swaggering machismo makes you out to be exactly the fuckhead you truly are. It’s not funny, it’s not original, and it’s highly offensive, rude and demeaning. It’s nice that your dick controls your brain, but could you ask it to shut up before it says stupid things?

And no, the best way to have lesbian sex isn’t to “put [you] in the middle”, it would be to exclude you entirely, you slimy toad-thing. I bet you’re the same kind of person who, when rejected by a lesbian, calls her a “man-hating dyke.” Lesbians have the right idea - it takes wastes of sperm like you completely out of the equation.

It’s idiots like you that make me want to make more lesbian friends because I am ashamed to be the same gender as the ignorant FUCKS that say these things.

Seriously. Just shut up. You sound like Beavis and Butthead. And if you persist, I’m going to start making rude, ignorant comments about watching you and your father suck each other off. Oh, yeah - that’s hot. Huh huh huh.

Esprix

(Disclaimers: I acknowledge that the links above are not verbatim quotes, but rather generalizations based on the comments therein; the links are included for reference of why I started this thread. I also acknowledge that the sight of two women being intimate arouses some straight men, but the verbalization of such to actual lesbians is rude, ignorant, uncalled-for, and completely out of touch with reality, sensitivity and common sense.)

Male chauvinist hetero pig passin’ through to fix the coding - CF

FUCKING CODING!

Wow. You must be upset, to screw up your coding like that.

I thought this was going to be about advertising; I’ve seen a growing trend of advertising based on the plotline of “you are a moron, you need our product to save you from yourself”, and, guess what, the protagonist is always a straight guy. Whee.

Then there’s the new BudLight billboard that seems to be sending out the message that Bud Light will cause hot women to take their pants off and kick their legs in the air while guys stand their like a deer in headlights. Yay, us.

Hey, I’ll join you (philosophically, anyway). I want more lesbian friends.

Um, can you post new links? I wanna see.

I think it is in one of those Finding Nemo threads, I believe the one here in the Pit.

First link: Finding Nemo turning kids on to lesbianism. See Baldwin’s post, then see Esprix reply on p. 3

Second link:
First Lesbian Experience…

And I completely agree with the OP. Still I must say I find it hard to explain to those involved why it is wrong. I believe it has to do with (as Esprix note) a complete misunderstanding what being lesbian is about (in particular when compared to transgenderism). And a general lack of sensitivity. But I’ll better leave that to people who are better informed about these issues.

I can just imagine Esprix sitting in front of his computer, logged into the Straight Dope, reading the threads he linked to and screaming “My eyes! My eyes!” and then collapsing into a heap on the floor.

Once again, for the umpteenth million time, Esprix acts like the mere sight of a word or phrase that he disagrees with causes him actual physical pain. He can’t just write off the guy that says these things like the rest of us do (and yes, I do agree that the guy quoted above is rather stupid for saying those things); instead he has to attempt to make everyone else in the world not say things (on a message board that anyone can read) that offend him.

Why don’t you get over yourself already, Exprix? People are gonna use words and phrases and say things that you rattle your cage sometimes. Why do you feel that you have to get all huffy every single time this happens? Why must everything written on this board be Esprix-approved?

There are numerous examples of stuff written on here that I think is absolutely retarded, but I don’t pipe up every single time to rehash the same old argument about it. And if I do say anything it’s just to tell that person they are retarded, not to act like they shouldn’t continue to say it if that’s how they feel.

My point is that by you saying that you are offended at something (and using the argument you always use that “Now everyone knows that X offends me, so every time someone uses X again it means they are being mean because they are intentionally trying to offend me”), you are trying to white-wash this message board so that you can open any thread at any time and not feel bad about anything written in it.

This is an unreasonable expectation, Esprix, and you’re the one with the problem for having this expectation. You therefore have only yourself to blame for feeling bad.

As I’ve said before in discussions of this nature, I’m talking only about posts on a message board and not real life conversation (where Esprix’s argument may actually hold water).

Here’s an example: what if every time someone said something bad about the president (e.g., that he’s dumb, amoral, that his whole family is shady) I were to pipe up and say the things that you always say in threads like this? People would tell me to shut up, that people can say whatever they think about the president, and I shouldn’t expect them no too just because it offends me.

Ah yes. The “lesbian trapped in a man’s body”. Just one of the Big List Of Annoying Jokes. How very clever.

I understand that, as a man, you enjoy sex with women. Just like a lesbian.

And I understand that, as a man, your fantasies of two women going at it are also very similar to the sexual fantasies of many lesbians.

Why, the paralells are uncanny!!!

Now shut up.

Well. I’ve read the threads, and while the jokes aren’t funny at all, particularly the ‘lesbian in a man’s body’ comment…I’m missing where the horrible offense should be taken.

I didn’t see anything on the level of gay bashing…just stupid one liners.

And let me reiterate, just in case anyone missed it, that I’m not defending what the poster said in the links above. I think it’s dumb, too. But I’m not acting like it physically pains me to read ideas that I disagree with, like I’m arguing Esprix is doing.

Taxguy, you are way off-base.

Exprix’s perfectly understandable anger on behalf of the L in LGBT is justified–it’s offensive for straight guys to act as if lesbian sexuality is just a sideshow for the pleasure of straight men.

Are you married? Would you like it if every single time your marriage is alluded to to in conversation, some lesbian said, “Hey, can I watch? And then can your wife do me?” That’s the equivalent of the “Can we watch” comments in the “First Lesbian Experience” thread.

Straight guys, here’s a clue

As stimulating as the thought of two women together may be, the truth is that lesbians love each other, not YOU. They don’t want you to watch and they don’t want you to join in. They are not attracted to you. No, you are not a lesbian in a male body. Women-on-woman sex is completely different from heterosexual sex. For you to think that because you like to fuck women that you understand what it is to be lesbian is both arrogant and ignorant.

Um, does this mean that most slash fiction is offensive? Because I like Star Wars pilot slash, and I belong to a group that writes a lot of it-and we’re almost entirely straight females.

The hell?

Can I not wish to be part of a Buffy & Willow sandwich anymore? Since when is shameless flirting guaranteed to go nowhere forbidden from the SDMB? It’s practically the backbone of MPSIMS! Person A says something that’s between vaguely arousing to explictly arousing, Person B says “I’d like to see/participate/see proof of that.” Why should lesbians be exempt?

How in the hell so?

Now that is uncalled for.

And, while I am honestly interested in Esprix’s views, would any lesbians care comment on this as well?

No, it’s not offensive anymore than lesbian scenes in straight porn are. Now, if every time gay men were mentioned, you said, that you were a gay man in a woman’s body and “Hey, Gobear, can I come over and watch you and your boyfriend go at it? And then you can do me,” THAT would be offensive.

And so you have proof, I presume that Baldwin says this EVERY TIME lesbians are mentioned? Or could it just be that this was a one time throw away.

I like watching guys make out like crazy…does this make me rude?

Guin, I don’t think the offense is taken at being aroused by lesbians/slash, it’s at making direct semi-leering comments to lesbians (or gay males) about that attraction.

(Mrs. Diogenes used to write fantasy slash but she never would have asked one our gay friends if she could “watch.” I think that’s Esprix’s distinction)

OK, gobear, thanks for that, now please address the larger point I’m making, that Esprix shouldn’t expect people on this board to never say things that are offensive to him, and that this expectation of his is unreasonable, and that it embodies the same idea as does censorship, etc.

TaxGuy, if what was said is offensive, and I’m pointing out to these jackasses that it’s offensive… what was your point again?

Esprix

Irrelevant.

No, because fantasies and desire are OK. It’s fine for straight guys to get turned on by lesbian sex, but it’s rude to assume that A) lesbian sex exists only as an a ppetizer to the main course, heterosexual intercourse, and B)leering, smirking comments are acceptable.

It’s fine for you to be turned on by the thought of two guys, Jar, but if you invited yourself into my bedroom on the assumption that what I “really” want is pussy, you’d get told off directly.

well, Esprix getting pissed is in no way akin to censorship, so we can lay that to rest. He has no power to stop you from posting, thus there is no censorship.

As for his supposed expectations, I think you are seriously misreading him. I don’t think he is asking for everyone to agree on every discussion or else, but that posters think about the way they behave toward lesbian and gay people. I don’t think it’s asking to much to regard us as people with different drives than as a sideshow to amuse and titillate straight folks.

I have really missed the quality of invective here compared with other boards. “Choad” would even make it past the censorbots, though I can imagine how few people on the “Joe Millionaire” board would know what it means, and NONE of the people for whom it was intended. It was really sad that you could tell the trolls because our spelling and grammar were BETTER.
